Kindly note, the review is for Checkout Moorton.Unfortunately there isnt an option for less than a star... I visited the branch on Thursday 21/06/2018 at approximately 18.40. I didnt realize the branch closes at 19.00, as im not from the area. i make my selection of products then the lights at the back of the store were switched off. I understood this as being a sign of closure so i made my way to the till. Waited a little while at the till when the gentleman in front of me places his product at the till, he was informed that the both of us needs to use the next till, the gentleman, just like me wasnt happy to be asked to be moved at the last second but we made our way. The cashier that served me was an absolute disaster. I understand the branch is closing and that she would like to leave but greeting a customer doesnt cost alot. I ordered a pack of cigarettes and thereafter asked the cashier to make it two packs. This upset the cashier and thereafter she started talking pass me to other cashiers. Now, this is South Africa, we live in people. Kungenzeka ngingabi mnyama, kodwa ngiyasizwa Isizulu. And angisona Isicefe. I listen quite attentively to her conversation and said nothing, after my transaction was complete. I asked if there are any issues and if there is a cut off time for selling cigarettes. Which she said NO and proceeded to serve the next customer. There was an Indian lady at the till packing my, so i asked her as well, do you have a cut off time to sell cigarettes. She responded no, however the products have to be counted and therefore the cashiers dont like selling the product close to closure because they have to re-count. I informed her if that is the case its fine but inform the customer, dont talk around us, make us feel we are doing the brand a favour by purchasing from you guys and thereafter refer to me as a Isicefe assuming because Im of a different race i dont understand the language. I left the Store so upset, that i didnt not think of keeping the receipt. However exact details can be provided of the transaction as i paid via card and can be verified by your CCTV system. I reached home to find, staff were so busy running me down that they incorrectly packed an extra packets of Dunhill cigarette(10s) into my packet.Next day i called Checkout but incorrectly called the Bayview branch, as this is the number on the internet. The branch manager there was awesome, taking the time to listen to me and my frustrations. She gave me a number of an area manager. I called the number the and spoke to gentleman, unfortunately he was busy at the time, as it was Friday and he was going to Mosque. I understood and asked if he would please call afterwards to discuss this horrible experience. He asked me to send a SMS, so he would have my details. My SMS read, Good day sir, i called you earlier with regards to my dissatisfaction with regards to the Checkout branch in Unit 9. Kindly contact me to discuss the matter further. Regards Vinod SinghI am still awaiting the call back. I know you may be busy Sir, but dont commit to something that you have no intention on following up on. As i mentioned on the day i called, i am prepared to use my airtime and call you back but you suggested sending an SMS and informed me that you will call me back.I hate leaving negative reviews but sincerely believe that this issue needs to be addressed. I still have the packet of Dunhill and you are more than welcome to fetch the extra product.Once again, this review is for Checkout Moorton.@BayviewCheckout, thanks once again to the Branch manager, who assisted me, apologies Ma`am i cant recall your name. Even as my frustration level increased and im guessing so did the tone and volume of my voice, which i apologize for, you were calm and collected.
