Dr Vermaak is a very attentive and knowledgeable doctor. He has an excellent bed side manner. I would recommend him to my friends and family without hesitation.

Dr Vermaak literaly saved my life after lifetime of struggling with allergies and repeated severe sinusitis which needed too many antibiotics (I became resistant)and few surgical drainages. Excellent surgeon and for the first time I have not needed treatment in almost 3 years of my 54 year lifetime. He is sincere and an open book with caring attitude towards his patients.Since then he changed my husbands quality of life as well after a successful procedure .I can recommend him without a doubt.

I was referred to Doctor Ben Vermaak by my Local GP, after suffering from debilitating sinus issues. After a scan, it was confirmed my sinuses were blocked, having exhausted all other options, surgery was proposed. Dr Vermaak was straight, to the point, with no sweet words, explained using the scans and other stock images, in exact detail what the problem was and how it was going to be fixed.He also took extra care to send me for sleep studies etc.Surgery was done and although uncomfortable the 1st two days, I feel so much better. The pain after the operation is actually less than the pain I had daily before the operation.There are some costs upfront, which you pay out of pocket (Can be claimed back after the operation), the medical aid covered part of the operation costs, so ensure you have gap cover to bridge the difference! Still, I would do it again in a heartbeat, worth every sent, if only from a quality of life perspective, with easier breathing and sleeping improved exponentially.I would recommend Dr Vermaak, without any hesitation, if you are looking for a straight talking, no holds barred doctor, without excuses!I Only wish there were 10 star available to rate him more appropriately!

My son had his second procedure with Dr Vermaak at Durbanville MediClinic Day Hospital. From the moment you meet Dr Vermaak you realise he is an expert in his field, so we knew we were in good hands. Dr Vermaak has the ability to relate to / connect with both the parents as well as the children he treats, which is a great attribute.I can def recommend Dr Vermaak. His expertise and soft manner combined with the super friendly Durbanville MediClinic Day hospital staff will set you up for the best possible experience.

He did reconstructive work on my nose and he is actually not allowed to do it and should have send me to a reconstructive/plastic surgeon.He totally made a mess of my nose and when I talked to him about it he got real aggressive.After the damage I went to see a plastic surgeon that saw what he did and tried to fix it, he could not believe his eyes.3 operations later I look kind off okay again and cost alot of money.What a horror show. Unbelievable!

I have had a chronic sore throat for 5 months and was referred to Dr Vermaak by my GP.He did very little to determine the cause of my chronic sore throat.I was then for a second opinion to another ENT, appointed by the ENT Institute of JHBs chairman. Coincidentally, the chairman of the JHBs Institute was my ENT when I stayed in JHB. The cause of my chronic sore throat was immediately determined and treatment could be started immediately.I wasted my time with Dr. Entertainment.
