Good food! Also portions of food were more than enough.Tried the pancake sushi while we waited for mains and I must say, really nicely done!I was expecting a nice view though as we read it overlooks the golf course... However that was across a main road which didnt give us the view we thought wed get. Nonetheless, food was worth it!

Asamis is not the best sushi on the block, but it is good. Why come here for sushi then? Because sushi lovers usually want a lot of it, and this is the best value for money deal you will find. Theres a buffet deal which involves a majority of the menu, even deserts, allowing you to try the full selection as you please. Service is very good and staff are friendly and helpful.Gather a bunch of friends and head to Asamis if you love sushi and youre looking for a guaranteed good time!

Always good service and great food. There is an all you can eat buffet with lots to choose from and you are allowed to order from the platters and selected items on the menu as part of the special as well. They also offer the option to buy the all you can eat coupon online for the store you intend on dining at. Plenty of seating, I have never had to wait for a table and the staff are friendly, accommodating and respectful. I have always had a good experience when visiting Asamis and will highly recommend the atmosphere and quality of food. A friend of mine had his birthday there a few months back and they made it possible for all 20 of us to be seated together by rearranging the tables and seating. There is a secure parking lot and you can see your vehicle from most tables in the restaurant. Keep up the good work and quality dining Asamis!

Food was as delicious as you would expect from an Asamis. The only criticism I have is that the restaurant is an odd shape so you cant see the whole restaurant from certain parts. This made flagging the waiter down difficult and service was a bit slow as a result. The excellently priced buffet made up for this though.

Loved the Seafood platter! Prawns and calamari was super delicious! Also loved option to swap chips/rice with noodles. Great value for money. 👍

The service was amazing the staff was warm and attentive from the time i walked in at reception right down to my waiter he was amazing!! I felt at home and the food was good the portion sizes was really good too. I had mocktails it was tasty. All round i would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for Asian cuisine clean covid friendly place with the best service once again

At first the beauty surrounding Asamis is incredible and the setting itself is fascinating and something of a uniqueness only possible in South Africa. Other than the soy sauce not added with my order I am quite satisfied and will happily visit again!

Be careful when you order take aways, especially through Mr D. Our past 3 orders have not been accurately fulfilled. Sushi missing, or salmon mixed for prawn, raw beef in the noodles and no vegetables. Poor poor service. Will NOT recomend to order take aways, rather dine in.

Having visited one of the Asamis franchises before, we decided to try the Asamis in Stellenbosch. The restaurant is quite large and can accommodate small as well as large groups. We decided to go for the all-you-can-eat option, where you grab anything from their sushi conveyor belt as well as order from a certain range of items on the menu, but they also have the à la carte option available. The items we grabbed from the conveyor belt didnt seem so freshly made however everything we ordered from the waiter was nice. Our waiter was also very efficient. If you intend on trying their all-you-can-eat I recommend that you rather order from the waiter instead.

This place is really mediocre... The staff are lovely and provide good service.However, the portion sizes are pretty appalling for the price you pay: we ordered 2 Thai dishes - I ordered the phad Thai, and while tasty, there were hardly any vegetables or chicken, so I was basically eating a plate of glass noodles.Furthermore, they have decided that it is a good idea to have the sound of their outdated bell ring at top volume throughout the restaurant which is mind boggling and hugely irritating, especially when the restaurant is quiet. Please do something about this...

If was a super fun experience. We had the all you can eat sushi buffet, for R169, excluding yellow plates. We sat right at the start of the conveyor and it was such a lot of fun. The sushi itself was delicious and the selection also nice and varied. At first the waiter wasnt that attentive, and they seemed a bit swamped, but later on we could order plates directly from him and he was very responsive. The platters that I could see, seemed like a lot to, and it is beautifully presented. The aircon was quite cold, especially for a rainy day in winter, but it didnt take away from the super fun experience.

Arrived at about 18:50 Stella Atos advertised, not available, same as a week ago when I was told it’s out of stock. Tonight its a coupling that was supposed to be here and isn’t…….Opted for the buffet, 40 minutes later and I have had three different plates of sushi. The same 8 plates of crabs salad comes by….again….4 portions of deep fried mushrooms….again…….same spring roles…….two deep fried prawns……again….. Feeling let down and completely ripped off. Give this one a wide berth folks.

The staff are very friendly and the mussels were great .. But the prawns were overcooked and mushy.. I think it mighy have been old.. We could not eat the prawns at all amd threw all of them awayThe platter was basically filled with prawns.. The platter for 4 we ordered did not fill us at all and we were only 3 people. It was my first time there.. Amd I would definitely not go back

Will not see mee ever again! Waiter forced us into the buffet. Food not up to standard. When we only ate a few plates because of this we were forced “by the manager” to pay for full buffet price although my daughter of 11 only ate the California prawn rolls which she ordered. They can go learn from Asami’s Tygervalley to which I would rather drive👍

Came to support during these tough times as asamis always has excellent food. Sadly I do not know what has become of this establishment. Service was an absolute shocker and front desk scolded at us for losing our slip as he could not find our order. Eventually he found the slip which was on the desk the entire time and in total we waited an hour and a 40 minutes for our food. Front desk kept on blaming the kitchens but they were not busy at all. Hope to see better service and customer interaction in the future.

Very poor service when ordering for delivery, they make Uber drivers wait and then when one calls for update on order only get a very unhelpful Sorry ..2-3 calls later, but still no resolve. Not recommended at all, dont waste your time and money on them.

Went into asamis stellenbosch on 14-08-2021 to place an order for a take away for 2 vegetarian sushi combo and 1 single portion of veggie spring rolls. Waitress informed us that our order would take 20 minutes. We went to the garage and came back after 30 minutes. take away was not ready. We asked the waitress where can we sit to wait. She indicated 2 tables right by the entrance. We waited an extra 30 minutes for our takeaway. Staff were not bothered.3 different people passing asked if we had been helped, after telling them we are still waiting for our order, they would go to the kitchen and never returned. My partner and I could no longer wait and we wantednour money back. When we went to the reception, we were told that ONLY PEOPLE THAT ARE SITTING DOWN HAVE THEIR FOOD MADE FIRST SO WE NEED TO WAIT. pathetic service from asamis stellenbosch. You dont treat customers like that. Youre staff are in need of a crash course on customer service and for a business running in covid, with such pathetic service and nonchalant attitude of staff? ACCEPTABLE SERVICE would be to manage expectations. Employ people that can look you in the eye and tell you honestly why your food is taking over an hour to prepare, instead of people that cant make eye contact and purposefully rush past your table. . I DO NOT recommend asamis stellenbosch to anyone as not only does their service stink, but their sushi is average. Even for vegetarians.

If you want some good sushi at an affordable price Asami is the way. I did notice that they use canned tuna on certain sushi dishes which I think doesnt belong on sushi, which is why they get 4 stars. Otherwise a good place you should check out.

The dirtiest restaurant I have ever visited. Menus are dirty & greasy. Tables are dirty & greasy. Sushi bar has a poor choice with very little on the bar. Restaurant is quiet & it is a Saturday night. Now I can see why.

My colleague and I stopped off for a quick snack at Asamis on Friday afternoon. what a pleasurable experience. Alisha Hugo the Manageress was amazing with her service, always checking up on us and promptly informing us when issues arose (even though minor). The food and drinks were great and the energy relaxed. I would really recommend the place whether you stopping off for a snack like we did, or you are out for a jol or wanting to spend some romantic time with your partner.Cheers to all @ Asami. well done and keep it up./

Very friendly service. They know their menu well and made great recommendation on the phone. Order was ready quickly to collect. Sushi was great!

Compared to all the other Asamis franchises this one seriously sucks!! Quality of food was bad. If you want to go there for lunch, best you arrive at 8am. The service is dreadful!! The billing system was AWFUL!!!! They messed up our bill TWICE by charging us incorrectly!! Unfortunately the inefficiency outweighs the beautiful vistas and ambiance that Stellenbosch has to offer and we will certainly not be back.

Love this place! The staff are great and usually quite quick.The food is pretty good too, just had sushi though so I am unsure of the cooked meals. Whoever designed the inside of the place, seriously deserves some form of gift because wow! From upstairs, the place looks like a small village house. I love that there are booths right by the conveyer belt and buttons on the table to call the waiter.

Manager was good and thats where good stopped. Service was pathetic, waiters all usless. Dirty menus, dirty glases, dirty tables, dirty plates. Everything was dirty. Food took long especially considering how quiet they were.So many other great restaurants in stellenbosch where I would rather have spent my money this evening

Beautiful venue and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. The sushi tasted very bland and salmon on salmon roses were cut extremely thin. I would suggest possibly seasoning the sushi rice a little better. Dumplings were about a 6 out of 10 and the hot and sour soup I might not know enough about, but in my opinion was maybe just a tad too hot and didnt really have a sour element. Once again service was excellent and our waiter was very friendly and communicated well.

Lockdown did something great for Asamis stellenbosch, the service is way better, you dont wait that long for your food anymore, and the sushi specifically is excellent. You wont find a better variety of delicious sushi. Was a great meal as well as a great experience!

The rice was ultra dry maybe because it was a quiet day and the sushi didnt move. We came for the sushi buffet and we ended up paying a R100 more for the buffet than we used to because of the 50% special.

Visited on 27 December @ 14h15 and a total dissapointment; no comparison to Tygervalleys high standards!We had to choose from few pieces left from the 10 am supply on the sushi belt, apparently sushi is made in batches..Waited 30-45 minutes for our sushi order to come despite a basically empty restaurant. Music stays on repeat, decor is confusing and flies all around the sushi belt.We do not recommend the Stellenbosch branch at all, though our waiter tried his best in the circumstances.

We went there two weeks ago to get some sushi. After standing in the foyer for a few minutes and realising no one was coming to welcome us, we went in to find a waiter or at least a place to sit. One of the waiters (who we found out later was the manager) walked by us twice without even acknowledging us and it was at this point that we left.Basic principle of hospitality guys, make customers feel welcome when they arrive, which you did not do.

Very disappointed with service. we checked online that they are open till 20h00. We came from Brackenfell and got there at 18h50. The waiter told us she will be with us in a second as well as the manager. At 19h00 they finished and told us that we can not do sit down because they only let people come in till 19h00 and that the kitchen closes at that time. On your facebook page you should put the time for when the kitchen closes and not just 20h00. This is not my first or second bad experience there. The time before we waited over an hour for our sushi. I will never recommend this store and i WANT my money back for the vouchers purchase online!!

Stellenboschs best selection of spring rolls and bow ties, but not sushi.Arrived to be seated by a waiter reassuring us he would be our waiter. Once seated we never saw him again and was offered neither food nor drink. We ordered salmon roses and received none as there was no server and the sushi chef himself said that they had no more salmon roses for the night, whilst cutting salmon which he could have served us with. The belt was empty and only had bow ties and spring rolls on, the odd deep fried shrimp chips aswell. To surmise, if youre looking for terrible service, a sushi buffet with no sushi nor variety aswell as the option of ordering nothing off the menu because there is nobody to serve you and they simply wont make it, then this is the place for you.
