I really enjoy this place! The atmosphere, the food, the views, its all great! It is essential to book if you want a rooftop view. Also some of the cocktails on the board downstairs, are not on the menu, so its important to look at that before proceeding to the rooftop.I really recommend this place. Ill be going back again and again.

Great eclectic bar and social spot with experienced barstaff, that make brilliant cocktails, have great selection of local bespoke wines. Little upstairs section on roof and cosy seating inside. Food is small plates and few main menu items that change up every so often. Great vibe and can get quite rowdy over the weekends.

Loved it all. The food, the decor, the outside tables upstairs with spectacular views of the mountains and the friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely return.

Tasty tapas style meals for sharing. Remarkable variety of drinks available - from amazing craft beers to well curated wine list.Highly recommended for small groups or one-on-one meet ups.

Firstly, the decor is amazing, I love looking at literally everything. The food options also look great. The waiters are nice, but there are ladies working behind the bar who are so arrogant, that I have given up, would much rather go ANYWHERE else (and in Kloof Street, there plenty of options). Its been over a year or 2, that I have gone to The Dark Horse on multiple occasions. If sitting outside with a waiter assisting, its fine, but the second I go to the bar and have to ask for anything, the attitude is unwelcoming and very much unhelpful (again, this isnt a once off occurrence). After the last time was during March, with two blonde ladies behind the bar: I definitely wont be going again.

Love this bar. My favorite bar in the area. Food is unique and tasty but definitely a place more for drinks. The crowd was always lively, trendy and attractive. The rooftop has an amazing view of table mountian. Solid craft beer selection. Be sure to buy Lloyd a shot of tequila if you go.

Great place for a night out with friends. Good view of Table Mountain from the open roof top seating area. Gets very busy so buy your drinks and food in advance! Also the later it gets the louder the chatter!

The staff is well trained, friendly and fast, and the ordering system works super well for splitting tabs. The food is tapas style and delicious. The rooftop has some beautiful views of Table Mountain and the city. The interior is very well put together. So overall this is great place to meet friends, have some drinks and eat little plates of delicious snacks.

A very cool and interesting venue. Good drinks at standard Cape town prices. With a great open balcony section. Would have been perfect if not for the wind.

This is my new favorite for drink and snack. LOVE the decor and the music choice is amazing. A mixed crowd and plenty of cozy spots for a an intimate (Tinder) date. Or sit outside on the deck with views of the mountain or people watch on the balcony overlooking Kloof st. The waiters are very friendly, my friend arrived 40 minutes late and I didnt feel like an irritation for hogging a table by myself in that time. =)

One of the only non-pretentious places in Cape Town with an outside section and beautiful view. The food is lovely - tapas and a couple main dishes. Awesome drinks selection. Friendly service. My go to.

Very nice vibe. Food is stunning ... except the Tuna ... neither the seared nor the Tartar was as good and tasty as the rest of the courses. Wine list is different and well chosen bit pricey though. Recommended.

This place is a gem on Kloof Street. Beautifully decorated, great wine list and the food is amazing and very reasonably priced. Very relaxed atmosphere. Great on a Friday in the early evening.

Painted black, the bar stands out amongst the other old homes on the hill. It looks small from the outside, but relatively spacious inside, decorated in a unique and quirky style. Good service and a nice atmosphere makes it worth a visit.

Dark... I like. Beautiful and surprising views from rooftop terrace. Taps very yummy. Id def go back. Nice for random Monday eve drinks.

One of my favourite bars I came across during a month in Cape Town. Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service - despite being a pub the service there was some of the best I have had in Cape Town - enthusiastic + friendly + quick.

Felt like they were doing us a favor to be there. We were willing to spend the whole night with food and drinks and were a group of people yet we waited for a long time to get someone to help us and we eventually had to go physically call someone to get service. Waiter was rude and we had one drink and we all left after deciding to not order any food. We gave our money to a place that actually wanted it.

The waitor was extremely rude and obnoxious. The staff seemed as if we should be greatful to be at their trendy place-really off putting especially when there are so many other places near by.

Seating unstructured and difficult if you show up with group. Goid cocktails and vibe though.
