I can highly recommend these guys. They did an awesome job on my front differential restoration. The team is very professional and communicated very well. Don, the owner, is also actively involved and is a great guy to deal with.

Took my car to spring field 2015 due to gearbox moved when my car was drove in from behind.They wanted me to pay upfront for the job so I eft the money in full. Brought them proof of payment and drop my car with them. Filled in no paper work. They told me the job will take 2 days. After 10 day I went to go pic my car up my petrol tank on empty, that I left by them more than half way and 100km extra on my car.I checked the car out and saw my reserve water tank cap was gone. I went to the owner manger and brought it to his attention and he refused to replace my cap.The guarantee on the gearbox was 3 months and the 4rth month my gearbox leaked oil.They also refused to fix their poor workmanship.

Springfield Gearbox were very helpful.I phoned them before hand and on arrival they took my automatic Honda for a test drive and confirmed my gearbox needed an oil change.The oil change took an hour to complete.I got honest,fast and efficient service.My Hondas response was noticeable almost immediately.My gearbox changes were better,faster and much smoother.

Just picked up my car today.. so happy to be able to be driving it like I stole it once again :) Was also lucky they had another gearbox to replace my rare one with for my 20 year old car. Fingers crossed this gearbox lasts another 20 years

As a gearbox building company owner myself i am very impressed with these guys. I only build manual vw and audi transmissions so. I enlisted their help some time last year. I dropped off a box of bmw automatic gearbox parts and they did a damn good job of rebuilding it. I was super impressed with the client service and specific detail and attention that is given to my vehicle .even though they were really busy they made time to talk me through the repairs needed to be done . Excellent. I walked in there just for advice and they treated me like a customer who is about to spend millions there. The boss donovan spared no time when speaking to me and answered all my questions with a smile. They didnt treat me like a time waster. These guys are real true legends! I ended up having them repair my transmission and boy did they do a good job. Even though I sent it in stripped already. They knew exactly how to put it together and even picked up issues that I didnt...they are very thorough and deserve the title of gearbox gurus

Update after owner response: Most information in the response is incorrect.Ive been trying to be in contact with them since Sep2020 but no response and when i go there they tell theres no place in their yard to fix what they broke. To owner, I sent you an email with the facts instead of untrue claims you wrote.Ive used Springfield gearbox for two jobs for my Renault Automatic transmission issues and on both jobs the customer service and workmanship was just absolute terrible. 1st job was to fix oil leaking on top of gearbox, after paying for a full labour to examine gearbox for any damages and them confirming theres no damages, Gearbox broke on the road 15 minutes after I took the car from them, they didnt provide any help at all although they offered warranty on this fix... Second job of course was a result to gear slipping because there was sort of damages before (for 2nd job I asked to remove warranty since its useless because it covers only parts not poor workmanship according to them). They fixed the slipping alright but right after test driving, the car made strange noises from gear box, although they confirmed it was suspension not the gear box, one week later I discovered a bigger oil leak (although they charged to replace all gaskets..) on the bottom, strange noise was actually coming from gearbox because a fault in torque converter and they didnt even connect the natural safety switch properly when they put back the gear box in the car causing car not to start sometimes.. so after 22k spent on fixes by them I end up with faulty gearbox still.. Bottom line: dont use this workshop if you have a Renault Automatic transmission, they clearly dont know how to build/fix those

I was recommended by a friend who had been to Springfield gearbox who had a good experience and to ask for Donovan Clarke the owner about my Mercedes Benz issue I was having. I was welcomed and immediately felt relaxed that I had come to the right people. Donovan explained the issue with my car in detail that I could understand and quoted to repair my box. A few days later I got my baby baby changing all her gears like a dream. I have to say the friendliness of all the staff and professionalism over and above the great job on my car was really comforting. I have never experienced that from a mechanical garage. Didnt say anything about why my car has no gears. I was told by other similar companies I need a replacement auto box for my car. Don assessed my car, a day later told me some ratchet was broken 🤷‍♂️. So I ask for a price. Well lets put it this way. 6k is way better than 30k what I was being told. Thanks again. You are stars. These guys are brilliant. First time Ive ever taken my car to them and I wont be going anywhere else anytime soon.Between Rian and Donovan the place is run smoothly and efficiently and most of all compassionately which is a rare find at other places.My gearbox as well as my front left ABS sensor needed to be replaced which as some of you may know is one of the more pricey car procedures.Driving a Honda civic my first call was the Honda outlet and service center who immediately told me that labor alone would be 15+hours at R750 an hour + the 3 weeks it would take for the parts to arrive. I then phoned around and was told to contact Springfield Gearbox by a friend whos cousin had dealt with them. I told them the situation and within 2 days of dropping the car off I had a reconditioned gearbox and front left ABS sensor. That speaks loads to the capabilities and efficiency of Springfield Gearbox. It also cost a fraction of any other quotes.I highly recommend them. Whatever your concern is, call them first.

Brought my merc b200 auto in for a diagnostic test. I was told by similar companies that the warning light was going to cost me a fortune to fix. The guys at Springfield saved me thousands of Rands by just clearing the fault codes. I was so impressed by the level of service and professionalism, honesty. Thee best people in the business. By far. I had a more than exceptional experience whilst dealing with Donovan and Riaan from Springfield Gearbox & Diff Centre. The work was nothing but quality and I could notice this in the driving of my vehicle. It was sound and smooth. I took my automatic Nissan pathfinder to Springfield gearbox in December as my mechanic suspected it was my gearbox that was causing the lack of power. Riaan from Springfield did a diagnostic scan for about R900 and concluded that it is not the gearbox but most probably the turbo that is faulty and quoted R19000!! for a reconditioned turbo incl labour and second hand R10000Glad I didnt do it as it turned out that just the filters were clogged which costed me R400.Rem to always get a second opinion.The service was good and friendly

Riaans team made great effort to replace my cars clutch and was unfortunate in that the parts they were supplied with left the car with a shudder. A second clutch kit resulted with the same shudder. We later found out that only Mazda agents are able to source the original clutch and Springfield refunded me fully despite enduring huge costs in parts and labour. Always open and honest with me and always offered great service while being available to talk. Well done guys! Im very impressed with your healthy business ethic and fantastic service.
