Great service from MLu, he kept me up to date each step of the way. The installation team did a great job too. My pool is not a standard size, very tricky with measurements and poles. They spent 2.5 hours here to ensure it was installed correctly and to my satisfaction. Well done team, you should be very proud of yourselves.

Bought a dark blue pool cover from PowerPlastics some years back. Cost, I think, 25% more than the light blue one. I bought the marketing that said dark blue would cut costs as it wouldnt let sunlight through, and therefore no algae growth, and therefore less chemicals needed, etc... and that has completely been my experience. We run the filter for less hours - salt water pool - so there is a good electricity and wear and tear saving, and the final benefit is that the pool (full sunshine) doesnt get as hot in summer as it used to with the light blue cover.

The cover was installed.There were two sections where our children can climb into the pool.If this were to happen, we would not be aware due to the cover obstructing view of what is in the pool.We have been struggling to get Power Plastics to correct this mistake for the past 4+ months.Regardless, they have no problem in regularly asking for the remainder of the payment.Power Plastics, when will you be able to resolve the faulty installation?Are you a company that forget about your customers once they have made payment?

I rate service a 5. I rate quality (from my past cover with them) 3,75.I received excellent prompt service - from my initial phone call to having someone sent to measure to installation. Mlu was my contact and he did an awesome job along with the installers who were on time polite and helpful. The first solid cover I ordered from them lasted 4,5 years. The plastic and a few ratchets needed to be replaced from wear and tear (started to tear on the poles and wear thin where it folds open). I am hoping this ones lifespan is a bit longer. Overall I am very happy with them otherwise I would have used another supplier second time around

The MD Andrew was quick to assist when I had a issue. They came to install my pool cover and done a good quality job. If they continue to resolve issues amicably and provide good service as they have, they definitely the business to call for pool covers.

Andrew Trafford and his team at PowerPlastics Pool Covers are simpy a pleasure to work with. Not only did they come out within 30 minutes to measure our pool, but also fitted it within one week. Obviously, the product is phenomenal and our pool looks great and is safe for our pets.Working with their team was a pleasure.

Appalling and disastrous service from their quality department, them completely ignoring my warranty claim related to poor bubble quality upon delivery (plenty of punctured bubbles upon delivery), with product also extremely wavy upon delivery (due to inferior welding alignment at seam). Them not accepting any action on returned cover, as raised concerns “do not qualify as warranty claims”. Cover got returned unattended. Post sales customer service catastrophic, with product quality and workmanship disastrous, to say the least.However, pre-sale service was excellent.

Quick and easy service, walked in with my measurements and 20 later walked out with a pool cover.

I am battling for a week now to get a quote from them. I have phoned, emailed, phoned and emailed again. After I got a telephonic quote I am still waiting for the quote to be mailed to me so that I can pay and place the order. No wonder one have to wait like 6 weeks for something. This order could have been placed a week ago if the person got on it right away. They installed my cover 2 - 3 years ago that is why I contacted them again. Now I just need a triangle stand made up in stainless steel but it is a mission to get service. Hands up!!

Service is appalling. It appeared to go swimmingly until I paid the full installation of the pool cover. I repeatedly said i was not home in Scarborough on the Thursday and we discussed a suitable time the following week. But astonishingly I got called by the salesman on Thursday morning early and told the cover had been loaded on the truck for delivery and would be installed that day. I frantically made arrangements for a contractor who has worked for me in the past and was the area to do me a huge favour and come around to let the installers in at the time specified - between 11.30 to 12 - which I confirmed three times with the salesman. The salesman said it would take 15 minutes which i told the contractor and he agreed. My contractor arrived at 11.50 but there was no one there. I eventually called the salesman and demanded to be put through to the driver. I discovered he was in Wynberg and claimed to have no knowledge of being told any delivery time. He said he was leaving Wynberg to come to Scarborough. So I asked the contractor to come back at 12.45 which gave plenty margin of time. He returned at 12 50 and once again there was no installation team to be seen. After numerous phone calls to salesman the team arrived at 13.15. And it took longer than the stated 15 minutes to install. So i was in serious debt to my contractor who wasted a serious chunk of his time to do me what i thought would be a simple 20 minute favour. The product looks great - lets hope it lasts - the installation team are actually very good, but there is a real management problem in this company.Friday morning: So the MD Andrew called me this morning and apologised without trying to make any excuses. He said that he took problems with customers very seriously and wanted to know my views on what and how to improve his service. When i gave him suggestions saying i didnt think it was the individuals concerned that were the problem since both the sales and the installation team were actually very efficient but that it was a coordination problem, he engaged and listened. He also offered to come out personally if i reported any issues.THIS SORT OF RESPONSE FROM A COMPANY I TAKE EXTREMELY SERIOUSLY. HENCE I AM REPORTING AND ADDING THIS AMENDMENT. I AM ALSO AMENDING THE ASSESSMENT. HE GETS A 5 RATING FOR DOING THIS AND SO ON AVERAGE I AM MOVING MY RATING FROM 1 TO 3.

Disappointing service. Bought two solar covers. One for our home in West Beach and another for our home in Fairways. The West Beach team delivered as per schedule. The Fairways team did not fit on the day scheduled. My wife took special leave to be on site for the fitting after 13h30. After numerous irate calls to Mlu from her side, we were given all sorts of excuses, but were told that the team was on their way from Constantia. They never pitched without anyone alerting us. The next day, we were told to re-schedule a new date, i.e. we were not even going to be accommodated first on this day. After some harsh words, having paid some two weeks before, one of the managers agreed to fit the cover after hours, without the wind protectors. This intervention was much appreciated as we were, by now, at our wits end. Insisted the wind protectors be deducted from the invoice. Was not willing to waste any more time and endure further disappointment.

Excellent Service all the time.I never hesitate to refer anyone to Power Plastic Pool Covers for the best covers and excellent service.

Totally unimpressed with their installation service, post sales customer service and most of all their inferior product quality and workmanship. We purchased the more expensive thermal cover with roller for circa R 15,000 (our pool is large). To start they never bolted the roller into the floor properly. The cover then started coming apart at the seams where it had been heat sealed / joined (within the second year). Then in that same second year the reinforcement material holding the aluminum structural support beam to the cover TOTALY fell apart / disintegrated (refer to picture attached). Each time we communicated with them they did EVERYTHING they could to deflect any and all responsibility whatsoever and ultimately it was all our fault because we used the wrong quantity of pool chemicals. After literally BEGGING for a semblance of customer service they then offered me a whopping 7% discount on a replacement cover. Give this company a WIDE BERTH.For the record since the owner responded to my review: 1) The product came apart at the seams and the supporting material disintegrated in the SECOND YEAR of ownership 2) Our pool does not use a Chlorinater 3) I regard the 7% discount offered as proof of bad faith as opposed to goodwill in this instance and I stand by our review of said shoddy product, workmanship and abject lack of customer service.

After being spammed every day by Nyameka to confirm my sale and secure payment for a pool cover, I receive the worst after sales treatment. I was told my cover would be installed on Tuesday then it was changed to Thursday...I cancel my plans for Thursday to be available for the installation and wait the entire day just to be told at the end of the day I am not on schedule for installation. For the high price charged I really though PowerPlastics Pool Covers would treat its customers better.

The EnergyGuard Selective Transmission™ GeoBubble Cover is FANTASTIC product - wow! I honestly thought it wouldnt make much of difference to be honest, but my husband insisted on getting it - its completely changed the temperature of our chilly pool - we have NEVER spent so much time in the pool over Summer as this year! We are using WAY LESS chlorine and other chemicals than before and its saving us on so much water - its a NO BRAINER for people with pools! Nadine was efficient and effective in helping us choose a product that worked for our needs, I can only recommend this product and company! At first, I was very hesitant to do business with PowerPlastics because of their bad reviews. But, they proved me wrong. They have done a great job and I am very satisfied. I did business with Julia and she has kept her promises all the way along the process. Swift response and hassle free communication. The installation guys, Jiraan and Denver, also lived up to my renewed expectations. During the site visit for the final measurement, they involved me on the best way forward. The installation was perfect. My first inquiry was on 17 July and the installation was done on 26 July. Way to go, keep up these service levels!

Although I was given three installation dates - all of which were missed without explanation - they did eventually install the pool cover I had ordered and paid for in full. Not a great customer experience but at least I have a solution in place. And I see from other reviews that I may be the exception...

I recently ordered the EnergyGaurd GeoBubble cover. The service was slick! Nadine was amazing, she took my order, they came, they measured, they quoted and boom, a new cover 1 week later. I now save about 50% on my pool pump and chemicals. Furthermore, my pool has almost no algae forming under that cover, no evaporation and it is much warmer. Thank you powerplastics:)

Bought a pool cover from you 6 years ago , and decided to buy ione again on the 23 September 2020. i paid for in full and Leroy ( salesman ) would let me know when i could collect. since then it is impossible to get a hold of you via telephone at your cape town or johannesburg branches. emails are unanswered and it is a week now i am trying to find out how far the cover is. absolutely pathetic service. i will not recommend you. i am not sure how i am going to resolve my issues - hope i am not being scammed....

Takes your money and doesn’t deliverPower Plastics Cape Town under the wonderful arms of Caryn and Carolyn will take your money for a full order and then don’t deliver. They will also tell you that your pool cover is in production when they don’t even have stock available for the specific cover ordered. Please think twice before paying deposits or credit card transactions. If anyone has further troubles let me know so I can help you with a CPA claim. This will be my next step. They harras clients over the phone and never commits to anything in writing. Its a pity that the covers itself is good. I had a wonderful experience dealing with Power Plastics. The service was awesome. A sales consultant was in daily contact with updates. Everything was done on time and as agreed. After going through some of the reviews which were negative, I was most impressed by managements effort to respond to each review detailing what had gone wrong. It reflected that the company was willing to learn. They delivered in my case. Well done!

At first it seemed like great service and a great product... but just over a year later and the cover is not weathering very well in the sun, its starting to go powdery and the cover has torn twice. The first tear got repaired by PowerPlastics properly and no problem, the second time has been pathetic - the cover was returned back to us late and the repair was made by gluing (not hot bonding) a flimsy patch over the tear. As the workmen were re-installing the cover the patch came loose. Poor job.

Fantastic service and a great product

Ordered a solar blanket, everything went just great, service, communication and delivery, all very satisfying. A few weeks after I decided tooorder a roll up station. This time I wasnt happy at all. Bad communication, promised phone calls never happened, delivered the wrong size... Last day before closure until January 6th! I actually was going to recommend them to a few colleagues of mine, but Im not sure about that anymore.

The poor and good responses are a good indication of what you can expect when looking to purchase a pool cover from PowerPlastics. The poor part of the service, is with the sales / enquiry staff. We chose to do most of our communication via e mail, asking many questions so as to ensure that we made the correct decision as to which cover would be best for us. The answers were very poor to say the least, which indicated that either they did not understand the questions, or they did not understand the product they are selling. The best answers eventually came from a work friend who had one of these covers, otherwise I suspect we might never have reached the stage of making the purchase. The worst part of the service which showed that the left and right hand does not talk with each other in the company, and in fact do not know from one minute to the next from what they have stated - Julia sent an e mail on the one day to confirm that our order had come out of production and would look to install in due course, and then the next day sent an e mail to state that needed the signed final quote and deposit in order to proceed with the cover (We had already provided Leroy with the agreement and proof of payment, and he had confirmed the installation date). I even tried to contact the CEO of the company, left my name and telephone number, but no surprise, never received a call back or response.The really fantastic part of the service and the company, is the guys who firstly came to do the measurements, and then came to fit it on Friday, with the job going very smoothly, showing how to release the ratchets for rolling back the cover, and then how to attach them again. These guys really helped claw back the poor experience, otherwise the rating would not have been a 3, but rather a minus 5.Would I recommend this companies product - Yes, we purchased it after all, would I recommend the measurement team and fitment team - Yes. Would I recommend the manner in which the sales team deals with requests for feedback on questions - No. As long as you know which product you want, then they are okay as order takers and in the end product an excellent product. Hopefully take the constructive criticism and use it to improve the shortcomings in their sales department so as to deliver an all round good client experience.Input on some of the covers - the one that you put on top of the pool water is not very good if you have small dogs, because if they fall in the water, they may land under the cover, in which case there can only be one outcome. The solid cover with the eyelets while being cheaper than the one with batons, does not come with drainage holes, so any water that lands up on top of your cover, will not get in the pool, so defeats the object of trying to save and accumulate water. The cover with the batons is the best one, although much pricier, but at least the drainage holes will ensure any water on it will go into your pool, while helping to curb evaporation, and your small dogs will likely enjoying walking on water

I’ve been considering getting a pool cover for a while and I happened to be in the area today so on the off chance, I went in to the Power Plastics factory in CT. Staff could not have been more helpful. I left within 35 minutes with my GeoBubble thermal cover already cut to size. So impressed with these guys. Great value for money too. Much better than the cheap bubble stuff that everyone is saying falls to bits in months. Thanks PP!

I ordered a cover in November and also paid the deposit. the delivery was in December, all very good. I actually send a mail to thank them. But late in December, I noticed that the cover is shrinking in all directions. I sent e-mails with pictures attached to get it fixed or replaced, but all in vain. I was contacted early March by the sales rep that I dealt with. but nothing happened. I do not have the time to spend sending mails while I paid good money for the product. now that the quality is not to standard, I have to battle to get it replaced. this is really bad service for the product is very good though. I cannot get hold of the owner. I wish I could discuss this with him to avoid me going this route.

The service provided by power plastics is abysmal. I approached 2 oceans pools in Cape Town to do some work on my pool, and to provide a pool cover, in early December 2017 - who in turn subcontracted power plastics. It is now the beginning of February, and I am still waiting. The level of the pool has dropped a good 40cm since the quote. There has been no communication whatsoever from their side. I will never use power plastics again, and would not recommend them to anyone.
