Clay Café is awesome! I love coming here and it’s especially ideal for a fun and relaxing date! They have tons of different items that you can select from and paint. There are more than enough paint colours and variations to create whatever you want! The staff are super friendly and helpful! The food is also really well priced!

Being able to order food and choose a ceramic to paint was quite a fun experience. I was so impressed by how creative everyone was around me. I cannot wait to come back here again. 🌻🍃

This was a surprize outing for my 51st Birthday with adult children and hubby. So well organised, layed out and pleasant. 3 to 5 hour sessions to paint your chosen piece of pottery over lunch. Pleasant waiters to explain the proceedings to you and too glad to be of service. Lovely food and a spacious beautiful setting, an outside area, loads of play space for children with a stream running through the yard. I highly recommend this for a family or friends get together and outing. All out pottery, use of paint and equipment including meals and plenty milkshakes came to only R 1300 for 4 people

I had a great experience. I loved the atmosphere, the open outdoors and the check-in by someone else other than your waiter/waitress as the place can get quite full. Its pricey but enjoyable. I think it would be nice if there was a discount for bigger groups, that way it encourages more people and functions to taking place there. I am currently pregnant and cant wait for my little one to be old enough to run around there.

Had an absolutely had a great time.Great fun for everybody with a beautiful outdoors area 🌳Had so much fun picking out my item and deciding what look I was going for 🎨If its your first time going (Like it was mine) keep in mind that the painting process can be quite time consuming.Just something to keep at the back of your mind if youre going for a meal too.Food & drinks was amazing!! 🍔🍺And reasonably priced 👌🏼It was my first time at the cafe so it can be a bit confusing on how things are operated..My one issue I had was that the wait staff was quite non existent.. I was never asked if me and my partner needed anything and when we were spoken to we felt like where being rushed to get done or where just ignored completely..But I hope next time I go back itll be abit better 👍🏼And if its your first time going your item takes up to 3 weeks to get back. So you wont be going home with your item on the same day.But all in all was a great experience besides a few minor things. 👌🏼And I cant wait to head back up and fetch my items!!⭐⭐⭐⭐

What an amazing afternoon we had at this very special spot! We only left after about 4 and a half hours! Everything is so well organized, the food is really fresh and delicious and the kids played without end! We cant wait to visit again!!! Also, very excited to receive our finished items!!

Nice place especially for people with young kids who will enjoy the plenty play place. The menu is sufficient for both adults and kids. We had the burgers and the kids had the pizzas all of which were tasty. The place is very popular so a booking in advance will help secure a spot. There is plenty parking here. COVID-19 protocols are in place.

An outing with a difference. Going to restaurants, eating and leaving is so cliche. This is a whole new experience. Spent 5 hours there totally engrossed and entertained. Food is really great. You have gotta try it at least once. Lovely family venue. Beautiful layout, facilties and ambience. Pricing is very affordable.

Definite must. Awesome environment, staff is super friendly and their food is great. Waiting period on fired products is a bit lengthy, but when you get there its easy to understand why. Large range of clay products to choose from. Perfect for families with kids or suited for the adult that needs to get away from it all and unwind from this crazy rat race called life. One of the best forms of catharsis around... if this grabs you, CHECK IT OUT!!!

Great place with good food, it is fun for the whole family. And by fun for the whole family I mean it, I had my little sister of 8 enjoy it and my mom of 40 odd enjoy it too.I would recommend the salads.

Lovely place to relax with family while ainting your favorite clay items. Lovey food can be ordered at the in-house restaurant as well.Trampolines on the outside area is a winner for the children.They also have the choice of take home packages where one can have your own painting party at home and bring completed ones in for the oven process.

The experience is quite cute! Very fun especially for group outing. The food is not bad, but not ground breaking. The service is good sometimes and then not so great on other days. Still I go here often and would recommend purely for the experience.

A little bit pricey for the pre-fired items, but on the whole an amazing experience. Definitely plan what you want to do in advance, take a whole day so you dont feel rushed. Staff are super helpful, knowledgeable and give great advice on tips and techniques.

Always a winner with kids and adults. Food is amazing, desserts to die for. They have a massive variety of goodies to paint to suite all budgets and they have an amazing outdoor play area for the kids.A must do!!!

Quite far from the Northern suburbs. It is an excellent facility and well run. They cater for young to old. They have a menu, scrumptious! Their spiced Chai Latte is by far the best!When you get there, you have to sign in. You get an allocation number for your articles which you can choose from a wide variety. You also get to choose brushes, water for the table to dissolve your paint, you may take 3 colours of paint for your article.It gets baked in the kiln and after 3 weeks you will get an sms that its finished and you can fetch it.

Clay Cafe is a great concept and I would love to visit again, however the service we received today was quite bad.Our waiter did not come to check on our table once, aside from taking our initial order. We had to call him over so that we could order each time. The food is very good though.We had a booking for 12 and we were not aware/told that there was any time limit on our table. At 3pm, a lady from the front desk came over to ask if we were almost done as the next group was there to use the table. Since we didnt know we were supposed to be done by then, we were not all done with our painting, which I told her. She said she would see if they could find another table. She came back quickly and said that there were no other tables available and we needed to hurry up and leave so that the next group could be seated. This was so shocking that it ruined the entire experience for us. I understand that they also had a booking, but there were other tables marked as walk in tables. If you know that there are a certain amount of groups booked, do not accept extra walk ins while the tables are all occupied.

So much fun to be had at this place. The premises are beautiful and huge!! This place offers a varied menu to keep you fed during your visit. This is a perfect place to take kids and there were many birthday parties being celebrated today. The only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we were placed in a particularly loud section with several kids parties around us. If youre looking for a quiet afternoon, either go somewhere else or specify a table outside away from the bad acoustics! Either way, very much looking forward to seeing our finished products

Out first visit to Clay Cafe and definitely not put last. We all enjoyed being creative. The food was well prepared and delicious.Theres a slight assumption from the staff that their visitors have been their before and know what to do regarding the painting activities. Im not sure if they just assume or were caught off guard by the masses of people arriving there, I just know that a little more personal 1 on 1 guidance (where to go and what to do) would have been great. We had to kind of figure it out for ourselves. But now we know for our next visit.

Clay Cafe is always a nice experience. Food is good and everything is well organized. A super special high five for the awesome kids area! It seems though that over the years they are welcoming more and more people therefore it can give the impression of being an industry and service isnt as warm as it used to be and waiting for your creations are now terribly long compared to before. But all in all still a fun experience!

So much fun for family, kids, friends and corporate events. We had such a great and creative time. Even the not so creatives had a blast!

Such a neat and unique experience in Hout Bay! The location is fantastic and the property is beautiful. It was so busy when we visited that I found myself a bit confused by the process and no one really helped to explain it when we first arrived. There are signs everywhere along the walls, but they only provide basic guidance. To some degree, it seemed that we were just expected to know what to do. Otherwise, the food was good and the playground outside was perfect for our kids.

Love this place it’s so special. The atmosphere is just electric and fun. They have so much variety in clay and finishes and Colour. Also they ready and setup for your kids. The kids area is awesome and special.

A unique experience - if youre looking for something different to do in Cape Town then this is the place. The venue is kid friendly. I also love the pottery and bisqueware they sell. Make sure to pick up bargains from reject items with slight imperfections which can be found at the far end of the property.

This is an amazing venue to let your creative juices flow. You can choose a product and paint it. You can simply have a meal. It is a breathtaking venue with kids play area. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, it is a bit pricey. You can take your product home a week later. They have fans for hot weather and heaters for cold weathers. I highly recommend this place for a day out with family and friends.

I visited this place for the first time with my colleagues for our staff outing. The venue is absolutely brilliant with breathtaking views of nature. There is also activities to keep the younger kids busy. The range of items to choose to paint is endless and also affordable for every budget. This is a great place for kids, teens and adults alike. And especially awesome for end of year staff outings.

Really enjoyed going here with the family. Could do with a bit more shade in the garden area and small repairs to the netting around the trampoline, but was lots of fun for the kids.

Lovely experience and good service. Collection service needs to be more streamlined. My items were not finalised within the time frame given nor was I told from where to collect the items. Its in another building at the back and you must walk through the entire complex to reach it. The assistant needs to check the order number and collect the items off the shelves. Nothing is ready for you when its time to collect.

Clay Cafe always has great service and is such a fun afternoon or morning out. Great to get the creative juices flowing and spend some time with friends.Went with friends recently and ones artwork chipped during the firing process. Not only were we notified of the damage, she was refunded with a voucher which was very kind considering that the damage wasnt as bad as we thought.Always have a great time here.

The place is well prepared for social distancing. We had a great time painting our items. There werent enough waiters, so they did not come around often enough. I had to go and find one to ask for cutlery and plates. Other than that, we had a great day. The kids enjoyed the large play area with the different activities.

Really enjoyed the experience. We went early because apparently it does get very crowded. Would recommend making a booking if you want to go paint. The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful. Would recommend taking family or friends there or even for a birthday. There is a playing area for kids.

Such fun! theres a stunning view of the mountain and the food is tasty and not badly priced. I cant wait to go back. Tourists should know that you must wait at least three weeks to pick up your fired object so unless you have people you know, maybe dont go on a visit, because then you dont get your item to take home.

Spent a wonderful afternoon at the Clay Cafe with my girlfriend recently. I have a degree in fine art and happily put considerable effort into a bowl for her. On returning to collect our creations my bowl was no where to be found. A short search yielded nothing. No explantation was given (Im left to presume it was broken or discarded). I had to argue with the manager to be refunded for the cost of the bowl and then get in the car and tell my disappointed girlfriend what had happened. I wish this overall experience had gone differently as I loved our initial afternoon at the Clay Cafe and would have gone back.

Clay Cafe was such a fun experience. We went there for a friends birthday and I went in slightly apprehensive, considering how useless I am with arts and crafts. Ended up getting really into it and being quite proud of the result. The food was also incredible. Its a really fun place regardless of your skill level and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to do something a little out of the ordinary.
