Very bad admin!! Ive been contacting them regarding my deposit over three weeks now and the only thing they can tell me is I need to wait, for how long ? The 10 days have long passed but still havent got my money back although they already taken what I owe them . If you want a car hire dont use these people, they are very unprofessional!

Everybody friendly and went well...only problem are the berries from the trees where the cars are parked, my allocated car was covered in them, but your desk front person quickly ran the car up for a quick was upstairs...so all good...Ted

Dont go there. Worst car rental ever. I had booked and paid from european internet portal but as their europcar entities are not integrated, they could not find the reservation. They then open a new reservation and withdraw 600euros from my account for this double booking and paiement. No answer to email phone call. 6 months after I am still waiting for my money !! Thats call stealing simply...

We booked a car online the day before pick up. The booking online was smooth and the car aswell. We had full insurance just in case. You then pay a deposit, which from they later on charges the rental fee from , so its very easy and smooth, and it was the same price as you get when you book online. After 3-4 days after we returned the car the deposit was converted to the price for the rental. Good service aswell.

I was very happy with the friendly and efficient service. On the 2nd occasion, our flight was delayed and we arrived at Europcar at 11pm. The gentleman had kept the office waiting for my colleague and to arrive. Maybe this is standard practice, but it impressed me.

Worst car rental experience: we had a flat tyre, but no information at all about how much extra it would cost, no email, no call - they just debited our bank account. And 2 months later, for a reason we still ignore despite our numerous requests, they debited some money again! Customer Service is a pain: weve sent probably 12 emails including probes, 4 people interacted, still no clear answer to the amount debited.I used to be a proud customer of Europcar, im not anymore and I dont recommend them at all.

Worst service ever! If you arrive without reservation they will try to get has much they can from you.I arrived without reservation, but I have checked the prices before online. Cobus was the receptionist, I explain that I was looking to rent a small car for 9 days. He kindly told me to wait and he was checking the best offer for me . He came up with a total of almost 7000 Rand, I told him that have seen much cheaper prices online and if he could not offer me those prices I could book online. From this point he has change is behaviour... he told me that the price was for a medium car as they dont have availability from a small car. I told him that I would like to show him the prices that I have seen online. I was trying to book online and in the meadle of reservation process the something asking for you ID number, I have tried my passport number, my ID number but nothing worked. Cobus told that I should put a South African ID number and as Im not south african he said i could not book online. FALSE! In the and I found out by my self that I had to put my driving licence number.I came back to him with a reservation confirmation number for a small car. He told that he can not honor my booking because he has told me before they dont have small cars available. He said I have to cancel my reservation and the only option is to take the offer he gave me before. I said this is his last word I want to make a writing complaint.He went to speak with his supervisor and suddenly there was a small car available for me!I have found out that Cobus has cancelled my reservation and made a new one at the desk so he can receive the commission on my booking. I worked in a rent a car before so I know how it works.The history did not and here. We delivered the car at 5am in Durban , so at this time there was no one to check the car, we have delivered the car in good conditions and full tank. I have just received my invoice where they are charging the fuel!! Im still waiting for a reply on this issue.EUROPCAR NEVER AGAIN!

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received this morning at this branch.I was told by a very dismissive consultant that they were going to change me R800 to valet the car because there was some dog hair on one of the seats. Not a stain or spill that needed deep cleaning, it simply needed a vacuum which they said costs R800. If I had known this I would have vacuumed it at home before returning the car to save myself the R800.I dont know how Europcar gets away with charging R800 for a vacuum. I will not use this service again.

The company is totally incompetent and would overcharge even against a written confirmation. They never respond to telephone calls and emails. They drag their feet for confirmed refunds. Thousands of people complained against Europcar. IF YOU NEED A CAR RENTAL, RENT FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY SUCH HERTZ, AVIS, ENTERPRISE, BUDGET, THRIFTY, ETC. STAY AWAY FROM EUROPCAR. Dropped the car here from another location and was charged for a barely perceptible scratch on the hubcap. Charged around $100 finally. Total ripoff. I felt victimized. Something like this has never happened in renting cars around the world including many times from Europcar. Strange and disappointing.

When you need them then theyre always close enough and the cars are a challenge to use. Little difficulties to prove a full tank because this can be manipulated.

OK but leave yourself Plenty of Time at collection as it is So Slow and Especially Return - They do a Real CSI Examination in Return including Every Tyre and Every Inch of Body. All part of finding Things to Claim if you Fail to take their Hard Sell on Insurance at the Collection - Very Frustrating

Slow service, recieved a faulty car and had to go change it from another branch, mistake on the contract picked up by the 2nd branch, never gave any effort to give me the car make i wanted in both branches, was told that the deposit is going to be paid back to my account within 3 working days and now after 8 working days still not paid back to me, trying to call them is a waste of time, i spent one hour on the phone yesterday from one answer machine and call centre operator to the other and couldnt speak to any customer service consultant.

Not the most helpful staff at all. And do not believe their 48 hour refund of your deposit statement, which is reflected online. They give themselves 48 hours to process the paperwork and then tell you its up to the bank when it gets released. Im still waiting for my refund over a week later.
