Lots of second hand builders materials - toilet cisterns, basins, tiles, window frames, etc to be bought often at good prices.Also the occasional collectors items.

Great shopping experience

If it was possible to give minus stars, I would. I have stopped here a couple of times, looking for a specific second hand building supply like a gutter or a window. The last time I said never again. I made the mistake again today. I asked the owner if he had any windows measuring 1200 x 400. He didnt even answer me, he just pointed to the stash outside. After rummaging through the piles of old stuff, I found one that might work. I went looking for the owner and found him in the back. I made him an offer, to which his reply was that I dont make the price, he does. So I asked him politely with a smile how much he wanted for it, where after he tripled what I offered. I dont mind what he asks for his stuff, but he was very rude. It smelled really bad inside as well, I suspect his dog urinated somewhere. Next time I wont make the same mistake again, Ill keep on driving.

Builder Yard has alot of 2nd hand used and somewhat abused household goodies. The owner greeted myself and my family at the door and escorted us inside... After solely scouting through the isles of potential creations, I finally found what I was looking for. Asked the owner what it cost, he gave me a good price for 2 items whereas at a previous place had charged me the same price for 1 item. Will definitely be going there again... My new favourite bargain store.

I have visited this place twice and got no joy on both occasions. The first time the shop attendant did not know the price of anything. Took my details with pictures of the items and promised to let me know what the prices are. It never happened. Today the owner was extremely rude when I commented that R800 for two railway sleepers is expensive. He said that people who live in houses that cost millions are always complaining behind their high electric fences. Then went on about the fact that he has to sleep in his shop in order to prevent people from stealing from him. I have no idea what his rant has to do with the price of the sleepers. I thought he was extremely rude and judge mental. I will never support his business.

I had good rapport with the owner, Yusuf Adams, and he did a very good restoration for me at very reasonable cost. There sure many treasures in his store waiting to be discovered and given some loving care. Definitely worth a visit for the DIY guys and dolls.

A great place to get salvage and second hand building materials, some junk but plenty of useful stuff as well. There is occasionally some good renovated furniture.
