The nursing staff get a 5 star from me. The hospital itself is very well maintained. But the Drs get a 1 star from me. My mom was admitted to covid ICU and we got very little information from the Drs, I have seen Vets have more sympathy and compassion towards animals than what my mom got from the lady Dr overseeing her. Absolutely disgusting the way she spoke about my mom to the family, shameful.

….Today we visit here solely for the purpose of receiving our Covid Vaccination as this is the Site we were directed to. We real-lii didn’t know what to expect! But we were blown away by the sheer professionalism of all involved right from our 1st point of contact to the last before we exited. My wife & I had two different times to report here one in the morning and one in the afternoon so we prepared ourselves for a whole day escapade. We even packed a picnic basket. The ladies at the first point of reporting understood and allowed us both to go through seeing that we had appointments. How awesome. Our time in total spent here was less than 45 minutes! We commend and congratulate the total staff involved here for their commitment and efficiency! Well Done & Keep Up the Good Works….

The ER was very good and deserves 4 stars. Their follow up with the necessary information for my recovery was absolutely abysmal. Constant effort for a week and a half to simply get them to email me a letter for referral and follow up info for the doctor I needed to see. For an appointment that needed to happen in the next couple days. They were quick to send me the bill though, but nothing else

I will not recommend Kingsbury to have a splinter removed. Your nursing care sucks and your management is non exsistant. You owe me R71240. 00 as my musical aid settled the account. I had to deposit R71240 before you would admit me. Its been 8weeks and you have neglected to refund me. Cape Town blames head office and head office blames Cape Town. I am still waiting for someone in management to call me as was promised a week ago. IS THERE ANY MANAGEMENT??? as Im sure they to embarrassed to call me. YOUR HOSPITAL AND MANAGENT ARE A JOKE. REGARDS MR HENDRIKSE. IF you even take time to read this, then you can call me. You will see I was admitted on 27 August 2021 at Kenilworth.

Afternoon. I was quite nervous at first, going in for an op, but the staff were very welcoming. From Barbara at pre admission a few days earlier to the gentleman at admissions for his kind and comforting words, to the nurses who all smiled and reassured me that all would be ok. Thank you aunty Althea, Martha, Noluvo, Charmaine...nurses whose names I remember but to the ones I didnt, thank you as well. Your excellent service was appreciated. To the cleaner Davine, all the best. Last but not least, thank you to that sweet smiley face I saw when she brought breakfast, lunch or supper, Nono. You are one in a million as well... keep that smile as it is contagious....we all need it...Thank you.

You’re coming from hectic surgery and everyone is noisy-all day and all night. Had thoughtless patients with ,me who were even singing hymns at 10pm. When I asked them when they planned on sleeping, they pretended not to hear me. Nurses seem to only have one volume - super loud_and used it whether people were sleeping or not, any time of the night. There were one or two great nurses. But overall, it was horrible. I was also told that a better gluten free, vegetarian menu would be made up but I didn’t get one. Worst hospital stay in ages.

I went to the emergency room with a 6 month old who had a fever last night. It took up to 2 hours to get her anti-biotic shot and that was only the start of the hellish night I experienced. I was taken into a room in the paeds ward where no cot for her was provided and the buzzer did not work. This meant if I ever needed assistance I had to get up, carrying my sick daughter and go shout down the corridor for help. The nurses had no sympathy for a first time mom who has never had a baby with a fever and did not come check on me for hours, although I could hear them laughing and talking from down the hall. When I pleaded for them to come by every 30 minutes so that I didn’t have to scream for help, I was told that that was not their job. Actually, yes it is. I am sure they see a lot of babies with fevers and don’t see this as a big deal. But to me it was a big deal and some reassurance and a bit of care would have gone a long way. I am absolutely appalled and saddened by this lack of care.

I had my son at Life Kingsbury Hospital just over 6 months ago and I can still remember the professional service we both recieved. The way the doctors as well as the nurses made me feel when needed to go for an emergency c-section after being IN labour for over 13 hours was amazing. The maternity staff has the utmost respect and always explained whenever an explanation was needed. Dr R Lutchman, the pediatrician, being able to see there was something wrong with my sons breathing at birth and taking all the precautions he needed to ensure my son got better. To the NICU staff who was on the ball ALL THE TIME. To my amazing gynecologist, Dr K Sonntag, who cared so much and worked so efficiently. Headsup to those planning to have a baby delivered at Kingsbury HospitalKingsbury Hospital Claremont nurses at preadmissions state it is policy that if a dad-to-be does not take a PCR test you are denied access to your wife/partner while she is in labour and will not witness the birth of your child. They further state that a test must be taken 72 hours prior to admission or it is not valid which means you need to take and pay for a test every 3 days (a baby can be delivered any tine between 23-42 weeks) to ensure you are able to enter the hospital when your child is born. Please share so parents-to-be are not caught unaware upon arrival to their chosen hospital and can familiarize themselves with the ammended hospital policies.I only found this out after asking upon my preadmission visit 4 days before my delivery date.

Dont bother going there for an emergency. No one came in, no one went out, yet I waited for an hour and a half before I left without seeing a doctor. Simple inefficiency, arrogance and a disregard for the individual. Its unfortunate that I had to select a star.

1. Terrible service post care wrt to complaints and account queries. Nobody can assist you or direct you to the proper department or person.2. The public needs to made aware that a R1000 facility fee is charged just for choosing to come to Kingsbury, thats beside the ER bill. In the event stock is used, it will increase from there. Valuable info if you are a private patient. In my opinion, Patient Care at a facility & Post Care is important to consider, as it makes the overall experiences worthy of your money. Anything less than that, take your money and business elsewhere.

The hospital is not clear on its COVID 19 protocols. My son was for admission pre surgery and they refused a parent accomoany him to the ward. They do however allow for 30 minute visits between three and four. Which is when we were there for his admission. Ironically i needed to sign multiple documents once we arrived in the ward, proving the need for a minor to be accompanied by a parent. With his last admission 7 Dec 2019, i was disgusted at the care he received in ICU. I raised my concerns with the communications officer in writing and in person with the hospital managment. No even as much as an apology. If it was not for his doctors rendering their services at Kingsburg Hospital, i would not have my son admitted to this institution.

This is a great hospital with all the modern technology needed. There are various Doctors rooms on the premises in separate suites. Take note of the parking bays. Some are clearly marked for doctors, ambulances or wheelchair. The Eye Peninsula hospital is located on Main road side of the parking area. The parking area and exit becomes extremely congested as there is only one person at the exit. Allow for extra time getting in and out of the parking. There is a 30 minute free parking period.

The reception staff didnt communicate anything to us and they didnt even bother trying to collect information about my daughters condition before we were simply told to sit and wait. I was very dissapointed in my birthing experience. I found them to be very unprofessional, compared to what was described in the walk around, it was far removed from the experience I had in the hospital. My doctors were wonderful there were two nurses that were great. Other than that the hospital overall was disappointing. I had a C-section and I received very little assistance from nurses. I had to go to the bathroom with my baby because there was nobody to watch him, I received no clinic book when we left the hospital, my baby was not even bathed when we left the hospital. He still had blood caked on his head when we left there. I chose this hospital because of our family history with it. I complained to the head nurse on numerous occasions and all i got was Im sorry you feel that way Baby didnt even receive vaccinations neither did they bother to mention where i could go to have his vaccinations done. The fish rots from the head down Im afraid this hospital is not what it used to be. If i had to do it over again i would not choose this hospital.

Other than my awesome gynie and a friendly nurse or two, my experience after labour here was nothing short of a nightmare! Nursing staff, specifically the nightstaff, were uncaring and rude. I was very ill postpartum and they basically thought nothing of it/thought I was faking- as my husband overheard the gossip. They belittled and dismissed me. I had promises that they would assist me now-now and then was left alone, unable to walk and breathe properly if I so much as lifted my head. The next day doctors discovered I was dangerously low on iron. If it wasnt for my husband staying overnight with me, the experience wouldve been more traumatic. As a first time mom they contributed immensely to my postpartum depression. Disappointed that my family hospital was a letdown. Dont let me get started on how they messed up when my dad was admitted due to heartattack. Even though I love my gynie, I will never return. So good job Kingsbury nurses, you cost someone a client.

No refund since February! (Its now July)I was admitted on February 18th for a Same Day procedure and had to make an upfront payment. My insurance paid out to Life Kingsbury by March 6th.I didnt receive my refund automatically (why not?) And had to go to Kingsbury physically to ask about the refund. I was told that the only person who deals with refunds was on leave and I couldnt be helped, I had to wait until she was back.By the time she returned from leave, all she did was give me a form that I had to fill (why did I have to wait until she returned from leave to be given a form?) I filled the form the same day, with proof of my bank account, details that are already on their system, and proof of ID (which they already have on their system) and was told that it would still take 7-10 business days to process.12 business days later I called the head office refund department and was told that the ONE person who deals with Kingsbury refunds was, yes, you guessed it, ON LEAVE! And I had to wait a little bit more time before it was processed.Several days later, guess what, I called back, they said it was processed and it should hit my bank account within 24 hours. Ive since been calling and promised that they would follow up, but the money has still not hit my bank account. I called back today, 7 days after the initial Money will hit your account in 24 hours and they said THE EXACT SAME THING! Itll hit your account in 24 hours! You KNOW that if it was the other way around and if I owed the hospital even R1, Id have FINAL NOTICEs coming out of my ears!Horrible service.
