It’s seems the lockdown issues is being used in edgars as an excuse for not serving their customers. Lancôme stall had no lipstick pallets to view.. was told rudely that their management has asked them not to provide pallets to customers to view!! When I asked how could they then help us to choose a lipstick they said they couldn’t help us!!! So frankly they should shut down the Lancôme stall there. Same issue when choosing undergarments sizes... they couldn’t help due to lockdown regulation. Maybe they need to then fire all their staff except for till workers. We could practically see all the staff collected at the till just standing around and chatting to one another. Or maybe edgars needs to shut down for good as it is occupying space uselessly.

The shop is not crowded, the service is fast and friendly. When I return to exchange my good I requested a copy of my original slip and no problem. I like this branch a very wide variety of clothing and shoes. My no.1 Edgars.

The store was clean and extremely spacious. The customer service experience from the staff is not as one would expect from a store so beautifully design and maintained. The sale items on the marked stands are not marked and or does not contain a red sticker. This is not the first time. Each item that one takes to the counter can become an inconvenience. On a positive note - the store is a must shop for the items one might look for or even purchase as a gift.

You need to provide and ID number to be able to make an instalment payment even if your have an Edgars card. The cashier is unable to answer any questions. I hope the process can change soon.

For a shop struggling the staff is completely rude. They ignore you when you ask a simple question about fitting rooms. The ladies at the cash up till upstairs this evening. You sent back and forth upstairs and downstairs. The men at the cologne and perfume section however were amazing!

Waited almost 20min for someone to assist me in the shoe section and when help did finally arrive, the lady looked disinterested and unwilling to help. When I asked her help to find a shoe my size, she took an absolute age to look for it in their storeroom to the point where I even went looking for her. Edgars need to teach their employees urgency. Pathetic service!

Teach your people manners please. A sales consultant just rudely told me to walk the other way because the store is closing in 4 mins. Difficult to keep up with closing times with the change in lockdown levels and curfews etc.

With curfew in place an announcement of closure of the store would have been appreciated. Not having the staff run to us in a group shouting so loud about the store closing and still having the cheek to give us lip about it! If thats how you treat your customers, I will never go back or recommend your store to anyone.

Just a shout out on an awesome customer service experience from Herschel - the floor manager (I think - well he does such a good job he should be). His skill in working with his staff is also top drawer. I train and coach people and seeing this level of all round service is hard to come by in retail. It is so sad that my favorite store has turned into a ghost town. The staff are standing around chatting amongst themselves..The fragrance testers are packed away. Why? As well as makeup etc. (l know you cannot test on you face) but surely you can on your hand after sanitizing with the assistance of the consultant to check that protocols are in place.? With the result nobody ventures to the counters to ask for assistance as it is very unwelcoming.

I enjoy shopping at Edgars. This time it was to buy Clinique products. My Consultant had sent me a message via WhatsApp to tell me of a special offer which she kept aside for me. I saved R200 as there was a voucher for me to use as well. This is good customer care.

Busiest time of the year and one is expected to wait in a queue for 40 minutes whilst staff stand around chatting. Only two till points open and when I enquired I was told in a not too friendly manner that the other 8 were broken ... I can now understand why online shopping has taken off so well. Management at Edgars clearly have been given a directive to disappoint clients. They obviously dont need our business.

What a mission to buy clothes at one of the few open Edgars Stores in the Western Cape. I could not find anything that I wanted to buy, because I was not permitted to fit on anything. I had to go back three times and by that time my size was sold out. For such a massive store not to have gowns or shoes in different sizes is just totally over my head. I would thought that with the Waterfront and Cape Town Center Stores being closed one would have an overflow of stock or at least staff that are still glad they have a post. I understand now why your business is going under.

Service is not that great. Seemed like the cashiers were taking long to avoid taking the next customers. Had a price missing on one of the garments, had to go and search for it. After looking for the actual garment, the sales associate advises that the Manager could have assisted at the till point. There are so many Edgars stores closing down. They should really try to up the service levels at these stores so that the store can still attract customers and not chase them away.

By far the worst edgars I have been to. No manager on duty. Cashiers dont have the decency to greet customers when they approach the till and not to mention the big fat discussion they were all having whilst I was trying to pay. A big let down to a good brand.

With all this Edgars saga closing of stores and only having one store to go to I need to make mention the staff isnt the friendliest. They wouldnt let us in 5.45 as they close at 6 but pay your account a day later then Edgars wants to send you reminders and threats... yes we are in the middle of a pandemic doesnt mean the staff dnt need 2 be friendly... esp if its one of the few stores still remaining... the loss of clients isnt because of a lack of variety, its because of a lack of decent client service!!

I find it really astonishing that it is really so very difficult to get an invoice out of Edgars for the amount of R258.90 that I owe you.In April we heard that Edgars was bought out, so I paid my account up.In June, when checking on the website / trying to make a purchase, the website was down & the message stated that we would be notified when it was back again.Todate, I have had no communication from Edgars at all.Today I received an sms to say that I owe R258.90 & you want to hand me over to the lawyers.! This really came as a shock, because I paid my account up in March & have bought nothing further & I have had no communication from Edgars at all. I did receive calls from a person from Edgars & not knowing if it was spam & not wanting to give this person my ID Number, I asked them to send me a statement & as I never ever got one, so I assumed it was spam. After a few of those calls, I called in to Edgars accounting Dept & that was even harder & worse than trying to get hold of the post office. On Monday, 7 Dec, I asked for an invoice / statement to be sent to me advising what the R258.90 is all about & today I received an sms that you are handing me over to your lawyers, and I can view my statement on the link. This is really shocking & totally unacceptable. I should be sending you an account for my time that you have wasted !!Really if this is the Edgars service I actually do not want to have an account with you, as Edgars seems to have lost all respect for their customers & I dont want to be a part of this mix. There is enough technology to keep us informed & to make your clients feel valued.I called your accounts Dept this morning & asked for a supervisor to call me, and the sad part is that I am still waiting for that call & nobody cares, and I expect the email I sent today, will land up in file 13, as nobody cares about the client &/or your service & this is such a pity when it seems you have spent so much time on making your website look good, but I will no longer be your client.

The Edgars branch in Canal Walk is one of its biggest stores in Cape Town. The store is not that busy as most consumers choose clothing brands such as Foschini, the FIX, Cotton On and H&M over Edgars. The store does, however, sell various lifestyle and sports brands as well as a big variety of makeup and fragrance brands, which may be what keeps customers coming to their store. They always seem to have a sale on so you may get a good deal or find something specific here that you are looking for. You can also shop online on the Edgars site.

I was shopping in this store for over an hour. When I finally stand in line to pay, hands laden with the things Id like to purchase, they decide thats the perfect moment to inform me that their card machines have been offline since the day before. Was at their store recently and wanted 2 t-shirts printed but there was a sign on the counter with the guys contact details that said be back in 10mins...20mins went by and the person was still not back. We called the number and the guy said he was in the toilet. The guy then came eventually. He then told me that I had to pay for t-shirts first, which I then did... Once paid, we Bluetoothed the picture that we needed printed and he said it would take 20mins. So I walk around the store and 20mins later I come back but the guy is missing again... Seriously! So I wait and wait. A lady comes to the counter with her bag who works at the printing area and tells me that the guy went to buy paper because they ran out of paper. Eventually he comes back with the paper and they print the Tshirts. The first Tshirt looked terrible because they rushed it and didnt cut the picture out properly, also the picture was not centered. Then the second one they cut it out properly and it looked much better. Due to me to me needing to have these printed urgently for my daughters birthday the next day, I paid and left the store but to be honest... I am very disappointed and I dont think I would ever use their Tshirt printing facility again, especially for the price, poor positioning and quality and most of all because of the extremely long wait... It was actually pathetic to say the least. Even if they are maybe an outsourced company within Edgars, they are making Edgars Canal Walk look very bad. I would rather support small businesses outside of retailers, than to come back again. I hope that this is just a once off experience and not the customer service and quality they give their customers on a daily basis.Also, please advise if you still have the Toy Kingdom emporium still in your stores because I cant seem to find it? I found it very convenient to purchase toys while shopping for clothing for my kids and especially on this particular occasion because I needed to purchase clothing and a gift for my daughters birthday and didnt have the time to go to more stores.If you removed it, please consider returning it... Especially for us moms, who dont have alot of time on our hands and because of the convenience factor. Thanks.Please be so kind to like this review if you found it helpful, thanks.

They have wide variety of products but customer care is zero . Checked with two guys about shotgun clothing , immediately said no , checked where I can find flees pants . Both of them said they dont have such pants . They busy talking each other . No interested to help the customer . Decided not spend time in such shops 🙂 Markham guy was way more helpful to find the best one .went to buy one and ended up buying 3 pants 🤣🤣🤣

Very poor service and should I say the following;1. Supposedly incompetent staff.2. Disorganised from the CEO to the shop floor.I say this because of the following:1. Went to make a payment by swiping my ATM card. Went through the requested procedures and my account was credited of the amount I was paying. The account for which I was making payment, was not debited. Machine operator sought help from management upon request. Management made me repeat the same process I had done with the machine operator but results were the same.I asked for contact information and manager wrote on paper details that could not be verified. What happened to business cards? Therefore, my point is, if you have 2 different people at two different roles failing to command the machine as they are supposed to, whats the point of going back there?2. Come to my inbox.
