Didnt go into the store but called in. The phone was answered quickly and the first person I spoke to knew the answer so my call was never transferred. The whole experience took about 3 minutes vs the 20 minutes I was on the line with Makro where I waited 6 minutes for the call to be answered, told the rep to put me through to the department that I knew could help me, got told to ask the rep, did, waited another 5 minutes for them to look up the product, spent 2 minutes having them awkwardly attempting to answer a question that they didnt know the answer to, had them transfer me to the correct department only for the call to mysteriously drop after 7 minutes.Totally going to lookup whether Game has any loyalty programs now.
Bad bad bad.... Why on earth do they have a number on website but no one ever pick up the phone... Monday I went to this Game in Cape Gate to get some of their promos but when we got there 5:20pm the store was closed but the website state they close at 6pm!!! Now that I call before I drive through from Ceres again for nothing no one answers their phone!!! Very very highly disappointed in their service

I bought a blender at game and kept it for a couple of day in my cupboard, when I wanted to use it did not work. It had not instructions inside the box and it looked used, so I took it back to game. Did they not tell me that I bought a returned blender? Believe me you, they told me it was a returned blender and then they gave me my money back, which I used to buy another one, but I had to test it at the store this time. So my advice to you is to test your staff and make sure they work before you waste your money, energy and time going back and forth for an item that doesnt work.
Absolutely terrible service. I have phoned them twice and emailed them to try and place an order for a product of theres and all they is yes we will contact you and then never hear from them. Absolutely pathetic where it comes to service.
Honestly disgusted by Game cape gate, they never have anything you are looking for and the staff is so unprofessional. When asking them about a product its as if they cant get away from you quick enough. One staff member told me Saturday that no Game stocks the product I was looking for what happened to checking if other stores have it, I decided to call Tygervalley Game and they had what I was looking for.
Just came from Game Cape Gate. There is no floor staff to assist in the Gym equipment department or the office/chair department. Wanted to buy two products and after waiting for some assistance, decided just to walk out. On my way out, the Game staff was just standing by the entrance on their cell phones. Cannot complain about the service , because there is no service.
I was looking for a specific product which I believe is not sought after very much. I could not find it on the shelves and thus went to the information/returns counter. The lady there asked a few people with no luck and then had one of the staff called. He quickly took me to the back and gave me the product I was looking for. This all happened in a few minutes time. The staff could have easily told me that they do not have the product in stock. I thank Game Cape Gate for going the extra mile.

Staff stand around, looking very disinterested. Yesterday 3 of them were leaning on a counter and chatting in the tech department, not bothering to move out of the way so that I can see the items on the shelf. No one manning the tills but several of the till staff milling around.
Mostly do not have what you want, even though it states they have in stock also one always have to look around to find someone for help.
The ladies at the customer reception point always ready to assist with my customer queries about their products. So patient when I want clarity on their products. Excellent customer services.

Dehumanizing and horrible experienceMy wife was not allowed to enter the shop with our 12 week old baby (in a closed stroller) because they dont allow kids under 18. She was told she could leave the baby at security!! This is discrimination of the highest order, what about single parents? She had to shop elsewhere, literally any other shop in Cape Gate which allows kids and follows the laws of South Africa! Not the communist Republic of Game.Theres more, calling the shop earlier to find out if they have a toy, they said they do. Lockdown level 4 prohibits toys for kids above age 5... fine..thats between me and Cyril to argue about. The doll we want is age 4 and they said they will sell it to us. At the shop the manager said unfortunely it is not a baby toy therefore it cant be bought. They just unilaterally closed the whole toy isle, not considering the laws of the country get again!What is your excuse?!Im listening

Not much to say here, they are the poster child of poor service. Loads of employees and no one in there department. You really just the get the attitude that no one wants to be there. My most recent experience was buying an exercise bike. Waited 30 min, no one. Got a guy to call the person of that department. Nothing. Went to fetch the manager, she call the guy. 30 min nothing. After an hour i was no tired of this place. Went to the manager and asked what the hell was happening. The manager ended up being the only one working. She was covering so many departments. Another 30 min later i got the bike. So in an empty store it took me 1h 30min to buy one item. They just scream customer service!!!The review did not allow me to choose zero stars, so i guess they are getting a one. But it is actually a zero.
Useless useless and useless, spoke to 4 people and all 4 gave me a different process on how you get credited when a supplier gave the credit to the user.
Your one stop shop great service from the staff they even go out of their way to assist. Cool and viby atmosphere. Bought so much and will continue to shop here, all my products were good quality

This Game store is mediocre at best. Went to buy a Bluetooth speaker. Confirmed stock via website. Got there and the speaker wasnt available. Decided to look at alternatives and found many of the models had no pricing (blank spaces on shelves where prices should be). Decided to ask the assistant for help, who wasnt very knowledgeable on any of the Bluetooth speakers on offer. Bought a Polaroid speaker that seemed good value for money... Got home and it has atrocious sound. So all round a rather negative and somewhat sad experience. Game has lost its game...
No wonder Game stores are not making money. I will never sit my feet in Game brackenfell. Waiting in a line for 30 minutes. Get help by a cashier with no absolute no customer service. Talking to her colleague and laughing while helping me. Till next door not even scanning everything just pack in also talking with packer. Customer got few stuff under by the trolley. Pass the security just taking the slip and tick off without even checking properly. Customer out of the door with few free stuff. No no no please management have a look at your till operators. You loosing money and clients.

Definitely stay away. One of the worst customer service in any store I have seen. I couldnt see any one trying to even help us few clients. We had to walk around to find someone that could help. The one person needed to walk and ask someone else for help. They then took their time to come and hel . You could see that they didnt want to help. So we left and went to Canal Walk where we got one of the best customer service at a store. So skip Cape Gate Game and go to another mall. They sould definitely not do business.

Today I experienced how poor customer service can chase a client away within seconds. I am absolutely disgusted in the poor service received from the sales manager at Game store Cape Gate. She flat out told me theres nothing she can do about my situation. There was no attempt to make effort for me as a customer and no attempt to apologise for the inconvenience as Im sure she could hear Im not happy. I walked in there so chirpy and left very disappointed. I was going to purchase a different product from the store but because of the sales managers attitude I decided to spend my money at a different shop.#unhappyClient

Game can be fantastic at times, and has some amazing bargains, but I personally have generally not found what I was looking for here. Ive also been frustrated by lack of stock of items Ive seen on price-check. Ill take an occasional walk through, but its not a go to store for me.

I liked the service here. I had bought something a week ago and lost the receipt. The item I had purchased turned out to be the wrong size so had to take it back in. Without the receipt I went with the cheque card I had used to make the purchase. The assistant helped track the purchase and I got my refund. Kudos to the lady who assisted me
Game Cape Gate, an exercise in masochismWe visited the Cape Gate branch on 24 and 29 June 2018 and were twice confronted with the general sense of ennui that permeates the very air surrounding the dead-eyed souls who mill around the shelves, muttering unhelpful answers, shrugging off queries and being the epitome of a retail employee.It is beyond me how there cannot be a single trolley in shop at approximately 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon (29 June). Not one. Not a single trolley. On a pay day weekend, mind you. The million-dollar response from the staff? They’re all in use in the store. By the roughly 50 shoppers. Someone skipped maths 101.Was there an offer to find a trolley?No.Because that would require initiative.Thus, we tracked through this Gehenna; carrying appliances while we were passed over by the glazed gazes wearing company branded shirts.The preceding Sunday (24 June) we popped in to buy a bike for our daughter and had to return as we hit a snag with the self-assembly.We were advised by the customer service (and I use that phrase flippantly) person that they could not help as it was store policy to not assist with assembly; this after we saw a bicycle being assembled about half an hour earlier.Being the gluttons for punishment that we so clearly are, hope remained and we looked for someone who wasn’t just sitting around to collect their wages.On the positive side, enter Mason Cordon who was the only person willing to help, advise and do a fantastic job of it. Mason made an enormous difference to a very frustrating situation.He was so eager to help and very friendly which is a rarity in the level of hell which is reserved for experiences at your Cape Gate store. He assisted with a smile, wit and a level of expertise clearly displaying a wonderful product knowledge.He advised where we had gone wrong, showed us how we could adjust the bicycle when the time came and went out of his way to make our awful experience a positive one.Mason made our six-year-old daughter’s day by assembling a bicycle she’d been saving up for. He did it, even though his fellow employees bemoaned his helping us and stood around, loudly complaining that they were not to assemble bicycles.Perhaps Game’s managers should spend more time encouraging this kind of initiative and enthusiasm in their employees or take a few lessons from Mason who is a credit to your brand.
Mary-JO...the first customer service consultant to actually make an effort to REALLY try and understand a customer issue, find possible solutions and make an effort to help. Why do the rest of your staff even work at customer service????We bought a discovery gazebo which broke at the top. Assuming I bought it on my GAME account - it should be easy to trace this purchase? It took us the best of 3 months - with staff promising they will phone and provide feedback they just never did.You see single faces in this store who look like they are happy or willing to be there. I suggest you look at the leadership of the store and start treating staff like they matter - maybe then they will treat staff in the same way.Thank YOU Mary-Jo for being a light and shimmer of hope in the Cape Gate Game Store.

Friendly staff but their trolleys are a mess and need replacing. Bought a large TV and had to lug it to the car in a hopelessly inadequately (standard) sized trolley. They had my money so I was on my own... I would have appreciated a little bit extra consideration or assistance.
I went to buy door locks here and the price I paid was different from what was advertised on the shelf.

Great shop. Just could not find new filters for my Sunbeam water filtration system. They sell the product but do not keep the filters in stock. Not nice.

Poorly stocked on average. Does not feel welcoming or clean. Not what it use to be like. Prices are now higher than most of the competition.
Losing its vibe and lack of products
As a long time Game customer, I have to say that my visit was disappointing. After many years there. I have found out that one could get a reduction as a pensioner. If one fills in a form and produces two passport size photographs. You new SA ID is not good enough plus the fact that they have all the information on line because you filled in a form when you applied for your card in the first place. Add that to the fact they are attached to RCS and I think its pathetic. Then when you ask to speak to a manager, she says to the person who phoned her call the supervisor as she is having tea!
The shop is fine but they can give more attention to the overall display- very unorganized

The sales person at the Electronics department was extremely helpful. He contacted a few branches to ask about stock of an acer 14in laptop. Advised that we ask the information counter to place the item on call back as there was no stock. Thank you for great service. I await call back.
Not particularly clean, especially the trolleys. I bought a product recently and when I removed it from the box it was damaged and there was a return slip inside the box stating it was returned due to damage. They were very helpful when I returned it though. I prefer the Tygervalley branch

After seeing about three people to buy a fridge cash, we wanted the floor model because as per the sales person there is nothing at the warehouse, we get home and the fridge is not working. Got one the following day from the warehouse.🤔

If youve been to one GAME store youve been to all of them. They carry a decent variety of stock, so youll probably find what youre looking for. Other than that, its the usual disorganised shelves, brain-dead staff and general sense of dread.
Delivery service is terrible. Avoid using it if you can. Or buy from a shop that uses a more reliable and professional delivery service.
Overall experience was good but very limited options on certain items.
Found exactly what I was looking for after receiving help from 3 staff members. I was horrified though, while waiting to speak with a manager, to witness a customer being rude to the manager. It is truly sad that female managers are still regarded negatively by customers. Nonetheless, the manager maintained her poise and remained polite in her dealings with the obnoxious man.

Game stores need to step up their camera gear, pro-sumer cameras , lenses, bags and tripods would be a nice addition to their current line of entry level cameras. Customer service is okay.

My partner and I went in to Game to price some board games and when we left the store were accosted by a security guard with zero interpersonal skills who insisted that my partner open the small backpack on his back that had remained closed during the five minutes we were in the store. She did not greet us she simply barked Open up. We found what we were looking for at Toys R Us who were also over 200% cheaper on that product. We will not be returning to this store.
