Rust en Vreugd, is a historic house and garden, located on Buitekant Street at the edge of the central business district of Cape Town, South Africa. It is one of the few remaining 18th-century buildings in the city. The Rust en Vreudg is home to the William Fehr Collection of pictorial Africana.
Visited last week. The building and grounds are seriously neglected. What ought to be one of the countrys museological gems appears to have been removed from maintenance schedules. The small collection of historical prints and water-colours is worth seeing.
Lovely gem of Old Cape Town, the William Fehr Collection and the building itself tell an interesting story if you manage to be there on a Thursday or a Friday (only)!
Beautiful venue for an outdoor wedding event reception. Lovely garden area and quaint pink building. Parking area isnt too great .
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had dealing with any institution. The staff were rude. On my wedding day they tried to kick out my guests as they said we only paid until 1pm even though we paid extra time until 3:30
Historical home set in a cityscape.. worth visiting
Beautiful old house. Garden needs a bit of work
The food are good, however the service needs a little work. The chef is not a very friendly person but his food are good.
One of the beautiful gardens Ive ever seen. Small but refreshing.
Very disappointed. Very little furniture in the house. Property needs a lot of maintenance and upstairs of the house not open for public. Only accepts cash. Dont think I will return until I hear improvements have been done.
