We experienced a fire at our home and my iMac was damaged in the fire. Insurance at the time said it was a write off and nobody else thought it was fixable or was interested in trying to salvage it, the standard answer was sorry, buy a new one... so we kept it in storage for over 2 years! My brother suggested we try clean it up and take it in to Macfix who had recently repaired both his laptop and my Dads laptop perfectly, and see what theyd suggest. Macfix went out of their way to clean, service and repair what they could on my Mac replacing and sourcing parts, and I can now use it again!
