Incompetent, inept, arrogant rip off - do not use!I appointed Team Architects to work on a major project at the Waterfront. Philip Stiekema, Partner, worked on the technical drawings. He took double the length of time to complete them that he originally quoted. He charged us for his extra time despite the fact that it was his incompetence that lead to the time overrun. When he finally delivered the drawings and calculations they were incorrect, costing us tens of thousands or Rand in rebuild costs. When his incompetence came to light he became very aggressive, rude and abusive to me and my staff.I have commissioned many architects but this was the worst case of incompetence and professional negligence I have ever experienced. His actions made a very bad situation much worse. I would advise any potential clients to avoid Team Architects at all cost.It is interesting to note that Team Architects has five 5* reviews on Google - all of them with no text in the reviews. When I looked at the names of the reviewers I noticed that two of them are employees of Team Architects and two of the 5 are by the same employee. I then looked up the other names on Team Architects web site, all the reviewers work for Team Architects. This is not a surprise to me as the firm are crooks and the 5 reviews done by their own employees just shows how corrupt this organisation is. Not just corrupt but stupid, incompetent and lazy as they use their own staff members names for the reviews!Please do yourself a favour and do not use Team Architects, in my opinion the worst architectural practice in South Africa.

Very bad experience. Council rejected plans as had many design features that were against council rules. As architects they should have known these rules and designed the building accordingly. Instead of accepting their mistakes and correcting them they became very combative and rude, particularly their senior manager Philip Steikema who is both incompetent and bellicose. A terrible experience from beginning to end
