Lovely staff. Called ahead looking for a book, they checked and let me know they had it. We may not have been greeted on entry but they were very attentive when we asked for help.Also, not treated like thieves and followed throughout the store - thanks for that. They will walk you to the genre you are interested in (not just point in a general direction and continue chatting to one another) and even have recommendations. Even remembered me from the last time I was there and the lovely long chat we had.Definitely turned around the last experience of the other staff member not helping me as she thought I was the nanny of a woman with seventyleven children I did not arrive with. Much much better experience.They have a lovely selection of local authors so its nice to see them show cased and that my suggestions did not fall on deaf ears.Would definitely recommend this store if youre looking to buy a book or two while in Canal Walk. They now close at 8.

The staff are helpful and pleasant and the shop is nice and quiet. Its a good break if you wanna get away from all the droning of the rest of the mall. I was held up in there with a book yesterday, and before I knew it 3 hours had passed. They have yummy snacks outside the store too.

My kids love chilling on the bean bag on the store while they make me read stories to them. Nice little bit of calm in the middle of the storm that is Canal Walk.

The staff are very helpful and extremely pleasant to deal with and they always a nice large variety of books available. As an added bonus, it is nicely situated within Canal Walk, where you can walk straight out from the shop to sit down and have a coffee while reading your new book.

There is nothing like a good book in spite of the growth in ebooks. This shop still manages a wide variety of books. I enjoy books in the spiritual or esoteric section and there is often an interesting variety of boks to preview and buy. There are some seating for the book lover with more time. Staff are helpful and efficient.

Lovely shop but the staff are constantly in and out of the office, which has a loudly slamming door. Theyve excused it before as the time staff finish and start shifts but no matter what time of day Im there that door is slamming. The 20 minutes I was there today it happened at least 6 times. Very disruptive, especially when youre browsing the fantasy section, which is right by the door.

Large store in Canal Walk dedicated 2 small shelves to Afrikaans authors. Top Afrikaans reads not on shelves. Stote is neat and pleasant.

Its small, so they wont have books that are less popular. Thats the only thing I have against it, otherwise its good, next to a coffee spot.

Lots of books obviously, but the staff were less than interested and didnt know their merchandise. Layout is disorganized and confusing.

Always love visiting an exclusive books... But I guess Im just spoilt after having enjoyed the Cresta and Sandton branches in Joburg so I expected a bit more.
