If I could give this place a 0 rating, I would. They did not allow me or my deceased partners family a dignified viewing of him. Apparently because of Covid they had misdiagnosed him as positive even though the state mortuary provided us with a proof that he was negative- as a result he was not prepared in a dignified manner for the viewing and they explained that they, Doves, cant touch him after the autopsy because they were told he is Covid positive, so they could not clean him properly leaving me traumatized. Its absolutely unacceptable and at the least they could have warned us that he would look like he did. In my opinion they have compromised my partners dignity. Ill be laying a formal complaint.

I just want to commend Doves Observatory for the professional and beautiful services rendered by Carmen who assisted us with the admin and Wilbur who was so meticulous in the manner in which he conducted the funeral processions from start to finish. From being half an hour early at the church up to the staff at the graveside who have set up everything so beautifully. You made everything so easy. All we had to do was be there and say our farewell to our loved one. Thank you once again to all the staff for the sincerity and compassion shown during our time of loss.

The dignified way that the staff operate is way beyond mine and my brothers expectations. The 2 guys that came to fetch to my late sister were smartly dressed, sympathetic and very careful with my sister when loading her on the stretcher.We then made an appointment to see Nuhaa, who continued this level of professionalism. From here Im at a loss for words, the staff at Doves are the best I have encountered in their field and cannot recommend them enough. To deal with death as profession cannot be easy but they do it with such passion and care that you feel valued to be their client.From the Southey family, a big Thank You.

Paid in full on request based on my request to view Fathers body prior to cremation and after resolving erroneous covid+ classification.. Despite being assured all issues resolved On day of cremation was refused viewing of body due to a stated covid+ status.. After unnecessary demanding for the undertaker to rectify situation matter was resolved without an apology.. Very unpleasant for family to witness and left bitter taste..very unpleasant affair.. Could not recommend this lot whatsoever.. To date have still not come back to with reason for chaos.

Thank you to Carmen and Chernay, they assisted us with the repatriation of our late mother to Germany. They made an extremely complicated process so much easier with their patience and understanding.The Kurt family would highly recommend Doves as being the best in funerals.

Best funeral parlour in Cape Town.Funerals are always a sad time and I have had the unfortunate experience of arranging 5 of them for my family and friends.This was the first time I used Doves as a close friend recommended them. I must say that the staff are excellent, empathetic and very organised. From the first time I called them there was a noted difference in how they operate their business. The administrator that helped us, Chernay was so friendly and charming, I was slightly taken a back and the undertaker Dion did such a sterling job in guiding the family through the process at the church and was on hand at all time if they had questions.Thank you to the team at Doves for making this difficult time a little bit easier to deal with.Highly recommend the services.
