Weve been to so many different doctors, this doctor is the only one we found who genuinely cares, hes so understanding, he asks all the right questions. I returned for a third colonoscopy, the first five years ago. As before, very thorough and reassuring. Thank you. No problems at all except that an email enquiry afterwards to Vincent Pallotti regarding hospital co-payment was not replied to. That might be worth following up.

Dr Deetlefs is a fantastic surgeon. He communicates very well before and after surgery. I had other suspected problems, out of his normal working areas, and he went that extra mile for me to do an x-ray for sore hips, and a sonar for ovarian cancer. My second procedure this month, he took photos of other areas and referred me to suitable specialists. He is a very nice man, makes you feel very comfortable. Although I live across the Rd from Blaauwberg Hospital, I saw Dr Deetlefs at Milnerton mediclininc as my GP said he was the best, as did all the nursing staff in Milnerton, and he most certainly lived up to that. He did not disappoint and sent me a voice mail as well as a written report the day after my procedure. I was very impressed. Top notch!

My son was referred to Dr Deetlefs and our appointment was originally the 25th of May. After contacting his office and e-mailing the referral letter to him, i was contacted 20 minutes later and the hospital was book within a day. It is such a relieve to finally understand my sons condition after being misdiagnosed by various Doctors. Professional, good bedside manner, proper explanation, my review do not do justice to what an awesome doctor he is. His staff is friendly and swift reply back. Instead of 5 stars - I will give him and his staff 20 out of 10.

I found Dr Deetlefs to be very professional and caring. He explained things in a way I could understand. On the day of procedure things went efficiently and smoothly. We received a call before the procedure and post operatively a thorough detailed report and personal call was done. Dr. Eduan Deetlefs is by far the most thorough medical professional I have ever had the pleasure to meet.Some years ago he diagnosed my son, after 20 years of misdiagnoses by many health professionals, with EE. After a gruelling patient list, at the end of his day at 22h35, Dr Deetlefs sat on Grants bed and patiently showed him all the images of his oesophagus and explained his problem to him. My son asked if he could have copies of the images and Dr Deetlefs there and then copied them to my sons memory stick. With the prescribed treatment plan my son has had no further issues to this day. I have consequently recommended Dr. Deetlefs at every opportunity and know of three referred friends who continue to do the same.Thus, when I recently had a chronic problem I did not hesitate to choose to see Dr. Deetlefs, despite him not being on the approved list of my medical aid. I wanted to go to the best. Dr Deetlefs first requested every possible non-invasive test to diagnose my condition prior to performing a gastroscopy and colonoscopy. The entire experience, from his reception staff to his hospital staff was super-friendly, fast, efficient and very reassuring. One is made to feel comfortable, important and special every step of the way. Nothing is too much trouble at any time. The cherry on top was when Dr. Deetlefs kindly reduced his fee as my medical aid was the only disappointment in this entire process.Dr. Deetlefs keeps his patient informed EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. One even gets a copy of the report sent to your referring doctor. And, uniquely, Dr. Deetlefs is directly available to his patient, via email, should one have any concerns or questions along the way. Before the procedure all the needed information and forms were sent, before and after the procedure DR did acomprehensive info and feedback consult and some days later I received a full report with photographs of the procedure, so truly transparent all around. I was recommended by my GP to see Dr Deetlefs and I was very pleased with the professional service from the minute I entered his reception and room. He is a very good listener and did a simple and clear explanation of my problem. I was seeing Dr Deetlefs a few years ago and Ive never forgotten how awesome he was. He truly cares for his patients and goes above and beyond call of duty.

My brother needed an urgent gastroscopy. He gave us the cheapest quote in Cape Town and we got the procedure done just three days after my first enquiry. My brother was examined by two previous doctors so Dr Deetlefs didnt charge a consult fee, as the previous doctor determined he urgently needed a gastroscopy. We are cash patients and this procedure was affordable, whereas we were quoted over R7k - R15k by other doctors, we didnt pay close to this with Dr Deetlefs. My brother was very happy with his whole demeanour just before the procedure and directly after. Such a gem, he saved us thousands of Rands. We were assisted by two very attentive, efficient, understanding and obliging Medical Receptionists - Sobria and Vanesha, and we couldnt be more appreciative. We will definitely use his services and that of Cure Day Hospital should a need arise in the future.
