Buyer Beware! My wife and I visited the store called Mumpikudi Leather Shop which is located in the corner of the Water Shed building at the V&A Waterfront.I purchased a pair of brown leather saddles (Kudu Grandpa 1 Vanessa) and was told by the salesperson (the owner’s son) that the shoe would last 12 to 15 years. It looked to me like it was of reasonable quality build and does definitely appear to be handmade is SA. Well after having worn the shoe for just 2 days (and I did not walk on any harsh terrain) the heal on one shoe started to separate. We brought them back the next few days to get a refund only to be told that we he would not give us a refund. We wanted a refund because he said that the shoe would last 12 to 15 years and even though he wanted to exchange to another pair, we weren’t confident that the same issue would appear again. In fact upon close inspection of other pairs our assumptions were correct. After an hour of quarreling we didn’t want to spoil our vacation any further and decided to take another pair. We left the place very disappointed.I decided to right this article because the salespersons tactic is not ethical. Please be aware when purchasing from this store!
