Lovely artisan pastas and sauces. Interesting drinks. Always clean.

Absolutely love this place - such a great selection of mainstream and niche products, the best pies, the best milk tarts, super reasonably priced and amazing friendly service - a community shopping experience where you actually get to know the employees instead of them feeling like cogs in a machine like some other big supermarkets.

I love this spar, BUT I am editing my rating after living in Vredehoek and shopping here for a year. For some reason, even when I say no for a plastic bag, I get one.ALSO, why is it not the paper one supplied first ? I should have to ask for a plastic bag.

So impressed with their range of healthy vegetarian ready meals. Delicious! And they have Milka!

I just moved to this beautiful suburb and was really surprised how well stocked and nice this spar is. Glad to have such a gem around the corner. The prices are fair and not really higher than at the two other famous super markets.

I have been in the area for almost 31 years and love going to shop there. Know most of the staff by name and they are all very friendly. Have wonderful owner and management.

Small, well managed supermarket who caters for a diverse community. General groceries, hot lunch/dinner from the deli, coffee, freshly baked croissants, fruit and meats are just some of the available choices. Staff are always friendly. You will find all the basics and some interesting imports. Open early till late with an ATM at the front door. Parking can be a challenge most days because locals have no reason to go anywhere else. Liquor store next door.

A really excellent convenience store - open fairly early until fairly late. Good bakery - croissants, rye bread, rolls, ciabatta, soft pretzels. Great fresh salmon, tuna and other line fish. Fresh sushi platters daily. Good meat section. Friendly, helpful staff. Bottle store with extensive wine, craft beer and quality spirits selection right next door. The only issue you may have is that parking can be difficult to find at peak times.

This is an absolute gem of a store. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, there is an excellent mix of product and produce and they stock unusual and hard to find imported items. I looked everywhere for panko crumbs and of course they had! I dont even live in the hood anymore but will often go shop there.

Vegetables arent as fresh as Woolworths, range is average, tellers clearly hate their job and their clients and dont try hide their disgust for their clientele.Owner is detached and disinterested and management looks bored and irritated.Overall a shop which has grown comfortable on its laurels and the patronage of the community. The correct definition of a convenience store. This is conveniently located close to the residential areas so you can quickly get those household items you forgot on your grocery list. Free parking too.

I’ve started to enjoy and appreciate this convenient store. In a few cases I am still taken aback by the prices of certain products, but generally I cannot complain. Queuing for the tills is no nightmare, since there are enough competent cashiers to assist you.

The Derry street spar really knows how to cater for their local customers and faster checkout than the larger retail chains. Parking is tight as evidence that the service and selection is right.

One of our favourite grocery stores in Cape Town. This particular branch has extremely well priced fresh fish and a great vegetable selection. They are also always happy to keep items aside if necessary.

Very cool little Spar. Freshly baked breads and epic chocolate croissants, early in the morning. Take note - This is a KwikSpar, so the focus here is on convenience - Which they definitely deliver on! Prices on most of their stock however (except bakery), are on average 5% to 10% higher than what you would find at a normal or large size Spar.

Great SPAR. A bit small, but quality food. And really great salmon and tuna at good prices.

Total hipster supermarket. Small but awesome selection of groceries. Friendly staff. Fruit and veg quality needs some upliftment. Breads are great! Coffee selection is not bad. The fish is good. The sushi platters are great! The wine selection is supplemented really well by Tops next door.Nice baking ingredients section with gluten free cake bake boxes available. Hv tested them. They are yummy.

A hidden treasure high up in Vredehoek, always well stocked, clean and convenient. Pitty the liquor shop, TOPS, as well as the in shop liquor have restricted trading hours - normally a good selection of wines.

Best neighbourhood Spar, Ive come across. My only criticism is that you cant get real boerewors here, as for some reason they wont stock boerewors with pork, but they sell pork and bacon..But overall, super friendly, great opening hours and a great bakery!
