Staff arrived after 08h00 to assess and assist members of the public.Some elderly members was in the line from 05h00 already.I arrived there at 06h30 and was only assisted no given a form and a return date at 09h45.

I arrived at Sassa Mitchells Plain at 5:30 for foster grant care, I was sitting outside in the cold for 5 hours and and hour inside the building, once inside this is what I noticed that service was very poor and it was so annoying to see 10 staff on duty at the front desk but only 3 or 4 will help the people the rest of the staff was lounging around. Personal phone calls are been taken while busy with clients, loud music being played on their phones while busy with application , so pathetic....when I left at 12:10 poor pensioners was still waiting outside to be helped😔

Here u have to stand in long queues in cold, hot and windy conditions from 7am or earlier untill 4pm and sometimes have to turn back and return early the next day.Take ur lunch with.You get a chair to sit on as the que moves.System very slow and u dont have all the relevant documents it means coming back.There one needs to come with lots of patience ,patience ,patience and u must be 200% broke bankrupt , be as poor as a churchmouse b4 u qualify for a social grant .Best be honest.No lies!.No corruption from povertystricken public.

Hi everyone my personal experience at the department of social services was terrible u have to wait from 4.30am up until 3.30pm and still get turned away for some poor reason and this like 4 times in a row. U have to wait outside in the rain all those hours being a pensioners. Its disgusting how our system is run

I sit outside in the cold since 4:45 am this morning,30/11/20! At 6:15 an employee came out,told us we wont be served today,having some problems inside! You people must come back tomorrow again at! Most times its like that,sitting outside for hours in the hot sun in a queue,just to be turned away!

Long queues. No visible effort to improve and make more efficient. Over worked staff. Badly managed with no apparent long term strategy.

Some members of staff are very helpful, my mother did not receive her October pension - hopefully the 3 days we spent there wont have to be repeated in November and they can get to the bottom of why the money was not paid into her account.

Always good services with a smile on the face nd they treat u like family

The Mitchells Plain Department of Social Development, as well as SASSA office, is on ALPHA street, near the place where Wespoort Drive crosses Alpha Street overhead.Landmarks near DSD Mitchells Plain are Campwell Hardware, Department of Home Affairs, Taxi Rank and Westgate Mall.

Poor service

They are very helpful have to be early there

When I got their the Que was long out side, waited for an hour got inside an waited again while the staff took there own time after a while they announced they were offline same thing

Got there 09h00 waited 3 hours before being seen 2
