Beautiful pristine beach. No better place if the wind is not too strong.- Water temperature can be cold if there has been strong SE winds.- If the waves are big swim with caution, there are strong rip currents in middle of the beach.- great snorkelling on calmer days near rocks on either end.- dogs to kept on leash to preserve wildlife.- stay off the dunes that are in rehab.
……Our children visiting from Europe wanted to visit a beach on Boxing Day and although we knew most beaches will be full and our favourite beach is Strand we still obliged and packed the car with the necessary, beach-umbrella, chairs and through-about. When we arrived at Strand there was a traffic jam just trying to get to the beach-front so this was fruitless. So we decided to take the a drive on one of the worlds most scenic and spectacular marine drives around Gordons Bay to Betty’s Bay and about kilometres we saw the sign Pringle Bay so we turned in and just drove through and just as we were ready to turn around we happened on this gem of a find. There was a cut out with parking for about fifteen cars and there a space or two free so we turned in parked and was true-lii blown away with this. The Overstand Pringle Bay beach it looked more like a private beach. Nice stone-stepping pathway leading to the beach. There is a very well maintained Toilet Facility, very clean and even had toilet-paper available. One can immediate-lii come to the conclusion that the people around here real-lii care for the environment as one saw on the pathway there is a fish-line deposit point where anglers could trow away the old spent fishing gut and not leave it laying around on the beach. Th beach was empty with just a family enjoying the sunshine, an anglers or two with one kayaker. At least now we know where to find a quiet spot to relax away from the maddening crowds …….NB! On the way here is a neat niff-tii shopping centre where almost anything can be purchased!…..

A great beach to explore in Winter when theres no wind
White sand, uncrowded and great waves!!
Best beach for surfing/body boarding. Much colder than the bay.
This is my favourite beach ever. It has a bit of everything to offer. About a kilometer of white sand perfect for an evening or early morning stroll. Beautiful sunsets. Rock pools which is perfect for toddlers to play in to the left of the main beach and a lagoon which is also lovely for babies and young children to the right of the main beach. Beware of ocean currents and only swim between the lifeguard beacons towards the left side of the beach. Surf enthusiasts brave the right side of the beach regularly.
One of Cape Towns gems, surrounded by mountains, this scenic destination is the perfect break-away to have a family picnic at the beach. Escape the crowd and enjoy a peaceful nature experience on an unspoilt beach. Weekends can also be booked online with a variety of accommodation options, walking distance from the beach.
Could be windy but very nice beaches with white sandy dunes.
Best secured beach in the region!
Excellent Clean and well cared for.
Beautiful place we must remember two ingredients that makes a person live. Its seeing green and coming home and leaving in peace. May the city look at natures way as the best physiotherapy. ...
Clean and relaxed atmosphere. The only crit - more visible bins. Only one at the launch pad entrance. Bins at each pathway to beach - on the beach side, so it is visible to all at the beach. This will also encourage people to pick up any rubbish they see on beach.
Pristine beach where the water is usually as cold as the water on the West Coast. Fine white sand and also the natural breeding place for the black oyster catcher (swart tobies). No shops line the beach. Dogs on leashes allowed. Lovely mountains and nature.
Perfect spot to drive into majestic atlantic
A very beautiful beach to spend with family and friends. Very safe and child friendly. We enjoyed our time
Lovely litte town. We are having some mussels for supper tonight collected at low tide.
Lovely place
Stunning beach !
The best beach. Enjoy swimming in the sea. Lifeguards on duty. Early morning and late night walks on the beach where you can meet the locals. Love this beach
The muncipal toilets are okay as public toilets go, but as you enter the beach the experience fades as pristine sand, blue water, rock pools and a kid friendly lagoon come into panoramic view. The waves are fun, minimal undertow and rip and even at peak visiting times there is space to swing a large tiger. So what is the secret of the beachs apparent exclusivity? Answer...Upwelling. As the South East wind blows the warm layer of water out to the middle of false bay, clear nutrient and oxygen rich water wells up to replace the surface water. It can be ankle chilling cold. A full length wetsuit will help make Pringle a pleasant experience.
I was there for a few days and surfed, hiked in the world heritage site around Pringle. Saw steenbok, 8 otter, Franklin and rooikat. Now Im gone look for a plot near the beach :)
Beautiful! Fishing and swimming is great. Tanning is also wonderful as the hills protect you from the wind.
Clean, conservation conscious.
Pringle is a special place, perfect for recharging the batteries. The beach (and pringle) can be windy but its always worth putting on a jacket and taking a walk to the lagoon and along the rocky coastline if youre feeling more adventurous.
Fantastic swimming beach. Not too crowded even on the busiest days of the year. The water is usually crystal clear and the waves generally small since the beach is parallel top the main swell. Summer water temperatures range from 16 to 23 degrees and the prevailing wind is offshore
Chilled walk on the beach
Beautiful beach, open sand & rock pools. Dolphins swam in close as we walked by.
So clean, neat and not very popular which makes it a great place for games and dogs-lots of space. Water can be really cold sometimes but what a beautiful beach to unwind
Clean and beautiful, developed but with a natural area of dunes and beach
Had the best time walking and enjoying the sun on a winters afternoon.
A magical place to walk your dogs. Especially at Sunset
Always beautiful and clean
Nice and quite beach
Surrounded by nature reserve and beautiful mountains the beach is an untouched jewel. The beach is long and ends is a lagoon safe for children to swim in.
Pristine beach. Warm water
Had a beautiful experience fishing on main beach , the locals are friendly.
Quite windy, but the beach itself is nice and clean. Lots of dog lovers which makes it awesome
Beautifully secluded beach with great views of the surrounding mountains and you have that feeling of being one with nature. Be careful of the strong rip current if swimming, it can be deceiving.
Magical place. Living this close to the ocean is such a blessing
Beautiful place for a breakaway. Nice beach and walls
The most beautiful place to live!
Stunning! Soft white sand, lovely waves, beautiful mountains and aweso beach visitors!
Absolutely beautifull. Fun in the sun. Soft white sand and great fishing
Beautiful place with friendly people.
Such a beautiful place. It isnt usually crowded like the other beaches close by.
So Relaxing
This is a quiet but excellent place to visit and to stay.
Unspoilt and beautiful coastline. A gorgeous drive
One of my favourite beaches. Has a lagoon for swimming during riptides and spring tide.
Lovely holiday spot. Lots of little shops and a market.
Nothing but good things to say about pringle bay, great for holidays and get aways
Wonderful beach. Over on the far right of the beach is a small inlet that is great for the kids.
Beaitiful!!
Beautiful beach. It can get windy here.
My favorite beach so far. Clean, quiet and BIG
What a beautiful beac! Secluded and well maintained.
Clean beach and dog-friendly, really nice.

Pristine beach in a beautiful setting.
Just love the calm atmosphere! And friendly visitors
Beautiful but a bit windy
Incredibly beautiful beach in an equally beautiful town
Awesome beach and natural beauty.
Great waves for body boarding...the surfers can get a bit close and become a threat.
Unbelievable little spot to visit. Story book experience
