I was extremely nervous as I had never worn my hair short before. Mishka really took her time to listen to my ideas, doubts and reasons and gave me good, well rounded advice. Ive been going to Excentric for months now and Rosadah always does a stellar job. I have highlighted 2A/2B wavy hair and Rosadah does a beautiful job cutting, styling and dying 😍I also have a dry, sensitve scalp which she is always keeping an eye on and helping me keep healthy.

My hair is beautiful and curly and bouncy.However, we feel there were some communication issues, especially with my gfs stylist.The stylist had almost started blow drying the hair without discussing additional fees with us first.We also felt the intense pressure to buy expensive after care products, made it uncomfortable at times.Lastly the stylist spoke about my gf as if she wasnt there. Discussing all the options for her hair with colleagues, but not the client.Making her feel like a Styrofoam head instead of a customer.Im coming back, but I dnt think my gf will

Chose the salon based on the online reviews as well as ‘precision cutting, advanced colour, personalised look’ etc advertised, but was quite disappointed.The salon is beautiful and one feels relaxed however the cut and colour was terrible.Hair length is uneven and the worst cut I’ve ever had with no consideration to the hair texture.Colour was not what was communicated.The hairstylist was going between clients and seemed in a hurry.The online prices also differed from thefinal charge.Paid a fortune for a waste of my time and a messed up cut and colour.Would not trust a stylist there based on my experience.

I booked their Ultimate Curly Girl Experience about six weeks ago and my appointment finally came around last Thursday. I was very excited to have my hair analysed and cut by a curly professional. Ive been considering whether to post this review since then, as my feelings were initially mixed – the in depth analysis of my hair and scalp was incredibly interesting and useful, and the treatments part of it was great, but when it came to the cut, things got less great. The weekend has now passed and every time I walk past a mirror I get angrier and more upset. For me, its very important to communicate what you expect to a hairdresser, but equally important for them to communicate with you. I had an image of the hairstyle I wanted, and the stylist said that my hair was at that length already and asked if I was willing to go a little shorter. I said she could take it a little shorter, and showed her on my hair, which when pulled straight came down the middle of my breast. I gave her and inch and a half. I told her I didnt want it short. Not only did she cut half the length off my hair, she gave me a completely different hairstyle to the one I requested. I now have a jaw skimming bob. Im not saying the hairstyle is bad, but its not even in the same country as the one I wanted. Had she discussed this with me upfront, I would not have agreed to it as I hate bobs. Something she would know if she had said, Hey, I want to give you a bob instead of deciding to surprise me. I really believe hairdressers are there to provide the service you want, especially at the R1300 the experience costs. If they consider themselves artists, they need to work in film or on the runway, not in a salon where their clients need to live with the hairstyle the stylist has decided suits them for several months. Trustworthy hairstylists are about as rare as trustworthy American presidents. If you find one, stick to them. I did not find one at Excentrix on Kloof.

Ive always had great experiences getting my hair coloured there. The staff are welcoming and friendly.Mish was amazing, she helped me with dying my hair blue, she made sure I liked the dye before it went on my hair and explained how to maintain my hair colour for longer and how to keep my hair healthy.

Both Mishka and Flo listened to my concerns and I took onboard their advice.In my humble opinion, Flo has an amazing team working for him. The salon is relaxed and a professional environment. Almost every attempt was made to ensure you feel relaxed and enjoyed your experience. I went for a curly hair trim and they used curly-hair friendly products, which is a big plus. I liked that the hairstylist took a few minutes to find out exactly what I wanted and was comfortable with what we spoke about! The wash was amazing, the lovely head massage was the highlight for me. The trim that I got was good although I doubt I would have a specific haircut/style cut there. The styling wasnt very good, very little product was used to really define and moisturize my hair. I would also add, that appointments needs to be spaced out better to ensure there are no long waiting times. Other than that, the service I got was well worth the price, which is very affordable!!

She cut quite a bit of my afro as i know i had damage for not maintaining my trims.James also gives the best washes and massages! he was really gentle with my hair , even with the detangling.James and another lady started doing finger coils to my hair. I have curly hair and I had an appointment with the curly hair specialist for a haircut. The experience was amazing and I loved the haircut. However, she clearly did not know how to style my hair type and the end result was a floppy mess. I wasnt too disappointed since the purpose of my visit was a haircut and I did get a very good one.(Edit): The salon invited me back for a redo of my wash and style after the above review. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this gesture, it really showed the managements commitment to excellent service. The appointment went really well and there was a definite improvement on the styling. I genuinely appreciate the fact that the stylist attempted to correct my previous experience and I am extremely happy with the level of service and the amazing experience offered at Excentric on Kloof.

My eye colour, skin tone and face shape were all considered to make the perfect cut and colour choices. The team works beautifully together and treats each client with great care and consideration. The hair wash and massage experience is fantastic and lastly, in this tricky time of running a hair salon in a pandemic, they are fanatical about mask wearing and sanitizing. If youre going to have to cover half your face, you may as well have great hair, right? Thanks to Flo and team. I will not be trying another hairdresser as long as Im in Cape Town.
