Spend a lovely time at cape standard. The hotel location is perfect for a city visit and/or discovering the beautiful cape.Paddington was a perfect host.Next time we are in cape town, this will be our place to stay.

Great location, setting and relaxed atmosphere. Margo was an amazing host, giving us great tips on places to visit, making our reservations and her great passion for South Africa. Paddington also deserves a mention for his great hospitality and positivity.

Beautiful boutique hotel - rooms are lovely and plenty of areas to relax around the hotel and pool area. So many lovely personal touches too. Cant wait to go back!

Check -in 10November 2017, the place speak for its self, the minute I step in the guest house I felt like I was in a other country or content, my room had a view that was out of this world, birds singing, the boat hooter from the dock yard and the smell of the fresh air, Palm trees and the high buildings. The breakfast Set-up was amazing the stuff itself was very helpful and friendly too!.......

Situated in a quiet area but near to the buzz of downtown Cape Town this is a delightful little guest house with wonderful helpful staff who go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and are able to arrange tours at short notice.

Was a really nice stay only downside is that if the guesthouse is busy it is very loud from early in the morning on. At least in the room we have been staying.

The stay at the Cape Standard Guest House was very nice. We had a room that was a bit apart from the others, just perfect for us. There we had a small veranda that was in the green. Our room was perfectly adequate for 2 people. The bed was very comfortable and we always slept well. In the evenings we sometimes found biscuits as small gifts. The CSGH employees are all very friendly and helpful. If you are planning excursions, check whether, for example, the Table Mountain cable car is open, or what the weather will be like. Other interesting information is, for example, local markets. We liked this very much and we were very grateful for it. We especially remember Paddington from the staff, they are super personable and very helpful. Breakfast is ok. We ate the muesli every morning, but there are also rolls or bread. We also drank tea, but coffee is also offered. It was nice that different smoothies were served every morning. We would book the Cape Standard Guest House again on our next visit to Cape Town, the location is just great, the people super friendly and all in all its a little oasis. Parking spaces are in front of the CSGH.

We stayed at the Cape Standard Guest House for 5 nights. It is a cozy, small guest house in a good location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. At the time we were there (beginning of September) the outdoor facilities were still under renovation and sometimes very dirty, which is understandable due to the pre-season, but then you should not ask the same prices as in the high season.The breakfast was okay, but the selection wasnt very diverse.My biggest and probably worst problem was that money (100 euros) was stolen from my room. It was my fault that I didnt put it in the existing safe, but I expect a trustworthy staff from an accommodation in this price range. Margot at the front desk offered me to interview her staff using a polygraph. The problem: I would have had to bear the costs myself.Its a shame that our wonderful Cape Town vacation had to end like this. I have learned from it, and for this reason do not recommend the Cape Standard!

The accommodation exceeded expectations. Cozy and spacious room, the bathroom is not even mentioned, you can have a party inside so big. The breakfast is abundant and very tasty, and they still appear with treats like something to eat or a freshly made fruit juice. Best of all, it is located in a strategic point close to many points of interest.The service is not even talked about, all very careful. If I go back to Cape Town I will definitely stay there again.

Nice place to retire quietly in Cape Town. Easy access. Parking space. The staff is nice and very kind (thank you Paddington :)). Breakfast good and plentiful but fairly standard. The room we had was spacious and very functional. I recommend this place.
