Great service from Gareth with helping fix my phone issue

I bought a Cubot phone a Cubot phone in August last year (2019). In April 2020, the phone went dead. We were in the middle of lockdown, and I emailed several people about sending me a battery. I couldnt find anyone who had the battery. I got a new phone on the 1st May.Since then, intermittently, I have tried to find a battery. Unfortunatley, it is only now that I have actually been able to focus full time on finding a battery. Bear in mind that this is barely 16 months since purchase, and the phone failed 8 months into purchase.It appears that Cellulity buys phones from a supplier that doesnt keep batteries for phones older than a year, and there is no way of fixing up the phone either. In effect, Cellucity is stocking and selling phones that are pretty much useless after the warranty has expired. It cannot be repaired for love of money. Not in South Africa at any rate.I dont believe that to be ethical.Allan, either the owner or the retailer manager - not sure - is doing what he can to help me - in case it isnt the battery and it can be fixed. That said, I still have a phone that has no way of being repaired, and that is a waste of R1600. Had I know that, I would not have bought the phone.I will be sending the phone to him for his technicians to try and fix it if it isnt the battery. That would enable me to remove my photos and other information, but it still means that I essentially paid R1600 for a phone that has one years use. Except that it only worked for 8 months.Im hoping that my data can be retrieved, and, possibly, when I return to Europe, I can find a battery there. I find it inconceivable that a manufacturer would not supply spare parts for a phone beyond its guarantee/warranty period.ADDENDUMIve upped this from a 2 star to a 5 star. My phone was returned to the agent (arranged by the owner of Cellucity) who repaired it. It turned out to be the charger. It was returned to me in excellent working condition plus a free 16 meg card for storage. I am incredibly inpressed.
