I met Nicky and Suzette back in 2019 when I started planning my 2020 wedding, they were really kind and helped me find the perfect dress to suit my body. After our 2020 wedding was cancelled due to covid, she let me pick a brand a new dress for my post covid body, they made finding a wedding a dress fun and easy and I felt like an absolute princess!

My partner had an identical experience to the person who posted the review attached. Can’t believe that a business owner would treat any client with the level of disrespect and unprofessionalism that my fiancé received.We’ve made an appointment with Weddings by Design weeks ago, traveled all the way from Port Elizabeth, had to take leave and make arrangements for accommodation.We made it VERY clear that my fiancé is small and that there might be a need to make alterations to the dress prior to our appointment...which they agreed to and assured us that it wouldn’t be a problem.To our astonishment, My fiancé was bombarded with disrespectful comments and remarks on the 2nd visit after concerns was raised regarding the dress on the 1st visit.She constantly got reminded about the cost and that she is being done a huge favour. However by no means does that give anyone the right to be disrespectful towards anyone else. This was supposed to be a special and fond memory that she should be able to think back to, instead she walked out crying and disappointed.She did not ask for any major changes, surprisingly after the 2nd visit, she sang a different tune and informed my fiancé that the alterations CAN be made to her unideal physique at a additional charge.As a first experience, after much anticipation and excitement...this honestly felt like a spat in the face! I only wish I was in the meeting with my fiancé to defend her.I will continue to strongly advise against using “Weddings by Design” to everyone far and wide!I will share this on my fb page, Google, Twitter...whatever!I hope that no one else has to go through this....Think twice, ask the questions and make notes for personal reference before using anyone like this.

Very disappointed with the standard of service offered and the false promises that are made regarding the dress when the deposit needs to be paid. As it is a very important part for a bride to choose the perfect dress for the big day. There are lots of considerations that need to be made to pick the perfect dress. As known that when you rent a dress it will not necessarily fit the body of the bride perfectly. We were reconsidering to not make use of renting a dress, but the owner reassured us she would make alterations to the dress as needed for a perfect fit. Just 4 weeks before the wedding when fittings came, no promises were held and rude service was given. We lost our deposit after seeing the promises were not kept and just could not take the risk on an average dress for the dream wedding. We were forced to go look for designers and make a quick decision and pay much more for a dress that we budgeted for. I just wish that correct communication will be given to the customers when deciding on the dress and that the owner does not deny any statements that has been made. Please keep everything in writing so that you can go back to it for proof, because Suzette won’t recall it being said.
