Although the process of car reregistration took long, and understandably so due to the current pandemic, I commend all the staff at Durbanville Municipality for their professionalism, politeness and understanding. Neil was immensely helpful and both my service agents at the desk facilitated my process as painlessly as possible. Thank you to all security for ensuring Covid protocols where adhered to and for keeping our community safe. Much respect to all for top class service delivery during very trying times!

Waited 2 hours in the line had a person come around and ask what we are there for. Showed them my papers of what I had and was told it was fine. Just to get to the front of the line 2 hours later to be sent away.

The queue was understandable, we experience it at most service offices but that aside, it was a very smooth and easy process. The cashier even explained everything and advised,great service and strict Covid regulations adhered to.

Long queues in the morning. It is better to go early afternoon. The sanitation is good and all surfaces are sanitised after each customer and covid screening is done prior to entering.

Was there for vehicle registration, started queuing at 7:00 and I was 28th in line. They kept pulling people out the queue for license renewals. The reason was that they only had 2 desks open for it and 3 for registrations, but that didnt make sense to me because by 10am us there for registrations had not moved. So I left and went to brakenfell, I recommend them instead.

I was amazed with the great service I received today. Not at all what I was expecting. I arrived there at 15:05, did a covid screening, completed a yellow and blue form and was helped promptly by a friendly gentleman who also pointed me to two places nearby for my new number plates. I walked out again at 15:25. I lived in Tableview for 13 years and was use to the service received in Milnerton. Being a new resident in the Northern Sub, the service revieved outshined Milnerton by far. Keep it up.

August 2020: queue very long rather renew your license at postnet. Theres a huge backlog of people having to renew their licenses and the municipality is running on skeleton staff. You will stand in queue for 3-4 hours (unless youre a senior citizen).Im sure Durbanville municipality would be much better under normal circumstances though.

I went to licence my newly acquired vehicle. The attending staff member was unfriendly, officious and curt. There was one date not filled in with which she then refused to complete the transaction. Unacceptable service!

What backward state mentality that you have to pay City of Cape Town a yearly Vehicle License fee for their service and yet they make you wait 3 hours in a queue just so that you can pay them. And yet, if we dont pay them for their service or you missed your license renewal date, they have the nerve to fine you.

Queues are barely moving. Very long waiting times to renew vehicle licence (moved 20 m in 2.5 hrs) Be prepared to take a day or two off work to stand in the queue. They should really rethink this. Very frustrating. Online also not working. Waiting weeks for reference number to pay

Ineffective and unapologetically your typical government institutions. Long lines of unable to be processed within a reasonable time.This would be my forth time standing inline to renew my vehicle license. Western Cape needs to follow other provinces in allowing you to do so at the post office.

I just renewed my vehicle license here (2019-12-17). Queue was out the door and down the steps when I arrived at about 08h00. In spite of that was able to renew within 20 minutes. The system worked like a well-oiled machine and everyone was very courteous and helpful.I think many other bureaucracies can (and should) take a few lessons from Durbanville. Well done!

I unfortunately cant rate this a Zero. Truely one of the worst access controlled situations Ive been in for Covid-19. Stood for over 2 hours for the Q hardly to move (left in the end, as no way were we going to be helped by 15:30 closing) - yet the Q for the people of age were pushed ahead. My estimate, 70% of the people in the Q were blatantly not of retirement age or disabled.

The staff are very friendly and helpfull. Really great idea of them having a gentleman outside to come to you and hear what type of transaction you are coming to do and ensuring you have the correct documents before wasting your own time. What a breath of fresh air from a government department. I usually come here to do my license renewals, and it has always been a positive experience, but this morning it was on another level. Within moments of walking in I noticed a friendly lady going around laying out seating, checking on more senior individuals that they were assisted promptly, and assisting everyone in making sure they were in the right place, and had the right paperwork. I had only brought my drivers license as ID, and she promptly went to check if I was FICA registered so I could use it as an acceptable form of ID. Thankfully I was. All counters were open and cards accepted for fast moving queues. Please keep it up guys!

Had to renew my licence disc today here for the first time. Reception was helpful in pointing me in the right direction right away. Got to the renewal area, saw a massive queue and thought it would take ages.Pulled out the ALV form as usual, but someone from the department stopped me and said its no longer necessasary, and I just need a copy of my ID, which he made for me quick while i was in queue. Sat down with the copy, took about 10 minutes from start to finish (with a queue of 20+ people).Super simple, super quick. Really pleased with this experience. Keep it up!

Great service for a government department. Very efficient! Best to go after lunch to avoid queues. One complaint I have though is that the lighting needs to be improved as it is very dimly lit. One thing to note when you are making payment is that you need to take cash as they dont always accept cards.

Queues can be really long, bring a book (maybe thats why the library is next-door).More people could be hired to shorten the queues and it could definitely do with some upgrades so its less depressing and parking always seems to be so full no idea why.

I got there at 8:20 and left before 9:00. I can confirm, they have aircoolers for hot days, plenty of seats & card machines. Theres 4 helping stations. The people there, looked depressed, but I dont blame them. Happy with service.

Overall service is average for a municipality. Between 12 and 2 theres usually a huge line and you can easily spend more than an hour here. Theres usually a shortage of staff for the amount of service points.

Much more efficient service since the card facilities were installed. Queues can be long, but generally move quite steadily. Expect a wait of 1 or so hours when busy.

Despite the usual sentiment around government services that you hear from day to day, Durbanville Municipalities service was relatively fast and smooth when I went to renew my car license. Even though when I first walked in, there was a long queue, in a matter of minutes I was fast approaching the front of the queue.

Although they have lots of parking and they are close to most residential areas you find tipicall slow and almost not willing to help kind of service that everybody complains about ever since the new South Africa took over. So Sad !! Gone is all the eager and happy service that we used to have.

Your website says your open untill 3pm. Its 12H45 , and no reply, Called again, no reply, called again, no reply... Its 13H45 , stiil no reply. Then I get letters from the Durbanville Municipalty announcing proudly of your services. What service if you cant even answer a calls.

This was my first visit to the offices to renew my licence disk. In and out in less than 10 minutes. All four windows were open so the short que moved quickly. Went there just after 12h. Normally I go to Goodwood traffic where there is vere little parking, long ques and only two windows in service.

Good service for municipal offices. I specifically have experience of the staff handling vehicle licence renewals and registration. During two recent visits queuing time was about 30 minutes each and the staff were all knowledgeable and able to resolve queries. Obviously they have to act within the limits of a system and clearly not all members of the public get this. I was impressed by the patience of staff when such individuals got aggressive and even insulting. Online information is also very good. The one negative is that unless you have someones direct number getting help by phone is almost impossible.

So after many years I have revisited The Offices and in 2019 been there couple of times. Been in que for no longer than 10min ever. Yet in 2021 I have been disappointed numerous timesYou can easily stand in que for 2 hours.Been there at 7:30 in the morning, number 24 in the que - took 1hour30min just to enter and wait in next que.Easily blame it on COVID yet the system and process stays the same
