Friendly host, great company who made you feel welcome. Julian was really a fantastic host. Had a great stay, very relaxed. Large room and bathroom, very clean, neat and nice interior. Great views from all the rooms, either overlooking the pool and Lions Head or De Waal Park and Table Mountain. Overall a great experience.

Owner went through my stuff, put me in a different room without my knowledgeWow. Lets cut to the chase: the owners of the hotel went into my room, packed up all my stuff, and then moved me into another room without my permission / knowledge / consent. He was then visibly upset (i.e. yelling at me) at me for not comparing the exact details of my room versus what I had booked (apparently I had initially been upgraded - unbeknownst to me) and then realizing I would be moved. Obviously that was a terrible experience and I left to another hotel. But lets discuss some other aspects as well:Wifi: terrible. Cuts in and out. Slow. Very unreliable.Breakfast: average would be flattering. It was supposed to be from 8 am to 10 am. By 9 am, breakfast was still not served. Thats not helpful when youre trying to make plans with limited time in a city. The actual meal was a microwaved croissant plus a few pieces of lunch meat. The coffee was instant. Dont get hopes up for a nice elegant breakfast.Rooms: average/good. I couldnt find a bed sheet, so that was kind of gross. But the rooms were nice overall. My initial room had a balcony, which had a cool view of Table Mountain and the park.Common areas: average. The pool is dirty and not well kept (apparently its a clothing optional pool too?). Not a selling point for me, but perhaps others like that. The honesty fridge (where you could purchase inexpensive beers, water, etc.) was cute. Location itself is decent. A kilometer or two away from most attractions, but not too far.Overall, would never stay here again. Buyer beware.

Tales of the City 😉 - small, very charming guesthouse in Cape Town right on Table Mountain. Optimal location, much on foot or with Uber to reach. Beautiful spacious rooms - some with balcony - fantastic view of Table Mountain. The highlight is the host Julian - he provides communication among the guests, is the contact for all questions and you feel at home quickly. A great start to the holiday.
