Made an appointment to have my front brakes ( pads and discs) fixed. Its the first time that I have had such a regular update and communication was top.Turns out the back also needed fixing. Took my Audi Q5 into Shaun@The Brake Specialist for brake pad replacement. Within an hour he gave me a full assessment of the work that needed to be done and even stripped and looked into my control arms (at no extra cost). He continually updated me during the entire process with video and voice notes. There was a small miscommunication but he gave me the benefit of the doubt and the problem was swiftly dealt with.Shaun is all about making sure the customer is happy and I am! The pricing was just a fraction more than other quotes but with all the extras including calliper clean and spray, control arm assessment, tyre polish and car wash it was worth it. Shaun also followed up after the work was done to make sure I was happy and I am confident that the post work service would follow suit. Still no issues yet on day 2.Overall am happy with the service at Brake Specialist and recommend Shaun.

Extremely happy with the service received.Had my golf mk1 brakes done at Shauns place.Shaun treated my car as if it were a golf 7 GTI.My engine bay was cleaned, rear drums sprayed in a heat resistant black paint, front calipers coated in red. Stripped apart and serviced my Land Rover Discovery 4 brakes after reoccurring brake shudder which started after a visit to the dealer and wasnt diagnosed accurately by other mechanics. Hi , I have seen lots of links and updates regarding The brake specialist but never tried them myself till last week .I called the owner Shaun who advised I bring the vehicle in for a quick check and then the decision could be made from there.Once I pulled up at Shauns place he immediately got to work, stripping wheels in order to inspect the car thoroughly . They had a good vibe going , each member of the team knew what the other one was looking for . Shaun gave me the quote and the car was booked in for the next day for brakes and skimming . I arrived promptly the following day and immediately was greeted by smiling faces as they went about their work. I was kept updated on every step of the way , pics and videos was sent to me during the day . I was able to see what the drums looked like before and after the skimming took place. Car was washed , engine bay cleaned and silicone , car interior was sanitized, and drums was painted . I was truly impressed with the service I received from Shaun and team ; they are awesome together. This business has been in existence for the past 20 years and may it only go from strength to strength.

Shaun the brake specialist is by far the best help I have ever received for my car. He told me the options I have and even gave me R200 off as this was my first time. He explained in detail what was wrong with my brakes and showed me step by step how to care and assess on my own. He really went the extra mile for and he even cleaned and adjusted my back brakes. I took my car to this business based on the reviews. I believe thats the best way to judge a service-provider - by their reviews. And I despite the fact that there are THIS many good reviews, I was STILL blown away by the awesome service provided by Shaun and his team. They talked me through the issues with my brakes - which they identified within seconds - and showed me everything. They sent me pictures of the whole process, they gave me different pricing options so that i could actually choose what parts I wanted fitted into my car. I wasnt kept in the dark about anything! I dont understand much about brake mechanisms, brake disks, etc. , but now I feel like I know whats happening in my beloved car. I drive a Ford Fiesta and the Ford dealership didnt do a proper service (just 3 months ago), but these guys made up for it in every way. Friendly, easy to locate, affordable, professional, they even went the extra mile and cleaned the inside of my car, wiped down the surfaces - and disinfected everything they came into contact with (due to COVID). After getting my brakes replaced at a HiQ in Tokai, my car was making some seriously scary noises. I took my car back to them and they tried to rectify the issues but in the end they told me that the brakes were fine and that the sounds where due to some other problem.I then went to The Brake Specialist who was able identify several problems with what they had done and with the inferior parts they had fitted!
