Beautiful braai area with stunning views and tidal pools... but hardly any shade so do bring a gazebo or umbrella. Sadly all the toilets were locked (apparently for the past 2 weeks already) due to no water. There were no portapotties or anything. Not cool. Broken glass everywhere... litter everywhere... disappointing that such a beautiful spot can be so poorly managed. The braais also seemed vandalized. Not well maintained.
Maidens Cove is an extraordinarily beautiful Public Open Space. It has unique cultural and historical significance and, during apartheid, was one of only two areas on the Atlantic Seaboard where so-called non-Europeans, or non-whites could access the coastline. The area is Public Open Space and in close proximity to environmentally protected areas, including the Clifton Scenic Reserve (a Provincial Heritage site), Earls Dyke, the Unesco proclaimed Table Mountain World Heritage Site and the Table Mountain National Park Marine Protected area. Although the shoreline is, Maidens Cove and has some of the best braai (barbeque) spots in Cape Town, two well-protected tidal pools and a sandy beach area.
Very clean. Beautiful views. Well looked after bathrooms with soap and toilet paper. Pleasantly surprised.
What a beautiful place. Stunning views with a beautiful beach and tidal pool and braai facilities. A tuckshop (with the friendliest people) where you can get everything and more that you forgot at home. Just one regret, all the broken glass in the sand, all over the picnic area, tidal pools and beach area. More law enforcement is needed to prevent all the people from drinking alcohol.
Good braai areas. Theyre close to the beach and tidal pool, so no need to wonder around looking for the water. Not lots of trees, make sure you bring your own shade with you, at noon the sun beats down directly overheard. There are lifeguards on duty when the high tide rolls in. All in all very nice place, peaceful and scenic 🏊🏊🏊🏊🏊
Great outdoor fun at see and tidle pool to enjoy at camps bay viewing for family and friends who love site viewing
Beautiful view of the ocean. Wish there was some tables and seating close to the upper parking area for picnics. Toilets are clean.
Nice refreshing view and the place super safe
Awesome place for family secure lifeguard at pools law enforcement on sight and breathtaking views its like being on an island 🏝️ I just love it
We have been coming here for years and it was always clean and tidy. Today we were met by overflowing filth. I had to ask the Top n Nos cleaners for dirt bags of which they had only one. On enquiry they told me that the City must still send the lady to clean the bins. This is unacceptable. The City should be ashamed that in a time of Covid19 our beaches and public spaces look like this. Wish I took pics before cleaning up myself.
Perfect place if u want quiet time with the family
Another excellent spot if you live swimming in rock pools. Its deep enough for you to jump and shallow dive into and there are a ton of places to climb up boulders and chill. There is a problem with a huge amount of broken glass mixed in with the sand up until the water. So be careful and wear shoes so the glass does not cut your feet.Quiet on most days and a great place to chill and watch the ocean.
I love sitting on the rock ,and was so happy to see the otters 🤩
Was lucky enough to find it not too busy.
Great for a day out with the family. Strict policing around the no alcohol rule on the beach. Braai areas available. An awesome kiosk that literally sells EVERYTHING, even chicken and meat. Overall a great place to spend a sunny day without having to pay any entry fees. Only downer is that there are no taps in the bathroom so it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of hygiene.
Very nice place to relax, braai, enjoy the water
Beatiful area to picnic close to the Camps Bay beach. Was happy to see it is well monitored by City of Cape Town staff. But it does look a bit run down and clearly needs a bit of TLC. So City of Cape Town please look after this great community facility a bit better. Your citizens and visitors deserve it.
Nice view of the mountains and there are braai facilities. Also... Parking is free. Nice for the kids as there is a play park.
Great location for a braai, as there are braai pits available. A tidal pool is available for those adventurous souls who dont mind the freezing water. During peak season, it gets packed, so advisable to arrive early. Generally people are well behaved and there is regular patrols.
Not too busy especially in the early hours of the day
Excellent holiday chalets, my family and I will definitely book here again, especially the Monkey place chalets also
Full beach experience including our famous braai (barbecue) area
I love this location for couples photography. It’s a super beautiful location that allows you to shoot in 360 degree views. One side you have the ocean with 12 apostles and Campsbay and behind you there is Lionshead. The pools are spectacular and great for those reflections shots. It can get extremely windy here so be sure to check out the weather conditions.
Great braai area.. Very neat and enough braai spots available.
Beautiful location and good facilities. Lovely braai spots between large granite boulders.
Please update your time it says Open but when i got to Maidens Cove they said its closed and no one is allowed in
Great views and clean bravo areas. Bring own firewood but the employees clean up after very well.
You can take nice photos
The general space is clean. Good facilities. But the broken glass along the shore is a major concern. We need to do more guys, in terms of what we allow into spaces like this where we walk barefoot, with children.
Goes back in time when Woman had an Sense of Independance Freedom and Security Great on Weekends For Families and Safe for the kids
Just the serenity and peace
Clean and safe. Great braai area and toilets available. No drinking allowed.
Enjoyable. Great view and it is clean. Safe as well
A good place to stop for the views of Camps Bay, gets quite busy with Tour Buses.
Saw a Secrets of Summer show here and really enjoyed the beautiful beach views. However, they squeezed 3 stages pretty close to each other and didnt have enough overhead coverage for the monsoon that washed in.
Popular weekend camping spot with families with kids as theres parking close by and some braais.
Can become windy compared to other beaches, nice place to braai
Beautiful view point of the 12 apostles. As well as an area for a braai with family and friends.
Perfect for a summer night braai with friends. Just bring your coal, meat and sides; great evening guaranteed!
Windy but perfect for family day at the beach
Great views of surrounding mountains. Table mountain seven sisters and lions head. Very relaxed place to braai and swim
Safe and neat place to take the family for a Braai day out. Breathtaking views and such a relaxing environment.
Nice place to braai and enjoy the beautiful scenery
Beautiful camping space. Cold water and wonderful parties are thrown there
Beautiful place to take 12 apostle pic
BEES EVERYWHEREWe did not stay long at the braai area, because we were surrounded by bees. The place could also need some work asit seems neglected.Although my partner and I looked forward to the great ocean view from Maiden Cove, we instead chose to leave due to discomfort circumstances and go to Wynberg Park.
A Beautiful Secluded Beach with Tidal Pools and Facilities
This a special view. Good for photographs.
Its a beautiful area...not to scenic with table mountain behind you and the ocean in front with ample ablution facilities as well as ample braai spots. Very family friendly
Excellent place to chill, Great views all around. Located very close to Camps Bay
Well located, can have fun no desturbenses
Used to be a nice place, but now its neglected and needs maintenance. The two pools are unusable because theres no water in it. Sad!
With the mountain as your backdrop, the ocean in front of you and the boulders surrounding you, this picnic/braai spot is a rare find. Take an umbrella as it can get hot on a sunny day and not much shade.
Very nice area for braai, swimming and even nice play area
Gud place to braai with a nice view of the mountains and beaches
Nice spot to chill and braai and have a nice view of the ocean.
Beautiful area. Tonight attending 5fm new years party
Excellent place for relaxing and enjoying the views.
