Worst scheme. All the benefits listed during the sales calls are not adhered to. Couldnt find a doctor on their network of Doctors, called to asked for assistance, they told me they cant help me. Ive emailed them and no one responds. Waste of money. Stay away

Bad service and trust me when I say unlimited means you can go as much as you want. At essential med it means 5 visits. You can pay as much as you want the day you need it thy just say cant help. Ppl if you have money to waste go join them.

I will never advice anyone to join essential med. They are full of lies and excuses. They dont want to pay for anything. My son can loose hes foot. I will not stop blacklisting their name. PLEASE DONT JOIN ESSENTIAL MED

Very poor service. They canceled my policy without communication only realized when I went to the doctor yet they were still taking my premiums. I asked for refunds its been more Than month they have not yet paid. Stay away from this medical insurance

This is better than a medical aid as you have unlimited drs visits.I have been with them just over 2 years and have had the BEST service for me and my 2 boys.THANK YOU for looking after us the way you do......Zelda Ferreira has been a star in assisting me so much after my accident.THANK YOU

Excellent service and efficiency by Bradford Smith. Because of him my experience of the company is great so far. Lets hope the rest of the company that I deal with from now meet the same standard he has set.

Truly disappointed. I regret becoming a member at such a pathetic place. Waiting 5 months for a simple authorization and now I have to cough up doctors fees. They take their money religiously every month but when you need them, they not willing to assist.

This is a useless service and a scam. They take monthly premiums but they dont pay out any claims, to you or doctors. But they always have excuses as to why the dont pay out. Stay away.

Be warned! Essential Med are TERRIBLY! Their formulary is so limited they cover almost nothing, hardly any medication and they ask you to pay for a Specialist, they only cover some Specialists, then refund you a small portion months later if you happen to be admitted by the Specialist only. They are really a awful medical insurance. No stated amount they cover even to their own maximum, ever. Its impossible almost to get authorisation. Avoid

I rate them zero. I am still waiting for the recording of when i joined them because i want to take them further. I wrote a mail to Testwin he did not even bother to answer my mail.

Essential Med is the WORST scam con people EVER. After paying over R64k of fees over a long period, when I had a medical emergency the hospitals, doctors and even paramedics wont take essential med cards, because they have such a horrible reputation and DONT PAYTHEIR BILLS. When I called them to ask what was going on, I was told oh well people cancel all the time. No sorry Ill refund you or sort something else. So I am left R64800.00 short, of stolen and no medical aid insurance because of these corrupt people. DONT EVER USE THESE PEOPLE, they WILL take your money and you will NEVER see a cent back and get NOTHING absolutely NOTHING in return or refunded. They should be shut down and be put in jail for thieves. I really hope a CEO or partner reads this and actually has the courage and honesty and integrity to make it right and give my money back. But I am betting the corruption will win in this country.

Would rate 0 if possible. No response on emails. Useless policy. Waste of money. Near impossible to cancel. Still awaiting a response after a week after multiple cancelation submissions.
