The shop is very full. There is major amount of material everywhere. I didnt know where to start. I felt so confused at first glance but their prices seems farely affordable if that the main aim. Staff are handson and everywhere even though the space is quite limited. Good work guys!

This place is amazing! If youve a crafter or a sewer you HAVE to visit. Tons and tons of offcuts from the fabric industry going super cheap. Choose from fabric, giant cotton reals in any color imaginable, trims and ribbons, belt buckles or a big bag of mixed buttons. Or just wander the aisles in amazement.

Lots to buy...quite a lot of fabric selling for R10 per meter. I got there late afternoon, approximately ten minutes before they closed and was very sad as I could not look for what I initially went to buy. Note to self...they open at 6am and close around 3pm daily...wont forget that one soon again🤔🥺

They have loads to look through.But you need to do exactly that... Search through everything. Nothing is maked, so everything is on top of each other.But you can find a good deals on off cut lappies.

Owner and staff extremely disrespectful, told me they were closed even though I arrived before COB, owner screamed at me for coming before closing and shouted at the rude staff member to put the lights off and not let me shop.Dont go to this filthy and disrespectful place.

A wide range of threads, for sewing, overlocking and coverseams at very reasonable prices. Lots of notions and material also. The lightning is not sufficient, so take a head light with, next time I am!

Not a lot of fabric to choose from on the 2nd visit.

Huuge selection of thread at really good prices (R10 for overlocker size), but the material variety was very disappointing - almost nothing with a print, all just plain, very bland material. Good variety of elastic and lace. But wow, very deurmekaar, most items are not priced and the shop is very messy. There is no light in 2 isles in the thread section and there are quite a few dead ends in the shop, areas with a lot of what seems to be rubble lying around. It needs a serious clean/organising.

What a fabulous shop if youre looking for buttons, elastic, ribbons and other trim for sewing or crafting! It is very densely packed - like a jungle of sparkly, velvety, lacy fun. I always leave with about 100 extra things I didnt go there to buy.They also have various fabrics (mostly synthetics) at very reasonable prices - often as little as R10 a metre but nothing is labelled so you need to ask for assistance.Theres also a huge collection of second hand books beyond the fabric section.Parking can be tricky.

Still R20 a metre of whatever end of rolls they have available. But be there before 3pm - they start packing up and putting the lights off at 14:40 and promptly usher you out. Better to go earlier so that you have time to browse.

Clothing factories in the area get rid of their overruns and roll-ends here, so this is a great place to get good quality fabric. Just a warning, though: if you see fabric you like, buy it immediately. If you come back a couple of days later, it is likely to be sold out.This is also a good place to get factory-made quality haberdashery. From sewing thread, to buttons; elastic, to fastenings and labels.

A great place to source any odd trim or finishing for garment construction. Dont expect order. In the chaos you can find gems to finish that special garment design. The staff is friendly and eager to help. Access is good and parking readily available. A must visit for Fashion design students.

Be prepared to scratch for what you need as it is a bit chaotic. Huge range of haberdashery at good prices. Take a headlamp as the lighting is poor. Buy a bit more than you need or tuck the rest away where you can find it again if you might need some more otherwise you will have to hunt. Friendly staff.

It was disorganised. Good variety of lace, etc but no one to assist so I had to eventually leave and go to Fabric City.

Have things you need for sewing and nice fabric

They failed to live up to their hype. Didnt find products as advertised. Not even one staff member approached me to assist. One staff member was more interested in taling to his friend about what songs she wants him to copy for her. There are very few prices on items and materials are in disarray not having all of one type in one area. As a newcommer to the city from what I was told and expected they failed dismally. Dont waste your time here there are better shops where staff are there to help just up the road. Give this one a miss.

The only wide variety “Go to haberdashery” shop in the City Bowl. n Regte “negosie-winkel”. Here you’ll find anything from trims, ribbon, lace, belt buckles, bra fittings, decor accessories, jewelry, crafty things, buttons, thread, iron on patches etc etc. A must see for DIY Afrikaburn attire. Generally good and friendly service.*However I’ve had issues with trying to get in by 14:30pm, because it was 15min before closing time, even though I ensured the lady I just needed to get a specific roll of fabric (yes the entire roll of R1500, back in 2012) Unfortunately due to this I had to go back the next morning. Only reason why I had to go back is because we needed a very specific colour for work and no other fabric supplier in CPT had that colour.Opening hours, weekdays 5:45am- 14:45pm

Upgraded their sales floor tidied up and now have excellent fabric choice available at half the price

This is one of those gems you never knew you needed in your life. Kwaai Lappies (Ravenscraig Road - there are two) has one of the most extensive collections of habidashery and material you can expect. The gents on the tables are eager to help you out and cut according to your needs while the ladies on the habidashery side know exactly where everything is. The shelves are tightly packed and one needs time to go through each row if youre just browsing. And if you are just looking, take a basket with you, you are GOING to come out with a handful of things you didnt know you needed. Their prices are ridiculously low and it is worth a visit if youre about to embark on a project. Its very close to Woodstock Station too if youre using public transport.
