Bike Freight Transport is contracting other bike transporters to do their work, and has been doing so since 2019. Which is fine - acting as a broker - as long as the contractors have been paid. Which more than one has not. Peter Baker, do the honourable thing and pay what you owe to the bike transporters who have helped you out. Also, it seems quite unethical to review yourself... if one scrolls through the reviews, there are two from Peter Baker giving yourself 5 stars and one from your partner Theresa giving five stars. You have to resort to rating yourself?

Absolutely trash service. I was charged same week delivery price despite the next week delivery. then I was charged an additional R350 for storage of the bike even though it was not stored. They then subcontracted to another Courier service who was a million times more professional.

I scheduled my bike to be collected from the salvage auction and specifically requested not only on the booking form but also by email that they collect the headlight that was loose/separate. When the bike arrived the headlight was missing and the driver claimed that it was present but must have blown off in transit. After I complained they eventually admitted that they actually just forgot to get the headlight completely. Will be using a different company next time that has a better attitude.Dont tell me I didnt book through you, I dealt with Mandy and Peter

Misrepresentation. They do not drive themselves. They outsource the job to other transport companies and just put a markup on it without disclosure to you as the customer.

I used Bike Freight once. NEVER again. Peter Baker and the woman in his office are very rude. Once you have booked and paid, or if they can not deliver on time and you want to cancel, they show you the small print which entities them to keep your money. The replies to complaints by Baker show aggression and arrogance....typical of the treatment you will receive. Dont use them. Edited review follows: As can be seen by the tone of the reply from Peter Baker below, and in replies to other negative reviews, he refers customers to the terms and conditions in a rude manner. The negative reviews are mostly based upon the rude aggressive treatment meted out to customers when Bike Freight do not deliver as required. I did not see anything in the T&Cs that require a customer to accept being treated rudely or bullied. I have never dealt with any company before which has treated me so badly. Again I reiterate that I will not use Bike Freight again.

On the 5th of December I transferred the amount of R 2495.00 into your account.I then sent you an email requesting you not to collect my bike in Klerksdorp.I asked my bank to revert back the payment I made into your account. They where unable to do this, due to insufficient funds in your account. If you could please transfere the R 2495.00 back to me.And this was his reply.Hi GlennDue to unforeseen circumstances no refunds will be honoured during January 2020. This is due to a couple of factors beyond our control. The first being a considerable reduction in orders for December 2019 which fell from a 2018 figure of around 45 bookings for the month to around 15 bookings for December 2019 and only 5 so far for January 2020. This combined with 5 cancellations, for various reasons, means we do not have the cash flow to honour refunds at this stage. Should the market pick up in January and a healthier cash flow be realised, provision for refunds will be made immediately.I apologise for the inconvenience caused, however I have absolutely no control over the market.

My driver (Max) Started his journey on 11 march 2017 at around 3 in the morning. After driving over 1500 kms for the two days with only 4 hours of sleep. He still greeted with a smile and provided friendly service with offloading the motorcycle. I am very happy to say that I have received excellent service and would recommend anyone who wants to transport a Motorcycle to make use of Bike Freight Transport SA.

Well, after having my Honda XR shipped from the OFS to PE on trip 301, I have only good things to say about Bike Freight generally and Peter in particular.A couple of observations:- I was kept informed from the get-go. The trip left a day later than planned but I knew about it right away.- Peter made contact with the seller in Bothaville ahead of time as promised and the pickup went smoothly- When I asked about progress en route I got an immediate answer so no surprises or last-minute rushing around on my part- The bike arrived without event, securely tied down along with 5 others after the 800 km milk run from the OFSIn all, no problems and I got the service I anticipated. Im no logistics expert but trips like these are subject to variances in time and even route so dont expect JIT type outcomes.Looking at the comments here and on FB and while not discounting any, I am struck by the fact that most are negative. Given that BF moves a heck of a lot of bikes around the country, I have to think that most satisfied customers simply dont bother to give feedback. Too bad, as we all know how quickly folk jump in with the bad news, human nature.being what it is.Thats my 2c worth. Thanks Bike Freight and Peter...keep up the solid effort !

The worst customer service ever received!! we arranged and paid in advance for our bike to be collected on a specific day, only to be contacted the day before the collection was, to be told they could not collect tomorrow but only the following week! The bike had to leave the next day so we cancelled with Peter from Bike Freight Transport and made alternative arrangements. This happened two months ago and we still have not received our refund back! When calling their office to find out when we can expect to receive our money back, Peter is never available. When we have managed to get him on the phone we are told that he has salaries to pay, and equipment which needs fixing so he cannot pay us back or confirm when he can pay us back for not having provided the service. On doing research and committing on their Facebook page where our comment was deleted shortly after, we have come across numerous posts of similar concern! showing that they have a reputation of bad service! I do not recommend Bike Freight Transport to ANYONE!!!

I’m already aware that this company uses their terms & conditions to justify their non existent customer service or they simply deny that a bad experience ever happened. As I write this I know that they deal with concerns/complaints very unprofessionally. Nevertheless, I’m putting my review here for the public in the hope that others don’t experience the same frustration I did. While I fully understand the terms and conditions of this company because I read through it prior to using them, what I don’t understand is, how the person that works in their office can give you a specific date of delivery and not stick to the given date three times. If the company gives me a specific date, as a customer, I shouldn’t need to refer your employee to the terms & conditions - I expect you to know what you’re talking about over and above what’s on paper. If you give me an exact date, why not let me know if there’s a delay? Why do I need to constantly follow up? Why give your customers an exact date if you cannot follow through with the information YOU provide? I paid for the transportation of my scooter on the 14th September 2018 and it arrived on the 3rd October 2018. This is a long time to wait for a bike that came from Uitenhage to Cape Town but I understand that various factors influence the duration of a trip so that’s not the problem. My issue was with the rudeness and inaccurate information I kept getting. Mandy(the rude lady that I had to deal with when following up) was not professional at all. I know that she probably deals with many irate customers based on the lack of customer centricity; I was not one of them. I spoke to her politely despite the terrible service, yet she was dismissive and rude. I told Peter that Mandy has zero customer service and his response was “Mandy tries her best.” I couldn’t believe that the managing director was so unprofessional. I then understood that retaining me as a customer wasn’t important to any of them, since they already had my money. Perhaps this company does well enough not to treat their customers well but I most certainly will not recommend or use them again.

Emailed early this morning to get a quote to get a bike transported from East London to cape town . Received an email back with an application form , on this form I could not see any estimated pricing , I then contacted their office . A lady answered , I told her I received the email but could not see any pricing . She told me to go to my PC and look properly I informed her I was driving and could not do so and asked politely if she could please just give me a rough estimated cost . She them got extremely rude and short with me and told me once again to look properly on my PC, I then asked to speak to her superior . She told me NO and proceeded to shout at me over the phone ,I eventually just hung up . I am appalled by this kind of customer service .
