Fabulous ... clean and beautifully appointed courtyard room with stunning gardens, a heated pool and lots of space for our dogs to stretch their legs after being stuck in the car for 8 hrs. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful surprise. The House and gardens are gorgeous. We loved it so much we asked to extend our stay and Sally was more than accommodating. So we stayed in 2 different rooms and both are beautifully decorated. The garden room has a wonder view of the mountain. You will be served a full hot breakfast each morning with many choices. We were served each morning on the garden terrace which over looked the beautiful mountain and grounds. The location was perfect with about 8 vineyards and wineries within only a 10 min drive and most serve food. But there are so many other lovey restaurants with nice relaxed settings. Sally and Mike also gave us maps, binoculars and directions many other beautiful places to explore. There are just to many places to mention. The coast roads are breath taking. Thank you Mike and Sally. You really are the perfect host. We will be back.

The hosts could not have been more helpful and friendly. Our accommodation had bedroom, kitchenette and spacious bathroom. Also a lovely courtyard where we ate our lunches. Close to the vineyards. We walked through them to the local restaurant a couple of times during our stay. Breakfasts ...... amazing.

Wow, it really is heavenly here. If I had to define peace, Dongola guest house would definitely be it. From when you walk through the gate you will experience a bliss only found in movies reeeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyy. The family culture does not want you to leave. The location, the rooms, the staff, the pool and sunbathing lounge area, greenery and birds that say their hellos is pure POETRY IN MOTION. Thank you Natalie, Mike and Sally for an awesome honeymoon. Dongola Guest House is the most beautiful place to relax and unwind.The setting with the a stunning view of the mountains is breathtaking. The rooms are all very clean and well cared for, and the home cooked breakfasts are the best, especially the English Breakfast, or the scrambled eggs with salmon. And you get to eat outside, poolside with the amazing view. The hosts Sally and Mike are very gracious, and very helpful with all sort of questions. They can provide local drivers for outings, who are knowledgeable about the area. Walking distance to local wineries and the town center.I give Sally and Mike the very highest ratings for making our recent trip so memorable. Thank you so much.

Dongola is a truly awesome experience with wonderfully appointed rooms, lovely facilities and living areas, gorgeous outdoor rest areas and views.Sally and Mike and staff are very friendly and totally on top of things with amazing attention to detail! The breakfasts are devine and the cosy fireplaces are a fantastic welcome in after days out.I highly recommend it and one evening when my wife came to visit (Im here for work), she said this is the the place she wants to break away, despite us living just over the mountain only a few kms away 😀Will definitely be back (if theres room of course!). A fantastic location to start our journey through South Africa. After arriving at the airport in Cape Town, we were picked up by a taxi arranged by them. Bedroom was very cozy and big enough for family with child of 4 and a baby. Wake up between the hills in the swimming pool. Breakfast was all you want to start the day, then muesli eggs, choice of around 10 different dishes made by sally. She was also very helpful in explaining things to do in the immediate area, including large constantia, with which she gave free vouchers for the wine tour. Cape Town and beaches can also be reached within a 15-minute drive. Friendly other guests who have been coming back for years.
