Service: With every step we took, there was someone looking after us - making sure our car was parked, our bags collected, escorted to our room, facilities and amenities explained to us... and the list goes on. Every Taj employee was pleasant and helpful and the service was excellent.Room: We stayed in the luxury suite, and we had a wonderful view of the mountain and city, the bathroom was gorgeous and quite large, the room was clean and we were even provided with an umbrella, the staff had provided us with a complimentary happy birthday treat for my partners birthday - very cute and thoughtful.Breakfast: expansive breakfast options to cater for every dietary requirements. The food was delicious and the waiters were very attentive.Aftercare: I had forgotten something in the bathroom and only realized a day after I checked out, I contacted the Taj and enquired if it had been found and they were very responsive and arranged a day and time for collection. I was really impressed at the responsiveness and the care - even after my stay (and it was just a one night stay). Definitely will not be my last time here! Fabulous.

Tonight was my first visit to Bombay Brasserie but definitely not my last. We were lured in by a Facebook post promoting their Spouse on the House special. This consists of the tasting menu for two and a bottle of wine for R645. The food was outstanding. My highlight was the tandoori starter. The plating was exceptional. Perhaps the size of the portions played a part but we didnt care much for the dessert. Expect the highest levels of service. Our waitress was an absolute darling. Highly recommended

What a luxurious stay at Taj Cape Town as a belated honeymoon! The staff went above and beyond to ensure our utmost comfort and the attention to detail was unmatched. Jive Spa is a must! Very clean (especially considering the current pandemic), and left feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. Even hubby loved his facial! Topped it all off with dinner at Bombay Brasserie where we were surprised with a candlelit table covered in rose petals and treated to a few special touches by the chef, including a tasty amuse bouche and decadent chocolate brownies, to make our evening that much more magical. Definitely take some time to enjoy a drink in the extravagant Lobby Lounge and breakfast is not to be missed. Thank you Team Taj for the ultimate romantic staycation!

From the time that your reservation is confirmed the Taj experience begins. Before arrival youre greeted with a very Taj welcome message and the option to personalize your stay. Upon arrival youre greeted with friendly helpful faces willing to take your luggage and park your vehicle. The check-in process was seamless and painless. The staff go out of their way to assist and accommodate guests in ways that far exceed the hotels official offerings. Night manager, Giovani was a pleasure to deal with and made the experience at the Taj all the more worthwhile by opening the gym and pool areas long after closing time just so I could get a decent workout and swim in before checking out. The room was immaculate and offered stunning views of Cape Town. The room was also very well equipped with cables for connecting to a wired network, speakers in the bathroom and a large screen TV. The turn down service was prompt and easy to request. All in all a wonderful experience and I would definitely visit again.

Tourism is a tough game at the moment and it is clear that the Taj family is doing everything it can to hang in there. The specials available are amazing value and offer a great option for a staycation. The staff is visibly cut down to the core which sometimes shows up in the details but overall the hotel is still incredible with mountain and city views, a luxurious spa and great food. The Bombay Brasserie set menu is recommended and I encourage a fun stint in the cigar bar. And, as a wierd aside, the Taj is the best smelling hotel Ive ever visited with wafts of various essential oils throughout to awaken the senses.

After a warm initial welcome we got harrassed by the staff the first night. Not what we expected. After 2h and four phone calls from our side (!) they still did not bring the menu, so we had to walk downstairs to get it. 2 min after picking up the menu, we got back into the room and the phone was ringing - they assumed we had picked our dish in the elevator and wanted to take out order. We subsequently had to call them 3 times until they finally managed to put us through to the restaurant that took our order. We got our food after a 2.5h struggle with them. It was bland and extremely overpriced seeing the lack of taste. Butter chicken (R220) was a few pieces of chicken in a tomato sauce. The garlic naan (R50) tasted like nothing. The breyani (around R200) was rice with a few pieces of meat and a bit of yellow on it. Service absolutely horrible. Staff refuses to listen. Manager does not call back upon several requests. No toilet brush in the room. We ran out of shower gel immediately as there were only two tiny bottles in the room. Tea pot stained (eww). You order a normal coke with ice and lemon and they bring a coke zero with no ice or lemon. They asked what they could bring us to make up for the horrible service. We asked for two glasses of coke. They brought two appletizer. Yes, really.Facilities are outdated. TV is frustrating as remote is not working properly and only standard channels with terrible picture quality. Sauna (2nd floor) shuts down at 10PM. Steam room and Jacuzzi (1st floor) only accessible during spa opening times, thus not accessible after 7PM. Staff did not pick up phone when we called from 2nd floor in order to ask them to switch on sauna, so we had to go downstairs in our gowns.Manager Papy tried his best to make us happy with his friendly attitude, but the overall experience was disastrous. We wish we had stayed at home and we will DEFINITELY not come back.

From the moment you step through the front doors of the magnificent Taj Hotel, you immediately feel like youve entered another world. The staff are incredibly well-informed, extremely friendly and helpful. Their COVID-19 safety protocols are of high-standard, making you feel relaxed and safe. The One Bedroom Suite with Mountain View was absolutely breathtaking, cosy and room service is a must! We ended our evening off at Bombay Brasserie, from starters right through to desserts, the experience was exceptional to say the least. Our trip ended with a Vishrama Signature Experience at Jiva Spa, which I cant recommend enough, the massage therapists are extremely friendly and ensure that you feel relaxed and comfortable. Tajness ExperienceWe booked for the Urban Romance Getaway in Winter (July 2021). The room had breath taking views of the Table Mountain and also had a balcony. The morning sunrise was such a delight to watch as the sky turned pink. The mini bar was stocked and free for the stay but unfortunately we don’t drink alcohol. The room was well appointed with the five star luxuries having the similar qualities of the other 4 other Taj hotels that we have stayed in other countries.Since no undercover parking is available at the hotel, we used the valet service which made parking secure and convenient. The Jiva Spa was delightful with fantastic specials during the COVID pandemic. Speaking of the pandemic, the hotel is following strict protocols and is ShareCare verified with Forbes Travel Guide. The spa has a jacuzzi, sauna etc but we just enjoyed our two hour bliss of couples massages/facials/foot therapy. The staff are friendly (seems short staffed at the restaurants causing some delays) but they are extremely pleasant. Probably due to the pandemic….You can always count on the food. Although, the Bombay Brasserie delighted us with fine dining, the number of courses and food sizes was much larger. So, on the second evening, we just opted for a main. It’s scary in the pandemic but we needed a holiday away from Gauteng and the Taj made our stay relaxing.Best regards to Taj Cape Town!

Stayed for 4 nights in April to celebrate our 6 yr anniversary. Stayed in a gorgeous room with fantastic view of the mountain on the 12th floor. The reason for the 3 stars is the poor service we received this time. Not overly friendly but naturally so.The room service was super speedy. There were a few tiny hiccups but not enough to give it only 4 stars. Lousy decaffeinated coffee. We hosted a 70th birthday party on Friday, 11th December, From the doorman to the valet to the staff, everything was perfect. We were served by Matthew and what an experience, He was professional, courteous, polite, respectful, accommodating, he was nothing short of perfect, He knew the menu and if there was something we wanted, he arranged with the Chef to cater to our needs, the attention to detail, excellence! The food was great, just one thing, the starters are a bit pricey for the portions, The main dishes are not your average price , you are paying for hospitality and excellence, Possibly the range of main dishes could include more chicken and meat as the vegetarian dishes are quite vast. Overall the entire experience was superb.
