What a stunning coffee shop. Nathaniel is a star and makes a great cup of coffee

Myself and my partner decided to drive out to Kalkbay for the day and grab breakfast, Bob’s Bagels looked like a good spot to grab something and enjoy in the park across the road. I ordered a bagel with egg, and this is what I got. I’m highly disappointed. I don’t know how you can serve this to someone.

We buy our coffee beans here, the freshly roasted coffee is delicious and well priced

When you call yourself a bagel cafe, I expect an above average bagel. Instead I got a below average one. Very dry, not fresh, not toasted so the cream cheese didnt got that little bit of meltedness that makes a bagel so great. Service was also nothing to write home about. Just staring at you to make an order, and thats it. Will not return.

Lovely coffee and bagels. You can pay using your card or cash. I enjoy this little cafe on Saturday mornings, while the kids play at the beautiful park in Kalkbay the parents get to enjoy some yummy comforts.

What delicious bagels and coffee. Totally yummy. It will be lovely once covid is over to enjoy a bagel and coffee in the park across the road.

Lovely quaint restaurant away from the Kalk Bay holiday crowd in the main street. Lovely peaceful place to read and have a good coffee and bagel. Added bonus, nice pottery shop next door.

Beautiful little coffee shop. Nice trendy location. Coffee was tasty and flavourful. Croissants and bagel was good. If they were halal I would have given it at least 4 stars but definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend.

Absolutely awesome coffee and probably the best croissant I have had in South Africa. You need to visit this gem. Parking is not plentiful so find a spot and walk - well worth the stroll

Great bagels!! Fresh and tasty!

I think their coffee is excellent and worth a trot off the main drag. Had a rondo to accompany our coffee - not worth bothering with. Crumbly rather than moist, a slightly more expensive almond friand would have had better taste and texture. It’s worth a visit, and you can enjoy the pottery on sale at the adjoining shop.

Bangels are amazing and coffee is usually really good. Unfortunately the last coffee I had was bitter and way too hot. It was sad for a place normally so reliable to drop the ball. But I will definitely go back and hopefully it was just a once off glitch.

A great little place tucked up Rouxville road. Look for Kalk Bay quarter. At this little place, you will be able to grab a good coffee and a rusk or bagel. Snapscan, cash or card is accepted. Drink your coffee at the little park opposite with a beautiful view of the mountain and the ocean.

Absolutely love bagels! And these totally live up to standard. Their breakfast bagels are amazing. Theres also a park right over the road where you can enjoy the sun with a takeaway bagel and coffee. Super quiet and relaxing vibe.

Wonderful coffeeshop with fantastic home-roasted coffee (the roasting machine is in the coffee shop!) and many little sweet things to buy. Also in a very nice not so crowded street of fish hoek. Really recommend it!

Ive been a customer of Bobs for over 6 years now. They have really lowered their standards over the last 2 years The coffee has gotten very weak and watery. The staff running the shop have also become very unfriendly. They arent rude but they also arent welcoming at all. It always feels like its a chore for them to take an order.

This is the best kept secret in Kalk Bay! We always take our girls and our little scottie for some play in the park and then some Damn fine Coffee that gets roasted there and the best bagels in Cape Town! Do yourself a favor and go enjoy this lovely local spot!

Inaccurate trading hours. I arrived at 2.10pm and the chap on duty said it was closed. Apparently you close at 2pm NOT 2.30pm. Please update your opening hours. A bit inconvenient driving all the way there from Simonstown to discover your closed.

Feels like home. I have met people there that have become good friends and are key parts of my community

Cant decide between 3 or 4 stars, but will give the benefit of the doubt. A lot smaller than I was expecting - only about 4 or 5 small tables - but there is a park opposite which I assume would be a lovely place to take your takeaways. Because it was so small, the ambience felt a bit awkward. Not a huge variety in the menu, but I had a very tasty breakfast bagel at a good price!

Best bagels in town. My favourite the Breakfast Bagel with bacon. Coffee deliciously smooth and full flavoured. Comfortable seating inside for coffee and a chat. Or sit outside at wrought iron tables in the child friendly community park and watch the kids on slide, swings, roundabout and climbing frame. Cash or SnapScan only.

Love this place! Perfect for groups of parents with active toddlers or babies. The park next door is very well maintained - donate using the SnapScan code if you can.Bobs Bagel will take your order and shout your name when its ready, meaning you can play in the park and chat with friends while you wait for your bagel.The bagels themselves are fresh and the fillings great. Prices are good and the coffee was good too. We had some Canadians complaining that they dont have such good coffee available on every street corner like we do in Cape Town :)

If spending the morning out at Kalk Bay. Bob’s is a must. The best is their Salmon bagel with cream cheese. You won’t be disappointed. If you want to experience coffee the way it should be done, this is the place to come. After you realise how much you loved it, they sell their coffee ready ground for you to enjoy at home. I love the chilled out atmosphere of the cafe and how it reflects the style and hip-chic of Mozambique.

My absolute go to coffee spot in Kalk bay especially when cycling. Their coffee and bagel is how Id like to start every morning!

Lovely eclectic coffee shop.

Nice coffee, though we weren’t able to sit inside due to their COVID-19 concerns. The owner and her husband are artists - ceramics and painting supplies for sale.

Honestly I expected more because a lot of people raved about them (maybe that gave me too high expectations?). I dont think they have a very large selection and they are quite expensive I think personally (R20 for a plain one and R30 something for one with Nutella). The bagels taste fine, but Ive definitely had better (cheaper) ones. Also the staff on the day wasnt all that welcoming.

We love grabbing delicious coffee and bagels here and enjoying them at the park. Fab place to meet up with big groups of friends with space outdoors for children or dogs to play!

If I had to sum it up... Average.Bagels were okay, nothing to write home about.Coffee was very good. Setting was quiet but rather strange when the staff who were serving us sat at the next table and ate their lunch.

Favourite coffee stop for our Dalebrookies Friday early morn swim group. Warm and welcoming, freshly brewed coffee - the best in town! Bagels and other delish treats always excite, and a bit of banter with friendly locals. No better way to start the day.

Worst customer service Ive experienced in a long time.The cashier lady was just not friendly at all and she just gave of a mean energy, the rest were too pre occupied with dancing to their music to actually make the coffee.We didnt get the stuff we orderedor bought and when asked she just pointed at the jar not giving me a bag to put my cookie or date ball in.Its a real pity because it is such a nice spot and I can see so many people come and go from the shop and we spesifically drove Out to come here

Cute cafe in Kalk Bay. It has a gorgeous shop inside and lovely books to read whilst drinking your coffee. It is averagely priced and has good coffee.

Tucked away off the main road, quant little bagel corner. Tourist prices, friendly service and the bagels are a bit more than a mouthful. If you cant find a nook to sit inside the shop, the park across the road is quite inviting if the weather is too.

Good coffee, but the bagels and service are bad. Very bad. We had to wait for half an hour (really!) for two bagels with cheese. It was just a dry bagel, cut open with some grated cheese. Thats it. It took them half an hour to make it. We wont come back.

The bagels are too sweet and bready. If you want a real traditional bagel, the dont seem to have the recipe right. Try Kleinskys or NY bagel if a great bagel is what you are looking for.

Bob’s New York smoked salmon bagel, is as New York as it gets! Excellent artisanal breads and amongst the nicest coffee I’ve had in the Cape.

Had a terrible experience a couple of weeks ago...We were greeted by terrible service and told the bagels would take half an hour. We then later found out that they have no card facility. So we left.Definitely wont be returning.Would much rather have bagels at New York Bagels.
