The fish is fresh, excellently fried and their slap chips is to die for. The co-owner Genevieve is friendly and accommodating. Fresh fish varies and available regularly.

The food is affordable, and the quality is of the highest standards. The fish is always fresh, and the chips is made from real potatoes, and not the processed stuff.I would rate 5 stars, however the owner/ manager is very confrontational and seems aggressive. This makes the buying experience uncomfortable.

I ordered Batteted Hake Fish, and wow, such a large portion and so fresh, delicious.

Fish and chips shops have an attitude and should not be super sterile and up to date. To this end Welcome is true to its nature and people love it. The fish is fried on order. The chips just a prefect combination of slap and crispy. The calamari is melt-in-the-mouth delicious. They have a choice of salty toppings and of course vinegar. If you go during lunch time expect a queue which moves along sedately but the wait is worth it. Parking is tight and the area slightly ungentrified but the food good and hot. Today’s prawns were a bit too crispy but tasty nonetheless. I always go back for more

Probably one of the best Fisheries I have tried in a long time. Delivery was insanely fast (with Mr D). When the food arrived it was still hot and so so good. Finished my meal so quickly I forgot to take a picture.

Since I came across this fisheries its hard for me to buy any other place. Love it, its always fresh, u might hve to wait a bit, but its worth it. The owners want u to b happy with ur fish and chips etc when u buy at their fisheries.

Way better and cheaper than West Coast fisheries.

But drilling into ceramic tiles while the fresh fish display cabinet is open is not on.

After serving the only other customer in the shop and although I was next, I was ignored. I had to wait for shop attendant to have a casual conversation with the cook. There was plenty of fish and chips to serve, but I had to wait. Throughout that time I never said a word. Thinking I was actually a ghost I went to next door to Nandos to make an order, just to check.

A place reserved for the occasional guilty pleasure of local fish and slaap chips. The serving proportions are simply epic, easily sharable between two (of youre in a kind mood).I almost always get the snoek and chips combo, the batter on the fish is consistently hot and crisp whilst the chips never end (I did mention the gargantuan proportions right?).The ladies at the counter also serve with a smile each time, even up till the last minute before closing.
