An old structure of a Windmill which needs a face lift. If history is your thing and youre in the area you may find it interesting.
Very neglected. Something should be done to restore the mill.
A mournful reflection of its former self. I remember the way this mill looked after its 1984 restoration: vibrant and a joy to behold. Now its a sad reminder of what it _could_ be.
A historic landmark!
The attraction of Onze Molen is the pleasant surprise of such a quaint historical structure in the midst of (these days) surburbian Durbanville. Its immediate surrounds is also quite unusual and attractive. There are no tours or access to the structure itself.
In 1840 a mill was built and was used as a windmill until the early 1900s when the roof, wings and machinery were removed. It was then used as a horse mill until it became derelict and was turned into a labourer’s cottage. In 1963 it was restored based on Mostert Mill. It is a beautiful place and sceren place to enjoy on a day out.
Great quick stop to get a blast from the past. However aftee 8 minutes not much to do
Peaceful surroundings for a walk
Historic interest.
Currently a bit run down but still worth a look
Nice place but the monument is falling apart
You would not expect this Wind Mill hidden away in Durbanville. The only reason I turned into Onze Molen was because of Pokemon Go.. He He...
