The receptionist is friendly and helpful. But the branch has too few bankers. We were one of two people in line but it took 50 minutes to see a banker. Standard Bank needs to do better.

So I called the supplied google Standard Bank phone number (that ended up being the switchboard in Gauteng) and they confirmed that there is an Internation Foreighn Exchange at the Rondebosch branch.In the poring rain I ventured out only to be told that NO THERE IS NOT ONE HERE.Obviously there is zero commuication bewween head office and this branch.Not impressed

Wish I could give it less than 1 star! 1.5 hours you sit and wait while the only 2 consultants in the bank help at a pace that can only reflect a snail!When they do serve you they clearly have 1 the system set by standard bank to follow and 2 their feelings, they can help you if they want and make things slightly easier if they wish, but if they want to make things hard for you they will based solely on their feelings

Went to the branch to ask why the app does not work as advertised. The person at the reception could not speak English and completely misunderstood my request. Eventually I asked to see the manager. The lady was very nice and polite but equally incompetent. She sent me to a consultant. This person was not only incompetent but also rude. When she could not answer my question she just walked off without a word leaving me sitting in her booth. Ive been banking with Standard for nearly 40 years but now it is impossible to even communicate with the staff in the few remaining branches. Im glad I do not really need much of their services because I cannot imagine any meaningful discussion on any financial topic with the present employees of this institution. All the can do is type on the keyboard.Tried to phone the call centre few times. The latest attempt lasted 30 min and nobody answered. Why should they? After all they get their salaries irrespective of whether they help customers or not. They used to at least pretend to take the interest and answer the calls. Now even this pretence of supplying any service is gone. As long as the call centre exists the management seems to thing the service exists as well.

Absolutely useless staff and management, Its the same at every standard bank brach. I expect nothing but the worst from Standard Bank as thats what iv become accustom to over the years :(

Perhaps I was lucky with the timing, but when I went in to receive my new cheque card, I received quick and friendly customer service. Wendy Fortune was very helpful.

Honestly by far the worst branch I have ever dealt with. Never answer the phones, dont return phone calls or emails. Are ill informed about banking in general. Am finally closing my account and moving elsewhere. I needed help with an issue, its 3 weeks later and still no resolution and lack of interest in helping me.

The guy at the front was rude and impolite. The next person I dealt with was rude and impolite. I dont know whats going on but sort out your employees attitudes, they suck.

Compared to European banks this bank is a joke. Full of hidden costs and fees. I end up paying over 40 EURO/~50 Dollars a month for a much worse service than any bank I have ever used. Scam!
