Modern and extremely comfortable. Very clean and the staff are polite and friendly. The air-conditioning is a a bit confused could be a thermostat issue with them being manual instead of digital. It shows 15 degrees but feels like 20/22.But the location is the best views could be great depending on the room but it has plenty of windows. Meal service is great Id say 5 stars even during the pandemic.

My experience at this hotel was absolutely fantastic. From service to the food, everything was amazing. Covid protocols are in place and everyone adhered to the protocols too. It was not crowded at all too.

My family has enjoyed many special luncheons at Southern Sun Waterfront. The reason is that were always made to feel special. The food has never disappointed and even though were always a big group, we dont feel restricted. So we just chill, sit back and enjoy good food. Kid friendly and accessible for my physically challenged daughter. Great job SS! See ya soon😊

The porters was very helpfull and the lady at reception so receiving and friendly. The room was magnificent with crispy thick towels and even a scale to weigh oneself in the bathroom. The fridge were stocked and the view magnificent. Will definitely see me again. Thank for this amazing experience.

The hotel is amazing and the stuff is really good, nice people and they attend your needs... Unfortunately theres a manager there thats very very rude, firstly he told me there were no rooms available because I wanted to move since the WiFi in my room wasnt working.When I told him Ive been staying in hotels for about 15 years because of my work and I know the system, only then he gave me a key to another room where I can use Wi-Fi, no apologies no words just take and no eye contact.. And unfortunately thats not allI would have given 5 stars but, disrespect is disrespect

Nice calm hotel. Perfect for business trips. Had an encounter with a not so friendly waitress over a completely absurd incident and I think they should work on customer service within the eateries. The rest though are very friendly, and even in the restaurant it was just the one. Room cleanliness should also be improved. My bathtub had stains.

The staff is so welcoming, friendly and always willing to help. Everything during the stay was absolutely incredible. I am so grateful they were able to take in other displaced during the cape town fire.

Overall it was a good stay. The location was perfect as it was a short walk to V&A Waterfront. The rooms were also clean and comfortable.The only area that requires improvement is the breakfast setup. Things were a bit disorganised in terms of serving guests, staff seemed a bit overwhelmed.

Traveling with an infant, firstly as every parent knows is very demanding and tiring. We checked in to the hotel and when switching on the air-con the room smelt and felt like we were in a smoking section of a casino. Being 8:30 pm in the evening with a sleeping infant and four months pregnant is not an appropriate time to be moving or requesting a room change. In the morning the manager on duty Mr Yonela changed our room as quickly as he could but still doesn’t change the night of frustration and discomfort for us let alone the impact on what secondary smoke does to a infant or pregnant woman.Have no fault with the staff though, they were all incredibly friendly and so helpful.So at least one positive!

The family room was extremely small. Was disappointed at the service as well extremely disappointed with the breakfast. They could have given us a bigger variety with items individually packed due to covid. I would not go back and stay at this hotel. Southern sun hotels need to up their standards. The staff from the reception, dining area and house keeping are very friendly and super efficient. Our stay was comfortable although our aircon leaked on the first night and didnt work well for the rest of our stay.Breakfast was ok as well with friendly chefs.I must say the rooms seem small if theres two beds inside. View from 14th floor.

An amazing mothers day.

I stayed for a week some years ago and it was wonderful: awesome breakfast, clean and quiet rooms and beautiful views with friendly service. Unfortunately it was a business trip and had no time to try the pool (there is a gym available but I preferred to run by the shore all the way to Clifton).

I fell in love with this hotel. Everything about it was exceptional. The staff, service, rooms, decor, and location were absolutely a 5-star. If ever I decide to revisit South Africa, and I do, I will stay here. Oh, and it is a short walk to the V&A waterfront. And if you dont want to walk, they offer a shuttle service.

Excellent hotel with a great service and very friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay. Especially the lady at the breakfast buffet, who prepares the fried eggs, has improved our mood on every single morning. Almost contagious. We will miss her. We need to come back, definitely!

Great service. Very friendly staff. They offer a shuttle bus to the Waterfront mall. The buffet breakfast is really good. And the location of the hotel overall is fantastic. Small but complete gym and cute small swimming pool. The bar often has a live music show.

Great stay. Friendly staff. Parking rather expensive and no explanation was given on how to use the card to park your car under. But they were very quick to charge for parking the car in the parking lot overnight. Breakfast as usual, go for gold with the pastries. Outside the hotel, try not to be out around peak times like 4pm and 8am as traffic is a nightmare if youre trying to go out anywhere

This is a massive 4 to 5 star city centre hotel just a 20 minute stroll from the V&A waterfront. We stayed 24 hours due to a flight technical problem. The staff coped with checking in and feeding 300 people at midnight at short notice. Very comfortable. Great staff. We had four excellent all you can eat buffet meals in the time we were there.

Great stay. Staff are very welcoming when you arrive. Rooms are comfortable as expected. Theyhave a shuttle to the waterfront which is pretty convenient.Staying in town also has its advantages as you generally drive opposite to traffic.

The hospitality was of great paramount. We missed our toiletry bag then reported to security who made some internal investigations and later handed the bag to us. The accommodation was quite good with two double beds for a couple and two small kids. Free shuttle to and fro waterfront mall. I recommend the hotel to anyone.

The service here is out of this world. Friendly staff that are always willing to assist. There are awesome views from the rooms and the location is prime.I had great friendly service from Thabani at the bar and it was nice to meet the tourists that frequent the hotel. The bar even had some live music.The room was spacious and clean, aircon worked well and the view was spectacular. You can feel the Cape Town vibe.Ample safe parking in the basement.The special thing about this hotel is the breakfast. Apparently it is known for the great breakfasts and as a food lover I can say they really cater for every need with excellent quality food and friendly service. Expect a free espresso, cappuccino or whatever you like.The pool at the back at night has beautiful lights that really relaxes you.Really well worth a visit.

Building is getting a bit dated. Vegetarian options on the menu are severely lacking.

The Hotel is clean and in a good location. Staff are friendly but are disorganised and dont co-ordinate. You can be waiting ages for service at breakfast or in the bar as they will get confused or simply forget. In some cases they will pass the order to someone else and then they get confused about who is supposed to be serving. Some days are better than others. I blame the management. Dont get me wrong the Hotel is not bad but be prepared for erratic and confused service.

I always use this hotel as it is very central. The V&A waterfront is a stone throw away. It’s Clean ,lovely pool, Rooms are comfortable with Air-cons, The Bar is good well stocked and lovely bar menu if you looking for a bite to eat. The Breakfast buffet is large with a great selection of hot and cold food. Family friendly,staff are pleasant. Good place to stay.
