Traditional Spur Burger at its best, with a cold beer.

We had to wait very long for our food. Children were finished eating and adults have not yet received their food. Had to help myself to wet wipes as only 2 serviettes were given with the spare ribs. Had to ask again for my cold drink after receiving my food. Waitress never came to ask if all was fine. She was not very friendly. Lady that greeted us was very friendly. The food was good though.

I wish I could give it a no star. Ceres is a small town so I understand that things are a bit different. However the service Standard of The Spur Franchise should be upheld no matter where you are. The customer service of Ceres Spur has a lot to be desired. Training in basic principles is needed.

It was very quite for a weekend visit and the food was fine although they prepare it differently to other Spurs.

Food was cold. My steak was well done instead of medium. There was not even a teaspoon of avo on the Avo and Roquefort steak. Clearly under staff and most probably because of Covid and restrictions and I am sorry if so. But this is no excuse for the above.

Oh dear...turns spur doesnt do monkeygland sauce anymore (why?!?!?!?!?) So thought to opt for a goodie burger (pineapple and mushroom sauce) Sauce was so bland felt like i was eating baby food, sweet potato chips also had zero flavour. The venue itself was quite lovely with its outdoor section which gave it an extra star for me. Honestly though, without monkeygland burgers i doubt Ill ever return. Farewell Spur, it was a good 20yr run...

Ceres doesnt have much of a selection of Restaurants to choose from on a Sunday evening.Staff were very pleasant. I had a seat with a plugpoint to charge my mobile phone. Their complimentary internet was unfortunately down, much like the rest of the town by the sounds of it.I had the Hake and Calamari combo. It was pleasant and tasty except for the very tired salad garnish which should not have been plated in the first place.All in all a pleasant meal.

We went to Spur on Sonday and it was the badest experiece ever. I used to love Spur but wil never go back to Ceres Spur. The cafe latte did not taste good my breakfast was cold. Had to ask them to warm it. They did not take our temperature. It was only the 4 of us inside so they were not even busy. The boerewors was so salty you cannot eat it. Sunny side up turned out in hard eggs.

Had some breakfast. Friendly and quick service. All Covid19 regulations were followed. Food was very good and prepared to our satisfaction. Unfortunately plates and food were lukewarm to cold which was a bit of a disappointment. I mentioned this to management and was received positively. We will visit again.

Hi once again.Today we having lunch at Ceres Spur( Rocky River Spur)Ive got one gripe and that is... The outside eating section was not really eating area friendly!!!??!!Sad.Hope someone realise that the area that we eat in, such as what the pick depicts is part of the whole experience...... eating out in a clean area.

Unfriendly. They have an outdoor section and wouldnt allow a tiny dog with for a breakfast for 5. What a loss of business in this day and age.

First of all, entry was very welcoming and friendly. Secondly, the waiteron brought the drinks and forgot 2 drinks, had to ask for it twice coz she was in such a hurry. Thirdly, she brought the food which was cold and got the one order wrong. When someone asks for a hotplate, theres a reason for it and if someone asks for meduim rare steak, make sure its medium rare. To top it off, it felt like we had to rush our food down because they were busy closing. I understood we got there a bit before 3pm, but if you know youre closing, why not apologize and send us on our way, we would not have forced to stay. Worse experience of going to a Spur restaurant. Would not recommend going there again.

This one is worth a trip.! Good old fashioned Spur done right. Quick and friendly service, great food, cold drinks, clean and inviting atmosphere.

Travelling from Tulbagh and wanted to eat here but was running a bit late. Manager was not accommodating at all and could not fit us in for breakfast. Other branches have been able to accommodate us in a case where we were a little late. I expected more from the Spur franchise.

I received a magnificent service.

We were very happy with the service we received from Carla. Very friendly and helpful. The sirloin was perfectly done (medium rare) and the burgers were just right. Compliments to the kitchen staff. This was by far the best, compared to my previous visits to the Spurs in 3 other towns. Kudos!

The order was received incorrect, the onion rings were hard and felt as it was recooked, the chips were hard as if it was refired. I wont suggest going there again, the waitron looked as if she just wanted to get out and go home.

This was really worth it... All the way from Worcester... The Service was Perfect. The food was Delicious and very quick and most important... Not cold... So do yourselves a favour and go and visit Rocky River Spur Steak Ranch... Its something you have to experience by yourself...

Nice new kiddies area that is clean and has an assistant. Food was well prepared but presentation can improve. Waffle was a big disappointment - not the big crispy-on-the-outside waffle that one used to get. Overall service was very good - friendly and efficient.

The food was ok, cappuchinos terrible and some sort of sweet sauce used on the mushrooms. Service super slow. Waiters are all in training and table orders were forgotten and then fought over the counter to place urgently in a attempt to rescue the situation. We paid and left with the waiters still fighting amongst themselves none the wiser. The manager Elizabeth at the door, very friendly and helpful.

Not a good experience. The salsa was tomato puree and i had to search for the chicken. Not to mention that HOT meant unedible. I couldnt finish my meal and I usually have no problem with spicy food. We will definitely not go back soon.My husbands food was cold and despite the fact that they had customers, they moved furniture to clean. It was a rather unwelcome experience.We had a friendly waiter though.

Burgers were cold and the bun fell apart. The tomatoe on the burger was old and sour. Chips was cold. Service was a complete joke and the place wasnt even busy. Worst experience ever. Definitely wont be going back there ever again.

Good as always

Visited Spur on New Years Day. No sweet potato chips, craft beer (despite advertisement), castle light draught, to name but a few. Food was good and the atmosphere okay especially in the outside courtyard which is smokers friendly. Pity our waitress was so scarce. A big thank you to Elizabeth who visited our table with her usual friendly greetings.

The food is good,normal Spur food. The only dissappointment for me was that I was looking forward to having a beer with lunch,just to find out that they are halaal and not serving alcohol.
