We went to watch a performance....very very loud (but thats just because we are older than normal crowd 😉) Very positive fact - I felt safe at all times - there are visible staff that walk around the whole time checking. Bathrooms clean. Not too crowded..had a great time!

I went to an open mic night. Really cute and cozy on a Thursday evening. Friendly staff and good music. *Update* Went to see Hands Like Houses and it was super epic. Great sound and lighting. Amazing vibe and lots of entertainment!

It was great, not too busy for us, we danced so much!!! There was an artist performance, that was great, the sound was just a bit too loud that we could not quite hear everything because the sound sounded distorted....

Great venue. lacoustic pa and digico console. Bring your own backline. The acoustics of venue are not great. Hopefully that will be adressed in the future. But if the venue is pumping its a vibe.

Good facility for shows but they should look at their sound - did not give due credit to the artist performing. I personally dont like that overpowering droning noise - all the time before and after shows- you can have no conversations.

The venue does not seem to believe that COVID19 exists. Not a single staff member wearing masks, no attempt to guide guests standing towards the stage to social distance. Absolutely disgusted by this arrogance.

Our Last Night was my first show to attend at this venue, and it was unbelievable! Everyone is having a jol, all good vibes, all the time. You have enough choices of where you feel comfortable enjoying the evening; lounge at the bar, chill outside, jump with the crowd and the artists. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Really no complaints, it was a awesome experience!

Excellent place. The show and music was incredible but to focus on the venue itself: Great sound, big open floor with lots of room further back from the stage to sit. The chef is a delight, and the bar is pretty standard.

As far as live venues to watch bands go this place is great! The stage has ample space, so the bands werent cramped. Service for drinks was either cash at the bar or you could run a tab with the waiters they had. Food is served at a stall, much like a canteen and you pay cash for it. Best part was the venue was clean! An absolute first for me to go to a gig and not feel like Ive rolled around in an ashtray and been champagne (beer) showered. My clothes were still clean when we left! Imagine?!A massive thank you to Duncan Bell and Turning Tricks Entertainment for pulling off a spectacular show and show casing this venue to its full potential! Tempos/Cool Runnings who?

Perfect for ages 20 to 35 for a fun night out

The place for the Afrikaans music lover. Music very loud and it can become very crowded later in the evenings. The majority of people hanging out there are students and young adults.

Insane venue, had a blast with a year-end function. Good facilities and ample space to hold even large events. Friendly staff

This place has great acoustics for live music, especially heavy metal 🤘🏼. Really enjoyed myself here and the interior of the place looks really nice!

It was good. Place is nice. The music is a bit loud its at that point where you could feel your eat drums starting to vibrate a bit. But besides that its a nice place to hang out and have a good time.

Social experiment, mixing old, young and drunk people.Would advise against watching a show here, unless youre in the queue by 4 pm and able to grab a table or willing to stand for 4 hours. Luckily the artist was exceptional (Joe Black) and made up for the crowded space and intense heat.Place is pushing quantity over quality for the shows making it hard to enjoy.

Generally disappointed, near closing time one of the cleaning staff purposefully moved a chair and spilled three of our drinks. After consulting with 3 staff members who all acted deliberately slow and Dumb to the incident and no apology was even attempted. Staff and Management acted rudely... Its clear that Plateland is not interested in offering service with a smile. Makes me wish Google had a 0 Star rating.

Service was just above average. The music was too loud, you cannot talk in there. But very trendy with the younger generation. Mainly sokkie music so that is what it plays to the local crowd. Looks like a converted warehouse.

Staff are so awesome and friendly and helpful. What a cool jol place!

Nice place to get together with friends they have a massive dans floor and the staff are really friendly i would go back any day.

Platteland was a great experience. I went when Bok van Blerk was performing, although it was a very Afrikaans experience, I did enjoy it. Great prices on drinks, entrance was a bit high but what can one do. Give it a visit on their next event if youre looking for something to do.

Neat, clean, with a nice lighting arrangement and a sizable dance floor. Too loud for a romantic evening out though.

Oversold their venue for the jo black show Saturday night. Owner blamed everything and everyone instead of just taking responsibility and handle his issues. Was so rude with guest that has a reasonable expectation for a logic explanation . Could they not monitor ticket sales and be proactive? Will take me some convincing to return to the venue........a lot of convincing.

Seems like the amount of very drunk teenagers are getting less every time. Still a hit and miss place. You will have a better time if langarm is your thing.

If your keen for a night out, this is the place to be. Whether its sitting at the bar, meeting friends for drinks and dancing or watching live performances. This place has a seperate bar on the side that allows smoking and has tables with bar chairs. On the inside there is a big dance floor and a stage. Then there is a upper level and a ground level. The ground level doesnt allow smoking and has a bar and pool table with bathrooms. The upper level allows smoking and is also set up so you can see the stage and dancefloor. Both levels have tables and chairs. The cleaners comes by regularly to empty ashtrays and pick up empty glasses and bottles. The bartenders and staff are all friendly. I would definitely recommend to all persons over the age of 18! Check out their Facebook for events coming or drop by without any event!

Great venue with ample bars for the thirsty. I was there for a heavy metal show though, so I do not know what its like on a regular night.

Great stuff. Dj performs as always with great dance songs. Parletones show was great. Thanks to the new bouncers that is awake and moves trough alot it was nice to feel that attention to detail is given. Keep doing what you guys/ladies are doing

We were there to see Our last night and there was some problem with the sound and nobody said nothing to us but I believe that was a isolated incident. Will go again but sound must be much better next time

The venue reminds me of the old Arcade Empire, with horrible acoustics that completely slaughters any music thats being played live or otherwise. Will definitely not recommend it to anyone unless you like a place with no character and bad sound.

Platteland caters for young and old! Its really a great place to go sokkie and what makes it even better is the live entertainment they have!

To pay for drinks as well as R100 to go to the bathroom is not acceptable.. Other than that it is a decent place

Good atmosphere, reasonable and affordable food... but the sound was a bit off (the bass guitarists sounds of two different bands completely overpowered the rest of the sound of those bands.), which is bad since I went there for the music haha.

We came to watch Robbie Wessels. Bought VIP tickets. We went up to the balcony to find a table as close to the front as possible. As we sat down, we were informed by a waiter /barmen that we had to leave as that table was booked. I made sure beforehand and was told that all tables are first come first serve basis. Clearly not. Went to the ladies toilets. My toilet still had last nights vomit splatter marks on it and the floor was dirty with numerous empty toilet rolls lying around. It was clear that no routine cleaning was done from the night before. My friends toilet door lock mechanism was faulty and she was stuck in the cubicle for a while. After not being impressed with the VIP section at all, we proceeded to find a table downstairs that was right in front of the stage /dance floor. Now that table was soooooooo much better. And we could see Robbie right up and close. Will definitely not waste my money buying the more expensive VIP tickets again. Much better view from downstairs. And the downstairs toilets were much cleaner tooThe sound wasnt great at all in the beginning of the show but that eventually came right.Robbie Wessels made the evening worth it though. Thanks to him!!!Ill probably come watch another show here again but the VIP area is really unimpressive, really nothing VIP about it at all.No response from Owner to date...
