Clayton was so kind and knowledgeable. We went with 4 young kids who were all so excited and he gave them so much time and attention. He taught us so much about bait, sea, fish and the surf. We caught a 140kg bronze whaler shark which we released and a 5kg Cob which we ate for supper. Thank you for such a memorable day. We are for sure going to make it a yearly event on our December holiday.

Preparing to go fishing in South Africa and having little knowledge about the ways and methods of fishing from the beach here, I used facebook and Clayton who runs Reel Angling contacted me. He came all the way from Muizenberg to meet me at Seapoint and gave me all kinds of useful hints about the gear I had invested in. He e.g. pointed out that the reel I had bought was faulty an thereby saved me for a 1000 rand!I then asked him to take me fishing to teach me more about tricks and traps and we agreed on a 6 hour trip round False Bay. I felt I was completely taken care of by a true professional and gentleman of the recreational fishing community. He for example had his eyes on the wether situation and advised me to postpone our trip for a day to escape the wind. He picked me up at Sea Point and delivered me after our tour. He did supply all the necessary tackle but also taught me how to use my own stuff. He gave me a training session on casting and clearly is a good teacher! We talked to various members of the fishing community that clearly held him in high esteem as a professional. He demonstrated his skills in using the drone in fishing, showed me how to fish with live bait, explained what bait to use for different species and showed me how to set it well on the hook(s). He took me to three different fishing sites, supplied snacks and water and comfortable chairs to sit in while waiting for the fish to bite. I got a most interesting tour around False Bay with him as an insightful guide. Just everything, including the weather, was super! The fact that we got no fish (nobody else did that day either around False Bay) was none of my concern! Reel Angling carefully gauged my needs and delivered with top scores on all points. I have no doubt that I can recommend the company and Clayton to anybody and will happily go fishing with him again as soon as I get a chance!

Fishing is a great covid compliant activity and a 2 or 3 day fishing getaway is totally doable in a safe way.

As a novice to Surf fishing in SA and coming from mainly fishing on jig lures in Baltic sea, Reel Angling Adventure provided a great overview of the fishing scene. They have quality equipment and the team was fantastic in catering to my needs. They were extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer all my questions. As I was a novice they spent the time taking me through the various aspects from reading the water, wind and swell conditions. Explained the various species of fish found in the areas visited. Took me through setting up the rig, reviewed the knots used, went through the various bait preparations including live bait, guided me on casting technique as well as showed me various spots which I could either access via car or by 4x4. I would definitely join them on another trip and would highly recommend them.

I recently booked a fishing trip with reel angling adventures. I was picked up at home by Clayton, the owner of reel angling adventures. We drove to macassar beach, where we fished for six hours. Clayton is very knowledgeable at what he does. He choose the best spot, after checking the water conditions and wind direction. He then showed me how to rig up the rods with different types of bait.We where targeting cob for the daym so we used, live bait, Choka and wonder worm. It wasnt long before we caught our first cob, a bit undersized, so we released it. We caught a total of 5 cob for the day, of which I took home one. All others where released. The experience was amazing, and I look forward to my next trip with reel angling adventures, which I already prebooked for October.I would definately recommend reel angling adventures to everyone, weather you are a novice of professional fisherman. Also a very good family adventure.I give reel angling adventures 5 star rating.

Though I understand catching something isnt always guaranteed, Clayton gives you th best chance - he is energetic and proactive. Me and my dad booked a days fishing with Clayton and I could not recommend it more! Clayton has a very professional setup and his equipment is top of the range. I hooked up to the biggest shark of my life within just 20 minutes of being at the beach. The sharks estimated weight was 140kg and I fought it for just over an hour! While I was still fighting the shark my dad caught a nice 5kg Cob. Later on in the day both me and my dad caught an eagle ray each. The use of a drone to drop baits out deep and exactly where you want them is an awesome experience to see too. I will be back again and I recommend reel angling adventures to anyone from amateur fisherman right up to experienced anglers.

Clayton knows how to put the client first: after a fast and easy communication to organize the trip, clayton picked me up at my accommodation and drove to the fishing spot.At the spot, he prepared the rods and explained everything around the tackle. Than he flew out the baits with a drone and we hooked up a 6kg cobe within the first 10 minutes (and more fish during the rest of the day). He also had snacks and drinks prepared and he really cared about me as his client.Would definitely recommend to go fishing with him. I will go on a second trip the coming days.
