What a restaurant it’s so special. The look and feel is vintage and feels cozy. The carpets seem like they mad old and the curtains seem very dirty. The team were helpful and friendly. Our mussels were not great but then the chef took it upon himself and apologised and made it correctly wow it was delicious. The pasta seafood pasta was nice but not amazing. The team seem well trained.

Everything about this restaurant is very good. Firstly it is real Italian. It feels like Italy. Lots of good service, food is unfussy but quality. Their wine list could be a little more interesting

This place has an excellent reputation and I may just have been unlucky with my orders but as a real Italian restaurant one would expect the difference between minestrone soups are noted and indicated on the menu. One would expect salads are served with dressing on the side or at least dressing indicated on the menu. The list could go on.Service was excellent, super-friendly hence not giving one star only but the fact is that after a lunch there I had to go another place to actually eat.

I go to Magica Roma in remembrance of my late brother every so often as he used to live in Pinelands and he took me there a few timesThe food and the vibe is always good, but this time I wasn’t as impressed as before.The Parma Ham Antipasti Freddi that is R120 is a bit of a insult. We expected some kind of platter for that price, but it was a few slices of ham and some lettuce/ a small side salad.We tipped just more than 10%, which is what we can afford. Our waitress, who had been pleasant and smiling the whole evening, suddenly lost her friendly demeanour and didn’t even say ‘thank you’ when my boyfriend was done paying. The owners/ manager is very friendly but it doesn’t help when your staff are rude and expect everyone to tip them large amounts. Unfortunately that’s how customers are lost.

One of Cape Towns finest restaurant. From the wild oysters to amazing starter platters, ossabucco, fresh cob, steaks etc. I have been dining there for 30 years and have still not ever been disappointed.

Not sure why I have not been back here for more than a decade. This was, is and probably will remain THE best Italian restaurant in Cape Town! The food is outragously good and the service is 10 out of 5! The chef just made up our meals as we went along and he got it spot on every time. It is not cheap BUT worth every cent and then some! This is one restaurant that must be on your bucket list...

For the love of Italian Food!! Having worked as a Butler for an Italian and under strict instructions about which recipes to use and some dos and donts, this place took me back to my days in that house. True simple authentic Italian food! The attentive staff, the vibe, and the company made for a memorable evening!!

This is one of the few authentic Italian restaurants in Cape Town Its so popular you have to make a reservation. Theres a warm atmosphere, definitely the kind of place you take a loved one and close friends. The owners mingle and your meal is exactly what you would expect. The best thing about it is that the prices dont make you feel like you have been taken for a ride. It will definitely be back for more.

Around for ~50 yrs. Recall first seeing it as a young boy in Pinelands. Fortunate to have visited this iconic establishment many times over the years. Always on top of my childrens wish list. Always fresh ingredients, prepared well and served by friendly staff and passionate owners. Book well in advance. Be surw to ask about specials or call on Enzo if you need a personalised creation. Yes it might be ever so slightly pricey on some items, but all in all always money well spent. A must visit.

Amazing dinner at Magica Roma. Excellent service, delicious food (I had the four seasons pizza, which was piled with toppings and so yummy!) and the owner went the extra mile to make sure we had such a wonderful evening. The semifreddo dessert is rich and utterly swoon worthy. A wonderful Italian restaurant definitely worth the visit!

The past was nice as Ive heard from my friends. The restaurant reminded me of Italy. Looks like old, friendly shop with many loyal customers. Pasta is not my favorite food in South Africa but was very enjoyable with good price. Ill come back when Im in mood for Italian food.

The service 5 star, ambience 5 star, food 5 star, chef 5 star, they have just managed to overcome all issues relating restaurant industry and have a well oiled set up. What a surprise finding this lovely restaurant tucked away in the suburbs! We needed a place to eat after a visit to a local hospital. What a great find!! Hugely popular so suggest a reservation should be made. Great staff and I think 🤔 owner run. Certainly clientele were greeted personally with a bit of banter thrown in. A typical authentic Italian experience. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the wine and food we ordered. Prices? Not cheap. Not too high, but the quality of the food on the tables around us looked very good and seemed to be appreciated by the patrons. I recommend a visit if you can get a reservation!

I enjoyed my meal but was very disappointed when I got home and was able to check on the Internet that the fish offered that night as the special was actually listed on the Red listed of highly endangered species - never to be ordered! Thus in a reputable restaurant it should never be offered. I will thus never return. Be warned! Check the endangered lists before you order fish here as the restaurant obviously has no ethics!

Magica Roma is a really authentic Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, and the food delicious. A wonderful menu with a selection to please every palate. The children were fascinated by the pizza oven, of course. Will definitely go again.

Great menu, pizza, pasta and veal options are varied. The saltimbocca was great, so was the pizza specially prepared for my friend. Very good wine selection to suit all tastes and pockets. Booking is a must.

Best seafood pizza anywhere

This is the Italian version of Dias Tavern and is clearly an institution. This place feels like it’s full of regulars. It’s not difficult to see why - the food is excellent and there is a warm buzz about the place. The service was exemplary, with the staff being very knowledgeable in the restaurant’s offerings. The wine list is also very good, with some excellent Italian wines there to keep things authentic. The owner / manager is also very approachable to chat about your meal and experience.

Such a superb place to eat and socialise. The owners are hands on and on arrival you are immediately made to feel as if you are in a part of Italy. The atmosphere is great.Their recommendations of what to eat was spot on. I had a sea food pasta with a spicy tang to it. It was delicious. Definitely the place to go.

Magica Roma is one of those special gems that never fails to deliver... it is a top-notch Italian restaurant.it is always busy, which means booking is always necessary to get a table.the food is always brilliant, with a distinct Italian flavour.the wine list is really impressive, with a large range of Italian wines available.the fact that Magica has not survived but THRIVED for so many years is testament to the passion and dedication of the trio of Ezio, Franco and Marco.

I visit the restaurant quite often as it isnt far from me. It is the best place for pasta in Cape Town. They do offer other great dishes, their menu is well balanced. My favorite part is that you can customize your pasta dish. The place closes after lunch and reopens for dinner.....plan your hours well if you are looking to visit in the afternoon. There are convinience shops next to it, if you need to do some quick shopping while you are in the area ;) 1
