Today 15 September 2020, I had the BEST shopping experience at Totalsports Tygervalley. I walked around in the store a bit because I was shopping for a very difficult customer ( my son) who has so many issues with clothes and the type of fabrics he can wear that doesnt irritate his skin, then theres the fact that he doesnt like to wear black T-shirts and his T-shirt needs to be a loose fit etc. My son has eczema and isnt confident with his current weight so that is why he wont wear certain fabrics or certain tight fitting T-shirts, its not because he is being difficult. I was in the store for about 2 minutes and was already feeling a struggle coming on, when I heard a friendly voice behind me saying, Excuse me, do you perhaps need some help with anything?. My first thought was to say no, but I reluctantly told him all the things I needed his help with. I could see by the look on his face that he had never heard a shopper with so many specifications before but he immediately rose to the challenge. His name was Luke. Luke walked me from one side of the store to the other, never forgetting what I was wanting. He was extremely helpful, patient and friendly and didnt leave me until I had found all the items I was looking for. He was very clued up with things and knew that store and its layout so well. He really made such a huge impression on me and because of him I got my shopping done so much quicker. Somebody needs to give Luke a raise or move him up in the Totalsports world because he has such a great character, he is invested in his work and in knowing whats going on in the store, he is especially good with knowing and understanding his customers and getting them what they want. This kind of service made for a very positive and impressionable shopping experience at Totalsports and I look forward to my next shopping trip. Thanks Luke, you make Totalsports look good!

Id like to share my disappointment with the store, specifically the footwear expert that you have in store. I approached the store for assistance and advice on shoes to suite my needs.On arriving at the store the lovely lady at the sanitizing post directed me to the footwear area and advised that someone would help me shortly.I was then approached by a gentlemen who is the footwear expert.To begin with his attitude threw me off completely. Very much as if he did not care that I was there and he was focused on his inside jokes with another staff member.He then with very little interest started showing me shoes. I then tried to explain to him how I felt about the shoe and if he has any other options, at which point he sort of shrugged me off as if to give me the indication that I may be wasting his time and he really is not interested in me being there.I thought its fine he must be busy I get it and then after trying on the second shoe, he vanished to go and attend to something else. I then found myself very disrupted and simply got up and left. He noticed my sudden blunt approach and tried to come back to help at which point i had already reached my limit of giving more chances.Very sad to have to be giving this review as I have received good service at this store before. But i am sad to say this has to have been one of my worst experiences at any store in my entire life. I actually questioned if it may have been my appearance or something that gave him the insinuation that i may be here to waste his time.I hope this matter gets dealt with fairly.Date was 4 September 2020.

I’ve had good service and bad service at this store. Unfortunately the amount of times I experienced bad service out ways the good. Went with my gf once to buy a smart watch for her moms birthday. Sales person didn’t know enough about the products. Had a “I don’t care if I make this sale kinda attitude “.Today I went into the store to buy myself a pair of running shoes. After standing by the shoes for a few minutes no one was around to help . Had to go and fetch a person which in turn went to get someone else who knows more about shoes. I asked this sales person if they have a neutral shoe with a minimal 8mm heel to toe drop. He immediately pointed to one shoe which was fine but I didn’t like it at all. Then he went to fetch some boxes which I thought he was bringing for me to try on. He just took them to the back and never returned. Waited for a few minutes and left the store. Sales person had the same attitude. “ don’t care if I make the sale or not”

Good selection. However, the staff ignored myself and various customers at the till today. I understand that customer service can be difficult to keep consistent, but its important to find ways to not insult customers by leaving them standing, waiting for 10 minutes without saying a word at the till.
