Astonished at the lack of communication, preparation and accountability from this place. Quality of service is beyond poor. Just not worth the affordability at the expense of such poor quality service.

Never would I ever recommend Barron’s to anyone ever. I waited exactly one month after my wedding to post this review cause the experience was real bad an wanted to just wait to try an forget but no paying almost R40k to be disappointed with the food the way I was an for a fine cheek I was refunded with a R1000 cause apparently guest told them the food was very nice which was bull as I got told different... My menu was too be savouries of what I chose but was given what they had an the extra savouries I personally took as extra... roast leg of lamb was given roast beef... Savoury rice was given plain white rice... Curry with Cubed chicken breast pieces was given curry with chicken pieces with skin on an a cocktail roti cut in four pieces... Vegetables that were hard as rocks or being under done an guess got different desserts not what I paid for then when I brought it to there attention the 1000 was refunded these people are seriously just in it for the money they spoiled my evening an I was literally in tears the owner can testify as to me telling her personally face tooo face never will I recommend them to anyone

Booking system is terrible. Was doubled booked for my function last year and had to find another venue.

Had my wedding on 16/02/20 at the chateaux and gosh was I pleasantly surprised. The decor was absolutely amazing, the food was delicious, family members are still complimenting how wonderful the food was. We still had an abundance of food we could take home and share with family and friends. Waiters were extremely accommodating and friendly. Definitely made my wedding an extra special occasion.Myself and my husband would like to give a special thanks to Rezaah for so kindly assisting us with the planning of the wedding and for making such a stressful situation more manageable. We would also like to to shukr Mr. Barron himself for the huge favour he has done for us.We truly appreciate the good service and kind nature and of all staff members.

Hi Barrons. .your service were very bad..food limited and just slammed down on our tables staff were so unfriendly with one of them being almost rude. .dont see anyone in charge of them. .making sure things run smoothly. .unbelievable. .you were paid. .we didnt get it for free..you shouldnt even get a star. .the only thing that saved the evening was your decor. .but then again even your chair covers were dirty😮so in all not a place I would recommend to anyone. .and of course you will ignore this message. .I dont feel you are people who actually cares. .But I thank you the event is over..

Great venue with lots of opportunities to take photos

The venue and decor is very nice but the food is not up to standard. The food is very limited per table not sure how one platter can serve 12 people. When you ask for a refill it looks like the refill food was leftovers from previous platters.

Very nice venue but very disappointing to know they state one thing on invoice and do the complete opposite!!! I look at my wedding photos and I feel extremely 😥. I ask for no flowers I got a hall full of flower. Really wanted my white wedding and you guys ruined it!!!!!

Its a good place

The main reason why most people book functions with barrons is due to their price, but in essence, you get what you pay for, well actually, you get a lot less. Compared to other catering companies they are relatively cheaper, but I would never have a function with them.I have a couple of concerns.I was unable to set a meeting with the owners during the week, so the owner’s daughter scheduled a meeting with me one Saturday morning. When I arrived for the meeting, she had completely forgotten about it and was still sleeping. The owner, was extremely rude and not welcoming, she acted extremely unprofessional about things and was not keen on helping or answering any of the queries I had.Sometimes, the staff may tend to be unprofessional, but as the boss, you need to show clients respect and not act like a child. Unfortunately, this is what the owner did. Extremely unprofessional. I will not go into detail about everything that was said, but I was unhappy, and instead of ensuring that her client was happy, the owner proceeded to argue and anger me even further.Fast forward to the actual function, the cutlery was not washed properly, the glasses was dirty, and there also wasn’t enough glasses on the table. I called over the manager and asked for clean glasses. After asking a few times, he sent someone to give us new glasses, not all of those were clean either, and some of them were different as well.The service was extremely bad, and the pies and samosas was served cold! This is ridiculous. The waiters chat around too much and are not professional, food was not refilled promptly.While the waiters were mediocre, I blame management. Because management is training them poorly, and that is why they act so and do things nonchalantly. The fact that the owner spoke with such disrespect and acted so unprofessionally indicated that this attitude gets filtered down the hierarchy. It seems that when a client complains about a waiter to management, that management tells the waiter, they complained, now serve them worse, instead of telling them to improve their service.Most companies have a website and a section where clients can give feedback and comment. It’s no surprise they do not have this on their website, as many clients would not have good things to say.I highly recommend that people find alternative venues and caterers. This place is extremely unprofessional. Do not be tempted to book them because of their price, you will certainly regret it.

Attended a masked ball for Shzens quarterly function 2 weeks ago. When desserts was served, the cakes were full of small cockroaches. No one wanted to eat dessert after that. When management was called they refused to come out and did not bother to apologise. Please check out their kitchen when having functions there. The venue is beautiful tho.
