I would strongly recommend that anyone reading this not do business with Coastal Security Services in Hout Bay. I called them in to fix my home alarm system. The technician said that the battery was finished and replaced it at a cost of R 756. That night the alarm stopped working and so I called them in again. The technician said that it was definitely the transformer this time and quoted me for the installation of a new one: R 625. I foolishly paid both invoice and quote. The new transformer blew up whilst they were attempting to install it. I was then informed that this was the result of the alarms faulty electricity board and quoted around R 5000. Why did they not test the whole system in the beginning? Surely one should test the system before installing a new transformer, if theres a possibility of it being destroyed? I contacted them about this and they stated that they understand my frustration but it was just one of those things. Im not sure to which things they refer. I have paid R 1381 for nothing, and Coastal Security Services are happy to leave it at that. I would caution against doing business with this service provider.

Professional, willing to assist and comforting to have a local company of this stature right here in Hout Bay. In early 2018 one of the company owners put himself in harms way to apprehend suspects successfully.Above and beyond the call of duty.
