Located at the prestigious Victoria and Albert Mall. Probably one of my favourite and biggest Exclusive Books in the country. Really spacious and carry a great amount of books serving different genres. The Book Store has a Seattle coffee store and space to read at and also have a quick bite.

A beautiful set up. Lovely coffee. Its just too bad you cant read a book or speak to your partner because your Seattle staff SCREAM and speak to each other with no respect for customers or people looking for the peace you find in books. Please speak to your staff it is unacceptable to listen to your staff scream and talk while next to each or on the other side of the store. This went on for the entire time we were there and we ended up taking our coffee and leaving because I couldnt even hear my partner thats how loud they were.

The assortment of books is great, and you will definitely be able to find books that you like just by wandering around. So did I with my friend and we bought a total of 4 books earlier on the day.In the meantime, due to the COVID19 situation and the changing regulations, we had a unrequested change in our itinerary for which we had to do a PCR-test this morning (only available slots) in order to make our flight tomorrow morning. We were informed of this yesterday at 5pm after which we quickly went downtown to get a total of 2 pages printed (forms to be filled in prior the PCR test). We tried all printing shops but due to the time (by then past 5.30pm), they were closed. So I thought of the bookstore as they were still open and I was hoping they had a printer.I walked in towards the counter and spoke to the person working there. I explained the situation, and that I was willing to pay 100 Rand for those 2 pages as it would enormously help us out of the situation and allows us to do the test and travel. He was receptive for the situation at hand and wanted to help but had to go to his supervisor who was behind him. She was actually printing something at that very moment right behind the person I spoke too. When he explained the story to her and asked it if would be OK if 2 pages could be printed, she reacted with I heard the story and no, we cannot print. When I kindly asked again, she said we cannot print and I cannot charge you for it so no. I offered that I would pay even more and that it was a voluntary pay for which she does not need charge me her final reaction was No, I cannot help you. The person who wanted to help to which I spoke to initially kept on apologizing at which I said thank you for your help and left the store. As a result, the bookstore in terms of its primary goal of offering a good range of books is great (4-5 stars), however, the service and customer oriented attitude of management/owner can be improved, at least in the friendliness in replying. Especially as we bought already 4 books there the same day. For me, customer satisfaction and experience is what always counts and therefore I would rather go to a smaller store next time in Cape Town where they are more customer oriented.

My favourite book store. I had called them to reserve a book for me, when it came into stock. It had been a while, so as I was in the area, I went in to see if the book was in yet. It wasnt, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had it reserved on the system for me and would call as soon as it came in.

Review №36

Really disappointed with the E-cafe at this store. I realise that it probably isnt a part of the same shop but I am afraid the cafe tarnishes the bookshops good name. I waited for 30 minutes at my chosen table for a waiter to take my order - nobody ever came. There were at least two waiters standing and chatting, one looked me in the eyes and still did not come. I had to place my order at the counter with a man that showed such disinterest that I felt I might as well have spoken to a brick wall. The food and drinks are also way over-priced. Never again! Exclusive Books, please kick them out! Even Seattle is better than this.

The V &A Waterfront Exclusive Books is a very well stocked bookshop with an adjacent coffee shop. There is inside and outside seating with a beautiful view over the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront whilst drinking a coffee and eating a slice of cake, or a salad. The menu is satisfactorily varied. The quality of the food and beverages is always good, and I have never been disappointed. It is a convenient space to meet or for tourists to relax after purchasing various South Africa related books. There is sufficient room and plugs for people with laptops so doing some business there is an ideal option.Mostly, it has a good array of books and especially cater for tourists who need a keepsakes book. Its convenient location in the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront adds to the experience of this bookshop.

Review №53

Exclusive Books has always had the books I want or been very diligent in ordering them for me. The staff is extremely friendly and always has good knowledge on books which is an extremely delightful asset seeing as most stores in Cape Town dont train their staff in knowing their product at all!I often spend time in the store sitting in their quiet reading area just browsing through books as it is very calming and they have done a great job of making it possible for the customer to enjoy the store even without paying straight up. This definitely helps in my decision on what book to buy and always leaves me with an urge to return.Sadly I feel that the prices are a little high which sets it just shy of a 5 star review, but that wont keep me from coming back time and time again.

During my visit to the Waterfront, I was pleased to learn that Exclusive Books was open until 9.30pm and could be visited after dinner with my family. On arriving at 9pm, I was informed that the shop was closing. My mother pointed out to the attendant (or possibly manager?) that they should adjust the times online if they are going to be closing earlier, and the suggestion was met with an insistance that WE must change the times on Google ourselves. As someone who manages a Google Business acccount myself, I informed him this was not the case and he should ask the businesss marketing team to assist. His response was to say Ill call them right now, before slamming the door in our faces. Extremely rude and utterly unnecessary. Ill be spending the over R1k that I was going to spend at EB elsewhere.

Well stocked, beautiful store as always. Exclsuive Books should really make their staff feel so valued for the fantastic work they do, theyre paid poorly and provide the most in depth, detailed knowledge. Service unparralled in any of the Exclusive Books stores, their CEOs should work better on rewarding the hard work, care and attention to detail.
