I had great service from Fire&GasWe had an open fireplace and replaced it with a closed wood burner.We live in a thatch house so extra precautions were required and they were the only company that came up with a plausible safety process.They kept to the fitment date it was neatly undertaken.

Inflexible, overpriced, and not interested in after sales. I can only recommend to use other suppliers in the area. Literally any of them will be better.

From the day that I walked into Fire & Gas Lifestyles showroom I struggled to overcome their aloof and superior attitude. I looked beyond it as I was interested in a high quality fireplace from a reputable company and all the service & warranties that accompany that. I have installed numerous steel open fireplaces in my time, and with my last renovation I decided to splash out and spoil my family with a high quality slow combustion stove suitable for my modest home of 120m squared. On their recommendation, I bought the Franco Belge Etna 7 slow combustion fireplace and it it does work. However, within the first winter I noticed that the bottom fire grate had cracked. I contacted Fire & Gas Lifestyles and they said that if I produced photographs and the warranty card they would replace the part. One thing led to another, and I forgot about the crack for 6 months over the summer, but when I prepared the fireplace for that following winter again I saw & remember the crack. This time I also noticed that the back fire plate also had a crack. So I contacted Fire & Gas again, and this time they passed the buck completely and said the importer was not prepared to replace the cracked parts as originally agreed, even though both parts cracked within a year (one winter) of ownership. I was told that the fireplace had been over-fired. I especially bought a high quality fireplace, from a reputable company, at a higher price than an ordinary steel fireplace, only to get a product that cracks within the first winter, with no follow up service or responsibility taken. I cannot recommend this store at all, and I cannot recommend the Franco Belge brand either, as nowhere does it say the fireplace can be over fired, and I have a small home and have never built a large fire in the unit. I would have been better off buying a knock of steel fireplace.
