A nice farm visit and you can see the Rooibos tea being created (run over by a tractor) although as a proper tea drinker, it is not really tea, just an infusion. The buchu plants growing the fields were nice to see and the cafe served a variety of drinks for us to sample.

Well worth driving out on the very dusty dirt road for a tour - about 40 minutes from Clanwilliam. We booked ahead of time, emailing a few date options - it seems they do not offer the tour every day.Great tour to the buchu and rooibos fields (seasonal so there may not be much in the fields) and processing plant as well as other aspects of farm production.Very informative.Tea tasting and shop at the end.

We went there in March 2020 and enjoyed an informative tour as well as a delicious tea tasting. After our then bought tea supply was used up we ordered some new and the Skimmelberg staff was very helpful in delivering it all the way to Europe. What a great company!

I enjoyed our stay here, the place we rented for the weekend was out of the books. A fireplace, nice braai area, surrounded by birds and mountains away from the city life! This felt like home where friends can build memories.Thank you for the wonderful service along with our stay!

We stayed for 5 nights at the farmhouse, and should have stayed longer! Its a fantastic working farm with great hosts, great hikes, and places to explore in the area in our car and on our mountain bikes. Highly recommend the tea tour as well, super interesting, and the tour guide Carika is great!

We visited the farm to attend the tour, what a disappointment it was, the tour guide talks very soft and witn no ambition. They took as to the fields and store ect, however we could not experiece of the farm as promised on the Web site. Further more the tour started half an hour late as one of the tour groups arrived late, the tour guide from the farm and the one from the tour group even laugh about the late arrival as it would appear that it is the norm for tours to start late. After the tour we stopped at the neiboring farm, and they dont do tours, but took us through the entire farm and showed and explained the processes. We feel at Skimmelberg our money was wasted.

What a disappointment and waste of money and time. The tour started late and the bus we were transporting was not maintained either. The presenter talks monotonously and without passion. The tour only shows the fields and stores and nothing about the production of the tea. We went to KoiSan tea afterwards, we were warmly welcomed and they took us through the whole process. One could see and feel they have a passion for what they do.06/03/2019After being contacted several times with promises (certainly a bribe method to change my writing above and what was requested) of a gift parcel and a free weekend at the Skimmelberg guest house for me and my sister (we stay in Pretoria ). There is still nothing received. Again, it only proves of poor service and promises that have no value. I still wouldnt recommend anyone to accompany the tour. Because I cannot say with certainty that the service has improved.
